Fix 1 get 2 free! I turned down a repair job, Customer returned with a deal I couldn't refuse.

I have more on my plate than I can handle, so when I was asked to put a fuel pump in an old Dodge truck I declined. A few weeks later the customer return with a deal I just could not refuse. He offered two similar trucks in trade for changing the pump. Since I am in the parts business, this intrigued me. I went to take a look at the trades and the deal was done. I included the fuel pump replacement in this video, but my camera had a fit and I lost the first half of the video. The second half is brief showing it going back together and the rest of the video is all about the deal and what I got for my services. I hope you enjoy the story behind it and the walk through on my newly acquired junk...or maybe not quite junk.

I know your getting a good deal as transmissions are a pricey thing. Engines are what they are. If you need it fine but neighbor will finance rather than fix.... hot rods on the other hand will find something for it to go into. That six is a 360 short of two cylinders. Tires on the other hand if good is a great thing. Plumb out of reason for high prices. Break them down and fix bead leaks plus new valve stems as it always bites you if not done. Since you live in middle of our country... parts do go fast tho. Its pulling and placing in a dry place or leave in to keep them going.... meaning a frequent start or face consequences. You have a decent garage so pulling a engine is a couple hour thing. most likely bad head gaskets although pray for condensation. New parts in a box is always a good thing and no trip to box store needed. As I learned, any mechanic is deemed good if they can just make their rig go a few more weeks

That seemed like a excellent deal you got but yeah I wouldn't go through the trouble changing them motors be more trouble than it's worth

Wait a minute! You got 2 dodge pickups for putting in a fuel pump in a different one,not to sound mean, but if the trade was for 2 amc's I could understand it,I think you got took 😂🤣

Nobody in their right mind would trade 2 AMCs. Like it or not, AMC is now one of mother Mopars children.
