wait no, you guys dont understand, im so happy yall enjoyed watching this movie with me. i didnt think anyone would care to watch this video as the movie came out quite a while ago. tysm for watching with me and i will make sure to watch the second one with yall :))
Little fact about her discovering the wings are gone: Angelina Jolie said the scene was one giant metaphor for being violated. The drugging, the pain, realizing what happened, it's all right there. P.S. I'm only wording it as such to get past the censors.
A lot of men said it was about her voluntary surgery sorry I was like what that is literally not the same or the main point one is wielding agency (which a lot of dudes criticized) and the other is the opposite
I've always associated the fear they feel and her transition to a villain in this movie as a perfect example for the saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." 👌
One little detail I really appreciate is when Maleficent is using *‘good’* magic its golden. When she uses *’evil’* magic it’s green. A cool tie between both Maleficent movies 💚
Fun fact, in the book, it is revealed that Stefan took TWO stones from the pool and only gave back one. He kept the other one for himself....proving that once again, a man cannot be trusted with a woman's heart. He SAYS he loves her and its true loves kiss, but the instant circumstances turn to his advantage, where he can become king and have all the power, he betrays Maleficent in the worst possible way. Honestly, I think drugging her and taking her wings from her was MUCH WORSE, in her mind, than had he simply killed her and brought her body to the King as proof. He absolutely violated her and shattered her trust and her heart. And the beautiful irony is, while he was the one who broke her heart, Aurora was the one to heal it. Honestly, I consider this movie to be one of the best Disney live action remakes, along with 101 Dalmatians and Cruella. THIS is how fantasy SHOULD be done. You can clearly tell when you are in Maleficent's home that its magical....unlike the new Peter Pan movie where it just looks like plain, ordinary Scottish cliffs. It is absolutely gorgeous and the designs of the fairies are very creative. And I like how they chose to do the story. Angelina Jolie was PERFECT as Maleficent.
For clarification it flopped with the critics, audience ratings were way higher and rightfully so😤 I learnt to not trust the movie critics nowadays, it seems like the only accurate analysis from them is when a movie is extremely good or extremely bad, anything in between I squint my eyes at refer to the audience.
I genuinely don't get how this flopped with the critics, it is SO GOOD! And such a unique take on the story of Sleeping Beauty, no shade but the original could get boring at times, Maleficent was always the most interesting, making her the protagonist/anti-hero is SO GOOD, and I just find this movie so satisfying with her being the true love's kiss and getting that happy ending
Critics look at genres as a set of lists a movie must fulfill, if it doesn’t match exactly with an arbitrary guideline, then they trash it regardless of how great a film it is. It’s why they praise boring ass terrible films and degrade actual creative and good films. Critics suck.
I absolute love the trope of found family, Maleficent and Crow being parents figures to Aurora is such sweet cute amazing concept it made this became one of my favourites movies of all time. The second one is also really really good!
Here's some interesting research I found on the actual story: Apparently the spinning wheel is a metaphor for growing up. The Curse was essentially Maleficent saying, "She will be given the chance to grow up." By burning them, the king was saying, "She will NEVER grow up!"
This movie was so beautiful, amazing and great to see you react to! Angelina stole the show in this. it was so cute that her child was in it so they wouldnt be afraid lol
OMG! I love Maleficent so much 🖤 Iconic queen To be clear, as much as I do hate Stephan, the fact that the King's armour burns her at the beginning has nothing to do with Stephan. He was wearing armour wich just happened to be made of iron. Also: Maleficent couldn't wake up in the scene he cut off her wings because he put something in the drink he gave her.
commenting LATE but don't feel bad for figuring out the plots of what you watch, i do the same thing when i watch movies n shows ALL the timeeee. people are always in shock but i swear it's like a sixth sense i(we) have 😭
