Hey Jengar, you can change the bombload of your plane mid battle. When repaired on the airfield, j out, select the bombs you want and spawn in again. I think the 8x250kg bombs are better to strike medium tanks. Did you already know this, or is it new to you?

770 is the redline, but it's indeed faster then some fighters ;)

Just chased this thing at sea level with my spaded f82.. the twin mustang couldn't catch it. I mean, the ju288 was pulling away from the f82. Jesus, axis players are getting some good stuff. He177 now ju88c.

i've been doing them for a long time already ;) but fighters remain my main focus.
I would really like the see some new Italian fighters, both props and jets, especially the Re2005 and ithe g91 with 30mm cannons, and the mystere IV for the French since the II isn’t really competitive at 9.0

Absolutely Ervin! There's still a lot of options possible, and also improvements to the gameplay.
She now loses her Wings at 675 km/h, which is like reached at a shallow dive around -4°. This gives you a threshold of 45 km/h between top speed and structural failure.

Gorgeous looking plane. About five of the A and C series Ju 288 prototypes saw combat for a few weeks in 1945 as recon bombers over what was left of the Western Front. They were literally used until the dangerously unreliable 24 cylinder engines blew up or the basically non-existent spare parts available for each plane (they never set up a production line) ran out. As with the handful of Ju 388 night fighters operated by NGJ2 in March/April '45, a plane needing bits would be supplied with them by cannabilizing another. Why bother, I ask.

Good to see that engine reliability being modeled in, or not. WT is getting long in the tooth and far from its roots, an OP bomber that flew recon for $25 bucks, sounds about right.

Thanks to your recommendation I bought the ju288. I LOVE IT! your review was spot on. 4 flights in she has surpassed my expectations. She even smashed a p47 off its tail while landing. Flying the ju288 I don't feel the usual fatalistic dread of a bomber crew. On the contrary, I'm confident I'll get a base and a side of tanks before reloading and coming back for seconds.
As good as she is, you still have to plan your way to and from the target but a good bomber pilot should always do this.

And to buy it I bought the following:
I had just over 900 GE already.
I bought a P51D 20 at half price which comes with 1000GE.
I bought a shielded T34e at half price which comes with 2000GE.
This gave me enough GE to buy the ju288c 😁.
They also loaded me up with 40 plus days of premium account.
Total cost was $48 nz. About $10 more then if I'd just bought GE and I've got 2 vehicles I was gonna buy anyway.

So, it is worth the 25.00$ Canadian plus exchange rate? I still am nervous about how Gaijin will make it a great plane for a couple of weeks for sales and then nerf the shit out of it. The idea of being left with an expensive piece of Garbage by December 1, has made me hold back on buying it today. I just remembered one other issue which made me hesitate buying it: CREWS! I, as I am sure many others have this issue, that we have no more German crews left. Which means we have to steal a crew from somewhere else to put in the plane. Then, Gaijin will take away all their skills for the transfer and it will cost another 40.00$ or more to up grade that crew. So now we are looking at over 70.00$ to be competitive in that plane. Is it worth putting $70.00 charge on your CC just fly a plane Gaijin will nerf the crap out of when the hype is done?

Well it's too new to go on sale in 3 days for their anniversary so I'd hold off and see if they nerf it.
That said the HE177 is almost as crazy and it hasn't been touched so I can't imagine them messing with this bomber any time soon.

Are people actually that concerned about crews? You're actually going to spend 45 dollars on a fucking crew? That's a stupid waste of money. Just play the damn game and level up your crew like the majority of other players.

I hate coming up against this plane as British. The rear gun shread fighters. Its tricky to approach with relative speed because its so fast. I bought a premium spitfire at the same level but sometimes games are over before fighters even engage because these bombers strike so fast.

Just faced 2 of these end game was me in a lf mk9 .. and 2 La9's and running low on tickets and we couldn't catch them 2 do any high speed straffig .. I would prob buy this if it had some front guns
fair enough, its worth it without guns as well ;)
Despite having 2 extremely powerful engines, this thing becomes a sitting duck if one of those goes down. One engine flight is pretty much impossible.

I was wondering if you could re-visit the captured Tempest Mk.V German Rank IV premium in light of all the new planes it has to go up against. I'm considering getting it for unlocking more of the German Jets.

