Perfect setup for plinking in the yard. It is already an accurate BB gun out to ten yards, so having a scope on it will make it even more fun to play with.

To anyone planning to purchase this scope mount: YOU WILL NEED TO BUY SPACERS AND A LOCK WASHER...
The newly designed mount doesnt come with the neccesaary hardware. It will shoot way too low and you won't get to within 6" of zero. Once you purchase and install washer spacers, it will work great...but the manufacturer isn't being completely honest..neither is the retailer...but they are probably following the manufacturer specs...
It's an inconvenience but it can be easily fixed...buy purchasing a couple of washers and a lock washer at the local hardware store...shouldn't have to though

I didn't need anything. I just put the mount on top and used the screws that's already in the BB gun. It didn't come with anything either, the washers or that brass spacer.
@@juarezderrick9647 Same here. No washers, no spacers needed. I didn't even have to touch the windage or elevation dials. Shoot straight but as for the Adult Red Ryder, its sucks. The Avante and either pump guns rarely misfire. The Ryder if finicky, misfires even when I raise the barrel and cock the lever. It's random. It's also jammed once.
@@supercommando440 all of my older kids own their own guns but my 6 year old has a rough Rider, 2 22's and a .25 Raven pistol.
I have one of these mounts for my Red Ryder, but haven't installed it yet. Glad I found your video. Mine is made by a Mr. Brice, and I bought it a few months ago. Love that monster scope you put on it!! I intend to put a 4 power scope, but one with a larger objective than that Daisy scope. I've used those before. My Red Ryder shot from sitting in a chair at about 15-17 feet was able to get me some nice 1/4"-1/2" groups despite having a trigger that might draw blood from my trigger finger. My eyes have got bad enough after 63 years that I can't really use open sights any more, hence the scope mount.
Now you can roleplay as the second gunman on the grassy knoll.

To anyone doing this in 2019, the lasso mount is now totally different. It is secured only by the wood screw at one end, and it tucks under that flexible piece of steel (?) at the other end. There’s a horizontal groove in the middle of the mount where a raised ridge on the gun also keeps it in place.
Someone below noted the gun is going to shoot low with this design, and you need a lock washer or two to raise it. However, the only place to put a lock washer is around that wood screw...there’s no screw or bolt in front...so I assume you can just shim it up with something. More important, if it shoots LOW, you wouldn’t want to raise the rear anyway.
I just this second installed mine and since it’s New Year’s Eve and i already started drinking, I don’t think it’s a good idea to go out and shoot with her now.

It’s next day now, and about to go out back and see if I can zero this.
If it shoots low you want to raise the front of the barrel relative to scope which is done by raising the rear of the scope

@@jordanbrown1337 cool if i were you to be honest I would be shooting pellet guns they are more accurate and shoot like 1000 feet per second check out the router air hawk elite 2 its reliable and it very acurate

I went thru about 11 hundred BB's trying to get a home made scope mount to hold Zero on a. Red ryder...man, I will tell you that it was amazingly accurate considering its a smoothbore BB gun.....I was hitting plastic army men and pirates in the head as 12 plus meters, but my home made mount would move every time I layed it down or sneezed. I will have to buy this
I might put a red dot instead.

Got a red Ryder for Christmas when I was 9. Never fired it since. Still sitting in it's sleeve, cocked and loaded in my basement

um dont leave it cocked dude it dampens the spring wich decreases power I wouldn't do that if I were you but its prob too late it would shoot like 250 fps when its new it shoots 350

Buck will not take it, it doesn’t have the adjustable rear sight
I want to get one of these for my new Adult Red Ryder, but I've read too many reviews. About half say it doesn't fit, the other half say that it works fine; I'm confused. If it does fit the 1938ARR, could you please post a similar install video for the Adult Red Ryder?
It's the same gun as regular red ryder, just longer stock, so it works on adult red ryders.

This will be helpful when I get my bb but how well is the scope? Also that last scope... that was big and made me laugh but really how good is the first scope

Lenley Melvin yea me too but I guess they changed it up you just read instructions on the back of the scope box
GreatCreeper Luevano installed it the way it came and couldnt get the scope within 6" of zero...added my own spacers and lock washer...
They cheaped out with the newly designed feature...I like the notch instead of an acorn nut.. but they need to include the spacers...it needed them before and it still needs them now. It's not as if they changed anything else other than the acorn nut...so why would they think it wouldn't still require the spacers in the rear?

Y'all screwed me I got a John Wayne bb gun from you guys Jennifer Pitts and the barrel was bent and the body pins half of them was missing pyramid air sucks ass plus I had to wait for weeks to get it and it was screwed up so bad you couldn't hit nothing and the stock was loose to

A scope on a red Ryder??? I thought the point was to teach kids safe rifle handling & how to use iron sights? learning to use iron sights is so important for a young shooter, scopes should be learned second after mastering iron sights, & what better way to do that then use a iron sighted red ryder?
Exactly. So first, you teach them how to use iron sights, but later when they are ready, you teach them how to use a scope!
pyramydair I'd think you as a retail, online store, would agree that when a child becomes proficient with iron sights, that they are then ready for a new scoped rifle capable of longer range... maybe a new rifle every Christmas as a child's proficiency increases...

Hey, come on dude!!! I think it is a WONDERFUL thing to have a scope-mount made for such an iconic little air rifle. The things (rifles) cost so little now days you can have one for iron sights and one for a scope. And folks, if you KNOW what you are doing, you will be surprised how well these guns can hit a target. I can't remember the name for a video I watched earlier this year, but there is a man, about MY age (I am 65) who shoots VERY small items he throws into the air with a Daisy Red Ryder that he has had for quite a few years. The video has very few cuts, and he shoots several times in a row without missing. And NO modifications to the gun. Last thought. The gun is NOT meant for 50-yard use. But at 10 meters, it is pretty good hitting what you aim at. I can easily get half-dollar groups. At least with the one I have.

70 dollars for this thing? It's highly unnecessary, and it costs more than the gun itself. Plus, you're not gonna hit a 3 inch group with a Red Ryder from more than 15 yards. So what's the point of a scope on it?
The mount is $19.00. $70 is the kit that contains the air rifle, mount and scope. Besides being fun, this will let you teach your kids how to use iron sights, but later when they are ready, you teach them how to use a scope!.
Scope on Daisy? Not needed.Waste of money and to zero the scope is pain in the arsenal…
