I love PY150 in general for its vibrancy and the way it often pushes into other colors in wet on wet mixes. I also appreciate that it can lean warmer or cooler depending upon how diluted it is. It’s often my go-to yellow in a limited palette.

I tried this yellow from Schmincke first and it changed my life.
Went straight into my core palette and have never looked back.
Love it for glazing as well.

PY150 is the one yellow to rule them all for me. Love this pigment! Also, I think that you are spot on with PV23 as the compliment to PY150. I’ve never seen a “black” or “grey” from mixing yellows and purples. It’s always a shade of brown for me. If you can show examples of when you were able to mix a black/grey from yellow and purple, please share as I would love to know which pigments in these two color families produce the darkest neutral. Excellent video as always!

Looking at your comparison I think that Rembrandt is my guy. It looks so clean and luminous❤️

PY150 is a mixing colour. It doesn't really matter how it looks like in the tube or the pan but it is more important what kind of mixes it can give with the other colours of a palette.
In the same mixing colour category belong PY129 and all the phthalos that are very intense and artificial when they are used alone .
PY150, PY129 and any Lemon Yellow are IMHO the most necessary and basic yellows that someone can have in a colour selection because these three can mix effortlessly all about everything and adjust the hue of other colours.

I like the DaVinci. I like how it shows some consistent browning on cellulouse, but has that even yellow on cotton. I don't need too much movement with water, and the price in the US is very affordable. I LOVE THE WORK YOU DO, THANK YOU!

I will get QoR. I like the color and it's the brand sold in the local art store.

White Nights PY150 in tube reweats very easily, they behave (in tubes) almost as honey based watercolors, they don't have honey, but probably other sugar based addictive