Sadly, I doubt that planes will get much attention in the next patch since it's going to be the launch of Italian Ground Forces.
I'm hoping they'll only add the Italian tanks and then the rest of the content will be planes and ships, though.
No need for more modern tanks right now. We can wait a month or two with those.

Well, as a Tanker, it doesn't bother me as much as it would you, but I do feel my brothers and sisters' anguish about not getting anything for several patches, as I almost exclusively play WWII tanks and those have been few and far between as of late.
But I also see Gaijins need to prioritize right now.
Modern tanks were released incomplete. Several nations lack proper competetive modern tier tanks.
Same thing with Helos, there's only three nations with helicopters right now, and more work on choppers is desperately needed as they're pretty poorly implemented right now.
And then they've just released naval forces too.
So they need to straighten up Modern tanks, Helicopters AND handle the beta of naval forces.
Besides that they're implementing italian ground forces, which leaves precious little room for planes.
However, the bright side of this is that there's only one or two nations lacking proper top tier tanks, so that's gonna get done pretty soon.
Helicopters will take time, but I don't see them being the main focus for the next few patches.
Naval is still in beta and I doubt they'll introduce any more nations in the near future.
So, planes will get their due attention soon, I'm hoping.

GJ puts still less and less planes into this game. I didn´t played WT last 3 months because there is nothing new.........1.81 and 1.83 are biggest disappointment for me. They adding every prototype plane but there is missing lot of historical planes like P-51 B and C.
yeah, they can still add loads of planes.
I think this is one premium I will have to skip. I've heard rumors the next major patch being Italian tank tree so there might be very little love for air forces in near future still..

No marker? You mean there aren’t name tags in air rb now? I haven’t been playing war thunder at all lately, looking forward to your video on the stage of air rb.
Jengar was talking about the last Enduring Confrontation "experiment" where there were no markers ever for enemy planes and vehicles, and markers for allies only showed when you got to ~800m. I found it interesting, and I liked it when we had team communications because I was calling out to my own team, "I'm in C4 and see a plane, anyone else in C4?" and they'd answer and we talked more to coordinate completing the missions.
The downside is when you get a dick on your own team who will not answer you. I followed a dot for 10 mins, repeatedly asking in chat "anyone else in my sector?" and getting "not me" or no answer; I finally catch up to the dot and it's one of my team who's basically been ignoring me -- or laughing at me -- the whole time.
Your enjoyment of "no marker play" really does depend on the quality of your teammates at being team players.
James T. Bigglesworth yes Im very aware of the struggles of having no name tags lol. I played sim a lot. This is all good news to me regardless. I’d love if all air rb was EC without name tags. I haven’t touched wt in a month or so but would like to give it another try if they make some serious changes. I have over 2000 hours and there still a lot to do but it feels pointless and air rb is so stale
I didnt like it as it makes you dependant on your team, and if the team is not good, which it often isnt, you're fucked.

Don't bother chasing down the 288 if it doesn't have any bombs it isn't a threat chasing down a bomber early game means your team doesn't have a fighter helping them

You have to buy 5k eagles to get the 3k. Which is a cost of S 25.00 Canadian plus exchange rate. In other words 25 dollars plus whatever the banker charges you to put into American dollars.

because i was planning to get that last base, but saw a dot, and i couldnt make out if it was comming this way or was going to the airfield.

there's almost no premium bias in air tbh. everything is very killable, and not significantly better then whats in the regular tree in general. This one is pretty good though and on the edge, but as usual isnt the case.
Definitely is premium bias shillgar is wrong. They eventually get shadow nerfed or made irrelvant by changing meta and the players shuffle along to the next scam. There are at least 2 or 3 premium planes per line that were massive seal clubbers at one point over the years. Jengar is a shill and takes this game far too seriously. WT was made with techniques from the early 2000's. Floating model of a plane that you can control on its point, fluid background, rather simple compared to modern titles. The challenge is finding how to endlessly monetize something that is technically simplistic. That is done with the patch schedule and an endless parade of new vehicles. Pwnd

american teams could win most of the time if more ppl flew their planes as they should be flown. Lawnmowing p-47 and such is the main problem.

I wont lie. I both struggled to catch it and to kill it in my F82. I poured well into a thousand rounds only for it to go down to control surfaces. The things just so fast. I knew it was premium first time I faced it.
