I always felt he could’ve done so much more with his talents, if he wasn’t so caught up with being the image. Talented man. He really had a love for music watching him in this.
I get your drift and sympathies with your thoughts completely. But consider who Elvis became? He was and is the greatest of all time.

Thank you for posting this. Ever since I saw this small clip in That’s The Way It Is I’ve always wanted to hear it in its entirety. There’s nothing so pure than hearing just Elvis and a piano. We know that Elvis played the piano and sang almost every night. I just wish he had a tape recorder recording himself through the years.

This is Elvis in his own little safe heaven doing what comes naturally, with a bonus of him on piano, just perfect.he is in his own little world here.
Such poignant lyrics at a time in his life where they must be so real and raw for him , his vocals top class, delivered with sincerity, its so visable at times he's even struggling to get the words out.

Amazing-he never could read music. I play piano and I’m always fascinated by those who play by ear. Now to be fair, he’s just accompanying himself which is not THAT hard, but I don’t think I could do what he did so easily . He had a great ear. Neither could Scotty, Bill or DJ read music, not James Burton or Glen Hardin either. Not sure about the rest of his band. Jerry Lee Lewis played by ear too, just amazing.
One of my favorite EP ballads of the 70's. Love its lyrics and pleasing melody. With this SONG, thru the THAT's the WAY album, I happened to influenced ONE male teenage non-EP FAN, also during the 70's
to be in the fold of the ELVIS WORLD. It became his obsession to have a copy of the LP and really he got it bought right away. This younger guy (than me then) started to collect other EP records. And to this DAY, just like me, he got so terribly addicted to ELVIS ON TOUR docufilm!!!

I've always thought that had Elvis lived, and AFTER he hopefully would've fired the Colonel, he would've ended up touring the world, doing all that, maybe recording some songs that were made famous by other artists(I've always thought that "True" by Spandau Ballet, was a PERFECT song for Elvis to cover). Then by the late 80's, early 90's, made his show more intimate like the sit down segments of the 68 Special, and continued to record.

So sweet to catch him in these candid moments. do not call him a junkie that man had so many health problems bone cancer his intestines were twisted and the tried in doing them without having to do surgery and put a colostomy bag on him. and it started turning around he was diabetic yeah glaucoma he had liver problems just like his mom and heart problems like both his parents. drugs didn’t kill him. he did. it. o d get ur facts straight before u talk reckless about a man that’s not alive to stand up for himself. but i’m here in remission of cancer and i promise u won’t come to indy we’re elvis did his last great performance ever the very last one at market square arena in june 26 77. ur need more compassion for ya fellow brothers and sisters. at it usually takes a junkie to try and throw shade on others to make them look better. why don’t u keep ur mouth shut unless ur speaking. facts and if u ain’t got nothing jive to say and ur going to lie then keep it to ur self. because somebody like me fighting for my life taking chemo few years back. when i had to go to the er because of problems pain blood pressure etc. the er docs and nurses thought i was strung out junky because i was on chemo so sick and skinny. u either get skinny on chemo or real heavy even before u take chemo u get these side effects.

He could play the piano and guitar ok, but with more practice he would of been better. I would of loved seeing him sitting at the piano on stage with that amazing voice singing this. Instead of him doing those silly karate demos. Sad he lived his life being a image and not the real him and what he could of done.
