Any true DIY or mechanic can appreciate this video. What looks like only took an hour of work actually took 5 behind the scenes. People just don't how much actually goes into a project like this. HUGE respect for the hard work you do & the awesome content you provide. Been subscribing for years now. Greetings from Tampa Bay FL!

Well ... in reality it was a normal nothing day made interesting by some very good editing. You maybe missed your calling Stu, excellent job, like everyone else, I enjoyed the vid. Hey when you have "Big Blue" in the water (complete) maybe try some more formal life style productions. Test your hidden skills.

Want to compliment you on the way you present everything you are doing on the trawler. Love the humor and the sights around Hawkesbury river. As for your shop, so long as YOU know where you put something who cares! Agree with ZeppCo, keep it real.

Hey Stu, your new format and style of video is fantastic! We all knew you were a good Guy and now....there is no doubt. I have learned so much about metal working since subscribing and rest assured..your channel...your point of view..is influencing thousands of people. In Australia, where I live...you get an official "good work" and a "good on yer mate". Thanks for showing the hard work involved in building a steel, sea going vessel.....and the Design Thinking that underlies all the systems within a boat....when you said "geez my back hurts".....I laughed out loud.....just completed a 4 month renovation of my steel boat.....I can really relate to the endless grit in the ears, teeth......the arm fatigue....the hardware store......the $!!!! So excited to see the wet and dry exhaust comparison...the level of technical instruction you're giving is superb. Just wanted to give you feedback from another steel boat owner. Bloody good work Mate.

Thanks for sharing a peak into a man chasing his dream...you are definitely the kind of guy I would share a pint with and talk boats all day...I look forward to everytime I get notice you have a new video posted, can't wait till we get this baby in the water...PS your work ethic and grit is awesome mate....you remind me of a great mentor I had in my life who also possessed the multiple trade skills you have, and I admire that quality immensely, obviously you were not born with a silver spoon up your arse, nor was I....crack on Mate, and I will keep watching! God Bless!

When i subbed last year, i was working on my first outboard, which i used your channel to fix up. I’m coming to the end of a full restore on an old fiberglass i/o boat now, and even though i havent got a lot of information on that project from your channel, the experience you provided helped me push on with it. As a result of all this, i’ve made some relationships that led to a job working at a boat shop and several offers from people wanting me to work independently on theirs. So thanks, all the way from Detroit

That pump that runs off the engine was meant to be a backup bilge pump, it's always good to have one that's mechanical (off the engine) as a backup to your electric pumps, since a short can kill your system. There have been times I've really been glad to have backup pumps. I'd try to figure out how to have both. An electric clutch on the pump attached to the engine that engages when power is lost is really handy. Have a great day.

Ahoy Cap'n Stu. I really liked this video and a peek into the daily struggles of a mariner. Good of your neighbors to let you know you they were going out, so you could have a wild party with your beer and doughnuts! The boat's coming along nicely and you're obviously a master at juggling many things at once. Maybe you could get a drill powered pump and filter for your buckets of diesel. I like where you live, seems peaceful, but my arthritis couldn't cope with all those steps. Just as well your good lady has a sense of humour, she clearly understands you. Looking forward to the next one. Stay safe and keep up the good work.

I love this Day-Of Dangar! PS> Howdy to Mrs. Dangar!
You mentioned about the pre-pay of fuel in the US...back when gas was $5 per gallon (about $1.25/liter) the local stations kept having drive-offs...thefts of fuel.
They instituted the pre-pay policy...I show up with 2 big 25-gallon tanks (about 200 liters total) in my Suburban but they only allowed 15 gallons at a time...have to go in 4 times to fill up.
And since I had to over-paid on the last one they had to refund me the balance...was a ridiculous situation all around.

Stu I'd like to thank you so much. Your vids have helped me TREMENDOUSLY! I can't begin to tell you how much money you have saved me fixing my 88hp Johnson myself. The marine shop wanted $450 US just to do the 2 carbs. (About $640 AU) With the help of your vids I did that myself as well as prop oil seals. (I pulled the carrier and did it the "right way") anyway, thanks my friend. Please don't ever stop making videos! Can't wait to see how the trawler ends up!

Great video Stu. You live in a beautiful part of the world. Thanks for sharing it. Your video reminded me of everything pleasant about the Hawkesbury basin and Ku-ring-gai Chase: sandstone, bellbirds, lots of stairs, cockatoos, ferns, gums, hairpin turn roads and quite a few snakes in the Summer. As a bonus you've got the island and the Anglers Rest hotel. Nice.

To help with the stair logistics: A beer keg in the boat with a hose to the house would be a tremendous savimgs in time and back aches. Besides using plastic at the fuel pump in the US, you can take your wife in the store to wait near the cashier. After fueling you can decide if you want to pay for it, or leave your wife. Totally your call.

In addition to being entertaining you are fueling my fire. I live on Vancouver Island off the west coast of Canada and plan on getting a boat 3/4 that size and living part of the year on it. Thanks Stu and make em however long you want, I'll watch

That was a very interesting look at a day in your life, Stu. It looks and sounds idyllic, living where you do, but having to hump all sorts of stuff to your home from the car on the mainland is a lot of work ( maybe your next project should be a Funicular Railway, lol ). You earned your beer, as usual. Thanks for sharing.

That is really hard work you do there. My respects to you man. I should say that Im really enjoying the videos. This is truly better than a TV show. Multitasking is a must when required, I do it all the time my work requires it, some people can do it or fail doing it - you are clearly very good at it. Good day. From usa Florida .

I liked seeing “the rest of your day” not just working on the boat. Here in Pennsylvania we don’t know a thing about boats. I’ve come to be very interested in the work you’re doing. I can’t believe I got excited when you said you would explain the difference between wet and dry exhaust. I’ve been wondering about that!

Wow . Much respect for you . All those stairs, it seems like you have to go work before you go to work. Then the hardware store so far away ... I had no idea, you are a straight beast. My day seems not so horrible now. Lol. My service van tidyness is way worse than your work areas lol. It looks like 2 tornado hit it then a earthquake for good measure. Keep up the good work brother.
