Skateboarding is not like other Olympic sports, every skater is friends with other skaters and skate for same companies etc. So basically it was like seeing one of your friends win
He got a Bronze in the Olympics but one competition is a bleep in the thousands of competitions over the many decades that skating has been around, not to mention the world of massively respected sponsored skaters who choose not to compete. Long story short, this kid is a nobody in skating and isn't particularly liked within skate culture. He has a loooong way to go before he earns ACTUAL respect within his sport. Best of luck to him.

Not gonna lie, the Olympics was the first time ever I was pulling for Nyjah to win. For those who don't know, Nyjah Huston is the most consistent winner in the contest circuit. So him bailing 4 times in a row was VERY unusual. But glad Jagger was there to put US on the podium

For the Olympics though I was rooting for him because he definitely seemed like our contender. Really happy Jagger was able to pull out the Bronze though and bring a medal to the US.
