First Person: Jamie Wyeth

We reported a few weeks ago here on First about the Jamie Wyeth retrospective on display at the Brandywine River Museum. The normally reclusive Wyeth has been doing interviews for this event, and we had the chance to sit down with him days after the show's opening. In our First Person interview, we asked Wyeth why he finds exhibitions like this 'discomforting'.

Yes - a wonderful interviewer. Why? Maybe she studied the British way of doing it. In any case, she knows that when you interview people, you need to Shut Up. People want to hear Jamie Wyeth, not you. People don't want questions loaded with windy presuppositions either. They want to hear Jamie Wyeth honestly answer. So many Americans who insist on talking can learn much from this lovely woman - Shut Up.
