I didn't know vocabulary ,grammar etc. I didn't know how to speak with out error. But now. I can easily speak. I study this. My method is reading, watching etc.. I was reading a lot of English books and under line the vocabulary words from that book. Reading news papers like the hindhu, Indian express etc.. If we decide to study any thing. truly inspirational.Most of the Malayalam medium students face this problem even they are best in technology and the field where they work. Thanks to our public education system which helps an average family student to get good career in their life. But there should be an equal importance for English with Malayalam in our lower primary schools which will help the students to demolish communication barriers.I have seen a lot of examples where proficiency in English wins over the knowledge .

Reading the newspaper regularly, reading books will help in building vocabulary. Practicing is also needed. I speak 5 languages. Malayalam my first language. Be bold. Pronunciation is difficult for malayalees. Make a conscious effort to lose the accent and problem spots.

Those who don't know to speak in English should understand from her speech that her situations forced her to improve her skills. @@Mandy12_12 She studied in a Malayalam medium government school in Kerala, India. Malayalam is her mother tongue. So she didn't know how to speak in English. When she completed her schooling, she wanted to become a journalist. So she choose BA English literature as her graduation subject. It was not a premier institute. Even though she studied English, she could not be able to write a sentences without any mistake. She got a job as a journalist in a Malayalam newspapers in Delhi. In Delhi, most of the people speak Hindi and English. She struggled a lot..It was a hectic task for her to learn and speak English. She got job as a journalist in many English media, initially there the publication department never ever published her news stories directly as they had a mistakes. Again she tried a lot. So many people humiliated her due to the pronunciation and spelling, structure mistakes. Now she is a very popular political journalist in Indian Express, a prestigious news media in India.
She shared some tips here
1) She wanted to become a political journalist, she used to read political weekly.
2) She wrote the attracted sentences and new words in a book
3) She listened the conversation between people and observed that how to use different sentences in various occasions
4) She watched BBC news and observe the way they present news in brief
She said language is a medium of communication, don't consider it as a herculean task. If you hardwork, you can learn it. Her journey was long with lots of ups and downs, finally she reached her destination.
