You go to a fast food joint, buy a meal for 20 bucks, and realize the person behind the counter has to work 2 hrs or more to afford what you just bought. I had that realization a few months back. I don’t often buy fast food, and was shocked at how much it’s increased in the last little while. Then I was saddened that the food I bought for 4 was the workers whole days wage.
Nothing like selling actual crap in a sack that you can’t even afford to buy.

Never wore a mask or got jabs. Yes, prices went up, but people still keep buying and eating and snacking on things that have very little nutritional value if any. “Record online spending” 1) doesn’t mean record total spending, so may mark a shift from in-store to online spending rather than “more”, and 2) needs to be corrected for inflation if you’re going to have an apples-to-apples comparison with last year.

Most Americans (left or right) know what food costs. You know - on the debate stage, Harris was the only candidate who would have gone after food producers and meat packers for price gouging & collusion (Trump neutered the FTC in 2017), only Harris planned to help new families and first-time home buyers with down payments. She was the only candidate who was actively involved in policies to help young men and veterans with job training in the trades, while creating an infrastructure bill where *70% of the jobs would be for men under 40 without college degrees.* NOW? many of those infrastructure projects will be cancelled, fruits, vegetables, common tools, auto parts and building materials will become more expensive thanks to tariffs (with no reasonably priced domestic alternatives). Healthcare will become even more saturated with fly-by-night insurance companies (the way Trump likes it - a false sense of security) that don't pay for more than a checkup and a finger-stick. All so the top 1% of Americans can keep their tax cuts from 2017. Congratulations ... you've all helped Jeff Bezos buy another yacht (and I'm not even blaming him).
