Researchers around the world (in the literature) perform TGA on cement mortar after crushing the fragments of cement mortar 9eith the help of pestle and mortar) serving through the powdered sample through 40 micrometers to 75 micrometer mesh. I have some reservations in that if we do this procedure for preparing the samples to be subjected to TGA, we are either overestimating or underestimating our results because of the inclusion of finer particles of sand that went along with the particles of cement during the sieving process. In other words, I want to ask whether there would be a difference in the results obtained for powdered form of (1) hardened cement paste i.e., only cement and water; and (2) hardened mortar i.e., cement, water, and sand)
Thank you Bob sir for this really informative webinar! 🙂👍
