Corpus is prime time for Texas offshore kayak fishing. Tons of close near shore rigs from port A to bob hall. Come visit sometime!

How many yards of line did that king rip off on its first big run?
If my memory serves me correct maybe about 40% of my spool. I could have slowed it down much quicker but I didn't want to rip the hooks out.

Why do you use such a short gaff ?
Warren Norup For kings more accuracy, and more flexibility on how I want to position her. I have a long gaff also, it just depends on the species.
