I almost ordered one of these barreled actions but I need up ordering the ruger American ranch in 6.5 Grendel because it take the ar15 mags. But I love 6.5 Grendel. This will be my first bolt action in 6.5 but I’ve been shooting the 6.5 from the ar15 platform for over a decade now. It’s been my go to deer rifle and with some 100gn nosler ballistic tip handloads I’m getting .3” groups from my 18” faxon match barreled ar15.
I haven’t even picked my rifle up yet and I’m already looking at stocks. Not sure if ima get the magpul Hunter or maybe a Boyd’s pro varmint. Don’t think ima do a chassis since I’ll be hunting with this rifle so I don’t want it to weigh too much. I really think the Grendel is by far the best do all cartridge for the ar15. The 6mm arc is a damn close second but the ammo selection and availability keep the 6.5 Grendel on top over the scarce and expensive 6mm arc
Boyds are really cool, I own two, The At-One is heavy, The Agility is lighter, but its still laminated, so some weight to it. My Howa came with a synthetic stock, I can convert it back to its original configuration if I take a hike in the wood for deer. You could look at Hogue, they have really nice stock with grippy texture. I agree with the 6.5 Grendel, I almost went 6arc, but was concerned about bullets choices. Thanks for the comments much appreciated!
@@WildBushGrit I was looking at the Boyd’s pro varmint stock. I like the at-one and agility but they definitely looked heavier. But yea if other companies start loading ammo for the 6mm arc other than Hornady I might get into the 6arc but definitely won’t be giving up on the Grendel since for one I really like it and two I have tons of ammo and reloading materials for the 6.5 Grendel. I see Hornady is making new bullets specifically for the new 22 arc. Be nice if they would make that type bullet in a 105-115 grain 6.5 that way we could get higher velocities without having to sacrifice bc because of using a lighter bullet.
One of my favorite youtubers. I look forward to your videos. Thx!
Monday morning, waking up and reading this comment, today's going to be a good day 😀 thank you!
Keep posting - good stuff. I love the Grendel - great cartridge.
Thank you! Grendel is indeed marvellous!
Where are you shooting ? Montrealer here
That was near Radisson in Eeyou Istchee. Same area as the ptarmigan hunt.
@ awesome, thanks. Looks beautiful
@ wow! 15 hrs away! Looks amazing.
@@nicholasfrancoeur3897 I just came back from there again. :) the weather was brutal yesterday on the road.
@ oh man, the wind!!!
👍🏻
nice set up👌
Nice rifle
You can probably save yourself the time and effort of having to do a ladder test. Hornady's large sample size testing seems to imply that that test has little validity (see episode 50 of their podcast).
Cool build regardless!
Thanks! You're getting me curious, because I really swear by ladder test. The WEZ modeling from Applied Ballistic clearly illustrate SD variation and miss %. I'll check up the podcast! Thanks for the info!
