    I've become increasingly better at budgeting over the years & then even more while getting into minimalism a couple years ago. Your videos are so fun & informational in an easy to understand way and I appreciate that! It's like having a financial advisor in my pocket whispering "you don't need to buy that." 😃!

    Pay bills when they arrive is a habit I've had for years and it's great to just know those obligations are dealt with and see what you are really working with as a stock pile afterwards. I often find when asked about budgeting from friends people think they take home more pay than they do so they never budget on the right amount. Love your videos! If you ever get in to investing in the American markets please do videos!

    I would love you to do a giveaway of a 30min chat/planning session with you! As a young woman with a new small business it would be great to be able to talk to another woman about finances!

    I like all the rituals except #5 as we use a combination of budgeting and credit cards (which we pay in full every month) and then we take advantage of companies who offer bonus qantas frequent flyer points if you spend a certain amount within a timeframe (which we budgeted we would have anyhow). By doing this we have managed to purchase 3 return tickets from Adelaide to Dallas for a holiday we are taking this year using only frequent flyer points, so thats at least a saving of $3, 000!!!

    I just wanted to say thank you for making finances easily understood and manageable! I love all of your videos, not just the ones about wealth/finances. I know beauty isn't really the point of your channel, but you always look so polished and put together. I would love a sneak at your makeup bag or a "get ready with me"! 😊

    I have for years whenever I do use cash and get a $5.00 bill, I restrict myself from spending it. When I reach $100.00 , I start over and continue the process. It has helped me build my savings tremendously.

      Mike Hunt Is Wet Hey Mike, my father was a gambling addict which bankrupted my family. I learnt good financial habits on my own, but recently my mother in law was diagnosed with an unfortunate illness and my husband and I are paying for her medical bills. Money worries have always been a problem for me but Canna helps me get my finances back and track and helps me feel like there's a future with opportunities I'm creating. I appreciate her advice & that's why I left my comment. I hope you have a lovely evening & are free from any such troubles.

    Some people don't really see the point in paying for stuff in cash (instead of pulling your card) but I do think it makes a difference. It makes you want to spend less or reconsider your purchase. I have a budget for myself every month that I can use for dinner, drinks or make up or things like that ( stuff that I run out of and need to repurchase) and I haven't even touched a single penny yet :) I feel proud. Every penny that I don't spend that month I will save and put in an envelope and put it away. I am not sure what the destination of these extra savings will be but I think it will go towards my holiday at the end of may.

    I think tip #5 is great! at first, I too thought that it was very inconvenient when u mentioned it but yeah, you are right. usually when I pay with cash, I'm more conscience about my spending. cause I have only limit of what I can spend n what I can bring in my wallet. whereas with my debit card, I have my whole salary as a limit.

    • @SugarMamma
      @SugarMamma  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! It can be risky having full access to your debit card when buying things particularly when your whole salary is in it! xCC

    We usually pay for everything on credit card then pay our income into our offset and pay it off each month in full but this means we don't actually have any cash. Is it better to build up savings and store that in the offset rather than the offset being emptied each month? I feel like we really need to change how we do things, it's almost like we are a month behind each month

  • @emmapayne8861
    @emmapayne8861 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've just gone for cash this month, it's made me more responsible with my budgets.

    • @SugarMamma
      @SugarMamma  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that's very sensible Emma... I try and use cash when I can as well... It's amazing how it can stop you from purchasing something if you don't have enough cash in your wallet! xCC

    I am very excited for your app! I use cash more often and every single coin I get back in change goes into a coin container at the end of the day. I have $145 saved so far (it is an electronic coin counter). once it is filled I will put it in my savings! :) I love your tip videos. looking forward to Frugal February video.

    Hi Canna! Great video!!! Just wondering what you think about people starting a small share/ETF/managed fund portfolio whilst also paying off your mortgage? They say you should pay down your mortgage quickly but by the time your mortgage is gone there won't be as many years for your portfolio to grow? Just wondering if it's sensible for people to have the best of both words by paying down good mortgage AND starting a small investment portfolio? Thanks again for the vid- love your work :)

    hello! first of all, I love your videos! I truly feel inspired after watching them. I'm curious as to your thoughts/opinion on credit cards that have some sort of a "cash back" incentive, whether it be actual cash back or points that can be redeemed for something. Hoping to see a video about this soon. Take care, xo.

    The problem I want to point out with paying for everything in cash is that if you pay for large purchases in cash, the government gets suspicious. I had a friend who was a waiter so he bought everything from tips and the police thought he was a drug dealer

    • @SugarMamma
      @SugarMamma  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Siobhan O'Connell gosh! Well firstly I am glad to hear that he wasn't a drug dealer but at the end of the day he wasn't doing anything bad and the government can suspect anything they like but your friend was being wise and sensible with his cash. So he is in the clear! xCC
