Houston TX has Kolaches in about every gas station, the sausage + Jalapeno ones have a Jalapeno cooked on the top of it. I'm in Des Moines IA now, nothing even comes close except "Coach's Kolaches" which is ran by a black guy from Houston lmao. I went there, it was good, he is in Urbandale now instead of Windsor Heights, not a big deal to drive north if you come into town.

Here in Texas Kolaches are very common. Donut shops have them. You can even find them at gas stations and grocery stores.
