Surely you can see how "I'd urge you to think carefully about the tone you speak in" could be misconstrued. It can sound patronising depending on how you read it. Wirtual says himself he realises it was ambiguous. Second: I think part of Granady's comment was about how Wirtual was putting this in the video. Why show this at all? He said himself it wasn't part of the investigation, and so didn't mean anything in terms of evidence. Why is it here?

I really can't see how anyone can read Wirtual's message as disrespectful or threatening. He says three things: 1: he knows that riolu plans to make a statement 2: the report will be published regardless so he warns him from make stupid statements that will come back to haunt him 3: if he wants he can discuss the findings privately before for a chance to explain himself and make the best of the situation I think it's clear that wirtual at least somewhat liked riolu and wanted to give him a chance to not have his entire career destroyed by this. The reason that it's in an informal vernacular is because it's a discord message.

Yes he's very fluent in it but even so, it's not that uncommon for non-native speakers of any language to muddle up a sentence a bit or word things oddly. Even Riolu - "that's blackmail, if I've ever seen one", the actual idiom is "if I ever saw *it*". I think what's more important is the intent behind it, it's clearly been taken in the harshest manner, probably because our first instance of hearing it was from Riolu taking it in that manner, so we have that in our minds, a bias. We are overthinking it.

"With great power comes great responsibilities", so he tried desperately to help his friend, who was nonetheless having none of it. Some players have spent literally 300+ hours and more for a SINGLE record, meanwhile the cheaters can do it probs within 5 or so. So it is quite a big deal ngl. Also the way rioulu handled the situation and tried to pain Wirtual as the bad guys made it quite a big situation aswell. Liked both of them before and I seriously dislike one of them now ( im sure you can guess which one). Now as for the final reason why it is a big deal is that as riolu stated before, his livelyhood is on the line rn cause of the shit he cooked up.

Riolu seems like a compulsive liar to me. How else could you keep up this facade for 10 years plus? It‘s just sickening how some people can form their own version of „reality“ not consistent with actual facts. Maybe he could‘ve worked on as a TM player after the reveal if he had just admitted it. Of course, it would be a major push back for his career. Nonetheless, lying brought him to the ground even faster than being honest ever could‘ve. How can a man have so little respect for his „friend“? Wirtual gave him every chance to not make this go in the way that it did. I think the „fame“ and success just got to Riolus head. Even more pathetic was his girlfriend‘s statement going along the lines of: its not about cheating, it‘s about human beings. I like riolu and wirtual both so much, this game its not that big of a deal imo lmao but the community makes it great, such a shame
It's not something insignificant, they're literal world records that have been cheated.
Some players have spent literally 300+ hours and more for a SINGLE record, meanwhile the cheaters can do it probs within 5 or so. So it is quite a big deal ngl. Also the way rioulu handled the situation and tried to pain Wirtual as the bad guys made it quite a big situation aswell. Liked both of them before and I seriously dislike one of them now ( im sure you can guess which one). Now as for the final reason why it is a big deal is that as riolu stated before, his livelyhood is on the line rn cause of the shit he cooked up.

For something to be illegal it doesnt have the be against a written law of a state. There will probably be an indication somewhere in nadeos policy that using software is not allowed. Else they have no reason to ban him. And if the whole community says it is fucked, then it is illegal. It doesnt have to be written.
