I absolutely love Limato, but God love him, he just simply isn't a miler, and if this race doesn't convince Henry Candy of that I don't know what would? Henry Candy desperately needs to return to contesting the top 6f G1 sprints, and I personally think he's even better at 7f than he is at 6f, which could open up an attempt at a G1 Prix de la Foret repeat and along the way there's some valuable 7f G2 races to contest again like the Lennox Stakes, Hungerford Stakes, Park Stakes, etc....
GBeret83 yeah hate it. Weirdly reminds me of Yanworth being run over minimum trips and then stayers hurdles.. when he could have won the aintree hurdle for multiple years if campaigned correctly. It’s a bad trait trying to squeeze square pegs through triangular holes, but it’s completely unforgivable when they’re incredibly talented squares in their own right 😂
@Luko Sports, I really hate it too mate! I've been a huge Limato fan from day 1, and always thought he would turn into a top class miler some day, but it just hasn't ever materialized for him. It's crazy that a horse that's been as consistent over 7f as he's been during his career just simply cannot stay that one extra furlong. If he's gonna contest G1 races he'll have to do it primarily back down at 6f again, save the Foret in France which is over 7f. It bugs the hell out of me that all of the top 7f races in the UK are all G2 races, although they've been desperately trying to get the Lennox Stakes upgraded to a G1 race for years now.
All credit to the winner but this is one of the worst group one races in terms of quality I can remember.

Gee this would have been a blood bath had Winx raced in this. Were these seriously the best milers in Europe? Wouldn't be worth the trip halfway around the world.

Point is, if she's not there my opinion that she'd run 8th is just as valid as jacks opinion that she'd win.
The only way to know for sure is if she'd come to run, but that's right, she didn't.
Jack Nolan hence one of the many reasons she didn’t go... this was the logical race for her and it was want a stellar field by Queen Anne standards. The race she needed to be in was the Prince of Wales Stakes v Cracksman. I’m disappointed for world and Australian racing that she didn’t go... she could win 10 Cox Plates for all I care. Having a horse like her is a once in a lifetime opportunity and having her compete on the world stage is huge for racing. I understand it was a tough decision but my opinion is that the risk was worth the reward.
Nothing stopping her going to the breeders cup for the mile or distaff.
Creacksman is going to get beat i hope ye all dident put alot of money on him come on cliffs on more yup 👌👍👏👏👑😂😂😂
