    The end monologue is why I think Boyle is a comedic, satirical genius. It's why comedy from the left will always trump the right. It's why the left points out all our inherent hypocrisy so beautifully. It's why the left criticises the left so sublimely.

    • @youareaspook5897
      @youareaspook5897 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Sean Moonshine the point is that a lot of the "left" disagree on what "left" is - whereas a the right agree on economics at least - people that believe themselves to be part of the "leftist" movement are very much moderate instead - Gun Control for example is a major topic of argument in the left, the further elft you go the less likely you are to agree with gun control - both MLs and Ancoms HATE the idea of gun control - one for the purpose of proletariat revolution and the other for the realities of their ideal anarchic society, however the moderate left loves gun control - whereas the almost noone to the right of centre wants gun control

      @bjarnebratsberg4724 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't care about left or right, Frankie is so spot on when it comes to reality in this monologue, in the end nothing really matters. He knows how meaningless everything is, yet still makes us laugh at the inevitable pointlessness of existence. His general existence gives value through his observations, and we can all learn from it, what we choose to do by learning is up to the perceiver, we can be a shitty version of ourselves or try to become the best version of our potential. If everyone tried to become the latter, maybe the future wouldn't be as grim as foretold by the prophet F.Boyle

    Very profound finish from Frankie, i love it. He really should do some sort of sci fi comedy though, maybe team up with a good director and make a short film, instead of just doing a couple of scattered comedy shows here and there; he has so much more potential, and the Tramadol nights show was brilliant. He has such a zany imagination. I remember one of my favorite comments of his from Mock the week, where he said: ''is it the year when cities finally gain sentience and raise themselves on hydraulic legs to begin the long battle for resources?''... Enough said.

      RIghteous Shift You probably like him simply because he swears. Look at the front row of his stand-up shows when he picks on the audience. Their mock shock and then everyone else laughing is just like a Pavlov’s dog reaction. Boyle nowadays is a BBC sell out, about as edgy as a potty mouthed Ben Elton. Appreciation of him has nothing to do with mental states ... more to do with taste. He is simply third rate and those that like him (like Stewart Lee’s fans) think they are intellectuals. Ironically, that is actually the funny thing.

      @@FlameDragon72 Far right like the Nazis? Even though they were another brand of socialism mixed in with nationalistic patriotism to hoodwink the masses. Bolshevism another socialistic political theorem based on class and religious warfare isn't much different from Nazism other than what I mentioned. Both of them are Statism both of them maintain the state is the sovereign body and the citizenry are it's servants, both detest capitalism(private property-self ownership).
      We live in quasi-corporate-state where those few at the top, a crony conglomerate, capitalise of the socialised majority at the bottom. Essentially, all profits are capitalised to the shareholders and their associates, while losses are socialised to the public. Doesn't matter if it's a Republic, Democracy, Socialism or Communism, ultimately they are all the same in different measures, they are simply Statism, a parasitical system in which the state(elites) has substantial centralised control over all of society and it's economic and military affairs.
      Given a choice of two option is not the same as having the freedom to choose. The left right paradigm is that choice where ultimately both lead to the same end goal, with you having no freedom to choose what's best for you but imposed on by an authoritative state called government.
      To be governed is to be watched over, inspected, spied on, directed, legislated at, regulated, docketed, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, assessed, weighed, censored, ordered about, by men who have neither the right, nor the knowledge, nor the virtue. … To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction, noted, registered, enrolled, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under the pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, trained, ransomed, exploited, monopolized, extorted, squeezed, mystified, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, despised, harassed, tracked, abused, clubbed, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and, to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, outraged, dishonoured. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality.
