I'm in Australia and I notice new products that are plant based have chicory root, as a pre diabetic this is alot better to consume then anything with corn starch, tapioca or other replacements. Great fillers for your cereal or wheat based items. For those that cant have their own farms or work fulltime and cant make a meal it's better to go with alternatives

In my "edible" garden the stars are radicheta (salads) and pumpkins. The water is alkaline and those vegy come very easily. I am glad to know that it has beneficial effects. My grandfather cultivated radicheta and the bitter salads are delicious for me!

Chicory is the root of the bitter salad green 'endive' (either 'curly' or 'flat') which itself may be found in most grocery stores. [Best served with a tarragon-flavored white wine vinaigrette.] After roasting, the root is ground then brewed and drunk on its own as a caffeine-free beverage with a coffee-like flavor [aka 'Postum']; or, blended into ground coffee and served as a "French" or "New Orleans" Style brew. As a native New Orleanian, I've been drinking this all my life. Coffee without the chicory simply tastes wrong!

Mankind has been manipulating genes by the hit-or-miss method of cross breeding. Using the moreprecide method of gene manipulation allows us to change only the precise change to achieve a result. This no only can increase the nutrition of a particular, but in many cases it will reduce the use of conventional pesticides. there is not one single vegetable sold in grocery stores that has been cross-bred over and over. you probably not recognize the original form of corn, or any other fruit or veg.

thats right modify it and then farm out the original developed through natures wisdom, oh no lets cancel out what we dont need and just change it to keep or enhance what we think we do need, lets literally change the food source that ecologically works in harmony as nature intended. (so we can get big fat money contracts and keep ourselves employed). Lets corporatize food and license it.
