It was a video blocker with a customizable blacklist that could block by channel name or title keyword, which I got in order to filter out videos/channels I didn't like (many of which were geared towards young kids, thanks to a younger sibling possibly browsing with my account in the past; I don't think they know my credentials, though). It might be that the extension is no longer supported (attempting to visit the store page resulted in a 404 error), and that a recent change to Chrome or TH-cam might have caused an incompatibility problem. At least, that's the best I can currently under from what I found. (I swear the extension had its filter-by-channel feature stop working correctly even before that; maybe that was around the time the support apparently ended...)

The book was delivered three days later. So I put it under the Christmas tree, read it over he holidays and was over with it. Yesterday they finally answered. IIRC, sonic&knuckles doesn't even give you an error message, it gives you a level select. This was done to pass sega's stress testing. When the game inevitably encountered an error, going to a level select allowed the game to clean up whatever may have caused the error and made it seem like the game hadn't actually crashed to whichever sega employee was testing the game.