The only reason the people of malificents land feared her is because of her understandable change of charachter. They remember how she used to be incredibly kind, gentle and happy...but now after stefans actions she (understandbly) became angry, resentful and the kind aura she once had....turned into more of a vengeful one, thier formerly kind-hearted friend and ally....has now turned herself into a ruthless unforgiving queen....
THEY ARE BOTH SO GOOD!!!!!!!!! Sleeping Beauty animated has been my film to sleep with forever, but both live action films hold up so well in their own regard. I love both of the love actions so much. The 2nd one is a bit longer, but they are So good! 🎉🎉
Oh yeah ignore the critics for quite a lot of movies. I trust people more than the critics. Also it didn’t flop, everyone I knew went to watch this movie and everyone I know loves it. This movie and Cinderella are generally considered the best live action Disney adaptions made. Ironically they are also the reason we are getting so many live action adaptions. Because these ones were so good. But alas the others can’t quite live up.
I always despised maleficent until I first saw this move bc it showed more of her background story and why she ended up doing what she did. I started to feel bad for her and actually liking her character. I think one of the reasons Stefan took away her wings is bc he couldn’t live w/ the amount of guilt of k*lling her since they used to be friends so he just took her wings so she could still live. But idk I could be wrong, I just liking looking for the good in people. is so annoying in this film. Love the videos! You do such an amazing job! I aways smile and laugh whenever I’m watching your videos. Would love to see you react to the second one and Disney’s Rip Girls if you haven’t already.
i also think that's what the film implies. but it also made things much worse bc maleficent then had to live with the fact that the person she loved betrayed her and took an irreplaceable part of her for personal gain. by trying to be more merciful, he chose the option that caused more harm 😔
I really liked it. when it was released back in 2014 I was turning 16 that year, so it was like it got to celebrate my birthday with the live-action version of my favorite Disney princess. and yes, definitely watch the second movie. :)
I was about to write:"I'm so happy no one is suggesting you to watch the sequel!"but...I was talking too soon.😓I'm sorry, this movie is *awsome* and I love it,but the sequel doesn't make sense and it shouldn't have existed!!👎 01:32 - 01:37 *SO TRUE* and TV series too!!! I hate that!!!😫GIVE ME COLORS BACK!!! 04:05 - 04:19 Don't ask me,girly!🤷♂ 06:23 - 06:41 OR armors are simply made of irons since forever.😅 14:17 - 15:07 Yes. 1:6:27 Here she is!💕 BTW Stefan was so dumb...all this mess could have been possibly avoided if only he returned Maleficent her wings _the moment_ the old king died!🤦♂💢 25:58 - 26:20 Of course. And this movie came out _just 1 year after "Frozen"_ so it was cute, but also super predictable!🤦♂
All the other creatures were scared of maleficent because back then there was no ruler of the forest but maleficent created a throne and basically made herself queen and made everyone else bow to her
Prince Phillip's actor was also the Giver movie adaptation. I know it's not a good book to movie adaptation, but I still think it is a good movie. I do just like the actor though
Maleficent was fantastic and it's my favourite and yup the second one is also amazing you definitely should watch it. Incredible reaction we all hate stephan 😂
I think anyone who says this movie is bad, they're lying 😂 This movie definitely held the rage of women, it is very powerful. 10 out of 10. Tbh im glad Angelina was the main protagonist, girly has had a wild life. That scream was real asf.😢
I'm sorry, but this movie DID NOT flop, it is the 4th most watched movie in 2014, with a box office of 768 million 😆It is Angelina's highest grossing movie.
I've got to admit I'm a bit of an Angelina Jolie hater (being honest here) but this film is actually really fun. The story gives us a different perspective on the legend we've all known for most of our lives and she's good in it. There. I said it. 😉
12:56 punishing children for something their parents did, let's give it some applause!! Ma'am, what I loved Maleficent but that wasn't the positive side of her character...

