I just recently got my Japanese version with the gold horns. I am really impressed with this figure. Its got great weight and presence to it. It dwarfs my SOC version and until further notice this is my favourite die-cast version of Grendizer. So far no QC issues and the spazer is massive. Such a great display piece. Thats one more off my list as I collect all the Force Five Super Robots.
I seriously hope that the next DX figure by Bandai is Grendizer. The DX01 Mazinger Z figure was insane and I'm sorry, but a DX Grendizer would blow this CM version out of the water.
Maybe they will do a Great Mazinger DX first? But, do you think they will make a Grendizer DX after the weird proportions of the SRC Grendizer?! I hope not.
I really love this cartoon. I have watched Grendizer in early 80's in Saudi Arabia, when I was a kid. Although this anime might not be very popular in Japan it has become cult in KSA since in early 80s. I can't imagine someone become a sane grown-up person, without watching Grendizer... ;). Being in KSA, we are really lucky to have an opportunity to watch this wonderful cartoon series in our childhood. Grendizer appeared for the first time in Arab World at the 80's as a complete two-season Arabic dubbed show. It gained a huge popularity among the Arab children in the 80s, especially because dubbed cartoons are very rare at that time. Grendizer popularity in Arab World even very much exceeded Mazinger's; especially in Saudi Arabia where Mazinger has never been shown on TV. Even today, the struggle of the hero Actarus (aka Duke Fleed) against the evil hordes of "Great Strateguerre" Vega give me shivers down my spine! BTW, among the corny aspects of the show, which add to its appeal : why the heck does Vega keep sending his giant robots ONE BY ONE (gettings their asses kicked by Grendizer episode after episode) instead of sending them all in one big assault? Beats me. Talk about a lousy galactic overlord! Seeing a Grendizer episode is like a fountain of youth to me ! I just can't get enough of its cheesy charm!
I have been avoiding buying this figure since its release date for years, in a hope that Aoshima will reissue it, but, nothing happened until today! So, I decided to order the European ver. and I am waiting for its shipment right now. From what I have heard from people who bought it, some collectors are lucky 'n got zero QC issues! I hope mine is fine. Will see.
You need to throw a HLPRO MT01 Grendizer and Spazer into that comparison too.. the figure is 40 dollars of pure goodness and the 100 dollar Spazer is still the slickest one out there,, a lot of diecast too.

Quite happy with my metaltech grendizer. People paid $300? Hahaha that sucks. This thing...vehicle voltron....3rd party super robots is not the way to go.
didnt cm go bankrupt n shutdown while they were producing this? I admire their ambition n blueprint bt they always sucked on execution. almost nothing locks into place

I'm so glad I passed on this figure it was tempting at first but nah it's cool. I'll stick to my soc grendizer instead.

Most of the Brave Gokin are pretty much crap. Poor QC, too much plastic, and weak plastic too. The Chogokin Tamashii one is way better
