I am getting my kayak next spring an old town salty PDL and I am so excited and I am almost 16 so I will be able to drive and go to tournaments here in 🇨🇦 and I am just watching all of your fishing kayak videos lol 😂 can’t wait for next fishing season!
That's awesome and exciting! I appreciate you checking out the videos! I haven't been on an old town but I have friends that have them and heard all good things about those kayaks. I bet, spring can't get here fast enough.
Very tough without a fishfinder. I'm gonna hit up one of my fishing buddies on how to use google maps to mark some of the reefs on there and you should be able to get over the reefs. It will still be challenging without sonar, but you can at least know you're over them.
@@oafishing thanks man. I appreciate that. I really need to get a sonar for my yak. We’re heading to Destin in May for our anual trip, watching your videos got me wanting to head out toward those reefs and get on some triggers or sheepshead haha
@@zacharyscott9146 I got it figured out, not the easiest process, but it works. The FWC website has a list and an interactive map with public reef and wreck numbers myfwc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html?appid=4675e1db32ac43a9a4308e757965d17d which you can pull the coordinates for each reef. The tricky part can be copying and pasting the numbers onto google maps because of formatting. Once the pin populates you can save that pin and/or create a list to which you can add more places to it. I can walk you through it a bit better if you shoot me a message to my Instagram @oa_fishing_
We are coming down the end of December. Do you think there will be any Spanish or Kings around? We will be beach fishing in front of the Jetty East condos. We have Kayaks and a boat but we arent planning to bring them down this trip. You have a nice selection of videos. Just Subbed! Thanks!!
My guess is that would be a long shot. Usually by then the water is colder and the bait has moved out to warmer water and so do the predator fish. I usually focus my efforts inshore in shallow water chasing redfish and trout. If you can get some live fiddler crabs from the bait shop during that time you may be able to target some sheepshead at the jetty point. You may also have some luck targeting redfish off the beach. I will say that fishing can get fairly slow during the winter. Thank you for the sub and I hope the info helps!
Bruh those glasses are legit! What type are they? Happy birthday! Mine is today! I just got home from fishing. Out of commission for videos. All my batteries exploded. 🤦🤷🏼♂️
These are the Oakley Standard Issue Split Shot with the prizm shallow water polarized lenses. Happy Birthday bro! Damn, that's wild! Gotta get you some new batteries pronto.
Great fish man! Question, when you fish the mid bay bridge, I’m guessing you put in at the mid bay shores camp grounds? Is it tough to get the yak to the water there? New to the area and yak fishing, enjoying the channel!
Thank you! Just off to the right of the campgrounds is white point which is Eglin property so you need an Eglin recreation pass to be in that area. You can get the pass online at their eglin isportsman website. Getting the kayak to the water is fairly easy depending where you park. It's even easier if you have a kayak cart with sand wheels. I'm glad you're enjoying the channel!
Love that drag screaming!
It had me pumped up!
Wow OA!!! Thats a true workout lol!!! Paddling, waves and a giant fish!!! Keep doing what your doing bro 💯
This is the kind of fishing I truly love bro! I'm always gonna keep at it!
Good job man love the slow motion shots.
It's just crazy how quickly some things happen and I gotta slow them down to really capture. I'm all about a slow motion shot too!
Wow. Great mackerel!
Thank you!
Nice king from the yak!
Thanks bro!
Outstanding job Big O in all aspects. Wow! 👊

Gorgeous day out there and what a beautiful fish. Wishing I could be somewhere warmer fishing at the moment!
I had to take advantage of the sunny day. Warm weather is why I like FL. I can fish all year comfortably most of the time.
Beautiful catch, dude!
Thanks dude!
Nice king!
Thank you!👊
Do you have any tips of navigating to the reefs via kayak without a fishfinder?

heck yeah baby. Love the fight and how many lures you went through to get here. Way to not give up!
I'm usually too stubborn to switch lures but I'm glad I did this time. Thank you!
Nice!!!!!!
Thanks!

How did you find Henderson beach empty?! I’ve lived in Niceville almost all my life, whenever I go out there it’s packed!
This was on a weekday in November, so not a lot of people. During the summer it's insane.
Awesome!