Nah. That's not a "little-known fact". You're just saying that to impress people with some "insider knowledge" but actually, everybody knows that.

Her subjects feared her because she turned dark and no longer laughed. Also, her raging despair terrified them.
I've always associated the fear they feel and her transition to a villain in this movie as a perfect example for the saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." 👌
Another detail about the SA metaphor is that Maleficent ends up raising and eventually loving the child of her attacker which many women have done irl
One little detail I really appreciate is when Maleficent is using *‘good’* magic its golden. When she uses *’evil’* magic it’s green. A cool tie between both Maleficent movies 💚

A lesson to men that they can be duplicitous. They can't have it both ways.
There are a lot of things wrong with your first sentence.
@@iamdeathiamentropyiamdarks3517 Do tell....what is so wrong with the first sentence?
@@CeltycSparrow A man cannot be trusted with a woman's heart?
was this a remake though? i don't think it qualifies it is an original story that has elements of an earlier work

When it connected for me what him cutting off her wings was a metaphor for I realized this movie was not playing around
"The gift of beauty"
"Oh, no one gave me that" be so fr right now, girl💀
1:19 Not me realizing this is where the TikTok audio is from. My mouth was agape 😭✋🧚♀️
LOL
Stefan cutting off her wings and how it relates to this story is an allegory for SA

Well, yeah it kinda makes sense that the creatures in the Moors feared her.
this is my moms all time favorite disney movie, i think she’s watched it about 20 times and it still affects her as much as the first time

I absolutely love this film , it puts a great spin on the story but still keeps very true in most aspects, but for me the changes work
Maleficent was really popular with my friends! I had two friends who got the same Maleficent Halloween costume the year this came out.
loved this so much! Yes watch 2 also 3 is confirmed

I knew you'd love this movie, and onto the second one!
Always loved it
My only critique is I wish the three fairies weren’t minor antagonists- I really loved them in the original movie
This is honestly one of my favorite movies of all time

🖤Diaval x Maleficent🖤
Prince Phillip's actor was also the Giver movie adaptation. I know it's not a good book to movie adaptation, but I still think it is a good movie. I do just like the actor though
Can’t wait for when you see the second movie 😍
can't wait for your 2nd movie reaction. it's the lunar new year here in Asia. it's so warming to have a reaction to watch, a disney one :3
Maleficent was fantastic and it's my favourite and yup the second one is also amazing you definitely should watch it. Incredible reaction we all hate stephan 😂
This chick definitely has more than 3 cats but only one litter box.
And you know that litter box is more hygienic than the average CoD enjoyer
i LOVE this movie its so beautiful
To be honest I actually love this movie. I honestly don't understand much of the hate.
14:56-15:07 yea, but it wasn't the baby, it was the child actor
This is the first time I've heard this called a flop, it waa popular and got a sequel
One of my favorite Disney movies!!
fun fact, the Childe is actually Angelina Jolie daughter so that's why she doesn't cry when she see her
Did you also recognize Professor Umbridge as one of the fairies?
i did and it activated my fight or flight

i always loved thsi movie !!
Did he NEED to get rid of Aurora? He could've just raised her himself for 15yrs and just kept a close eye on her/locked her up on her 16th.
Yes, you’re right. It is Aurora.
I would love for you to check out the sequel from this movie, it’s really good ✨
We need a reaction to the second one,,,
She was a fairy 🧚
Oh please please watch the second its so gooodddd
This movie didn’t flop at all, it make almost 800 million at the box office. It was quite successful.
I didn't like the 2nd movie at first, but it grew on me and it's fine. Good, but not great.
Love this movie so much! Time to react to the sequel so we can enjoy it together! ❤
If you loved this movie you should watch Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
There is maleficent 2 which I think you should watch too because it is SO GOOD!!
When I watched this the first I shipped Diaval (the crow) with Aurora as well
Looking at the little girl, you'd know her dad was Brad Pitt.
The thing with true loves kiss is they have to love each other she has to love you and you have to lover her in order for it to work
omg i love maleficent!!
think you lost the plot a little thinking the crow would … fall in love with aurora 💀
After Twilight, anything was possible 🫥
I originally did too lol 😂 😂 but I just think it was cause he's handsome. Why make him more attractive than the prince?
make sure to watch the sequel
It came out 10 years ago in 2014
There’s a second one to watch btw if you want to continue this
I've got to admit I'm a bit of an Angelina Jolie hater (being honest here) but this film is actually really fun. The story gives us a different perspective on the legend we've all known for most of our lives and she's good in it. There. I said it. 😉
The 2nd movie is pretty good too
Loved your reaction and your accent😎
Low key you look like the mc little girl from Turning Red
When disney make evil villain in the original movie become good heroin
Watch the sequel please!!!!!
It's actually really good. Critics just be hating
it flopped in terms of critic reviews, but not box office, it made nearly $800 million

Ma'am, what
I loved Maleficent but that wasn't the positive side of her character...
I don't care what no one say malficent is the BEST villain movie
