- Day 8 and we ride from Bergen to the Grossglockner in Austria, one of the coolest things we have ever done. The Harleys suffer a bit, with the Deluxe burning rubber - we later discovered it had got so hot it melted one of the LED strips.

I did the same ride last August with 2 other friends and I can say fantastic roads with exceptional landscapes, good you managed to convey the same feeling as when you ride it on a motorcycle, it was not easy or obvious ... however I allow myself with great discretion and respect ..... fantastic the last image with she and the crown of mountains in the background ..... speechless and breathless

Sounds like the same trip. Slovenia was incredible. We went to lake bled and the caves, then onto Croatia, then back through the Italian dolomites and into Switzerland. It was unbelievable. What incredible scenary. Everyone talks about the Canadian Rockies which I have driven many times. I'm honestly don't but think they compare to the Alps for sheer beauty. But,there is definitely more wildlife that will eat you in the Rockies. LOL

It's was so good! My first Mountain Pass experience, and loved every minute of it even though my bike was melting haha. Well it was just a LED light strip that was installed correctly.

You really Should Amanda. I loved Austria. The Grossglockner was amazing but the roads leading up to it and one the way to the Hotel were some of the best roads we went on. And wait till you see the cable car ride!!!

@@BunnyKingHogs Between northern California and here in Washington state I think we have 11 or 12 active volcanoes. I lead a memorial ride to Mt St Helens every May for the victims of the 1980 eruption.
I'm in Washington state too, and there is some resemblance for sure. This video reminds me of the trek up to Rowena Crest Viewpoint near the Hood River area.

Thanks Stephen, welcome to the channel. We loved the day, spectacular! I really hope we go again as we want to maybe take more time riding some of the other routes and go to the Glacier (We were in the car park, just didn't realise it was there.)
Just a point of interest about the 'no surprise harley has a problem' thing. I travelled 14000 miles throughout europe on a HD lowrider (2004) and it never missed a beat.
The sound through the valleys and specially the Gorges in the Parc du Vercor -- Awesome.
Wow, that sounds incredible. We did 3750 miles in 21 days, not bad for newbie riders. I can imagine, the sound from the pipes echoing in the valleys was amazing. Had no major issue with the bikes. Mine melted an LED aftermarket strip light that we had installed (that was the burning smell) and the Road King aftermarket hand grip, the glue melted off the rubber end it was so warm 40c+ at times.
Yep, i just ran 3200 mile trip on my Streeglide, ran like a sewing machine, it did use about 1 quart of oil but super reliable and so enjoyable 2 ride.
@@BunnyKingHogs Well, sounds like an amazing amount of miles for 'newbies' - which of course you are not - certainly now anyway.
From experience I can highly recommend the Provence region whether it be the Camargue (early summer for the pink flamingos) or the 'petit st Bernard pass..... everyone will have a list of favourites, but you guys have a lot of special sights to see ahead of you. :-)

It connects Bruck in the state of Salzburg with Heiligenblut in Carinthia via Fuscher Törl and Hochtor Pass at 2,504 m (8,215 ft). The road is named after the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain. Built as a scenic route, a toll is assessed for passage.

I used to be a van driver for a motorcycle main dealer and had to rescue a lady who hit a deer on her 400 scooter it did quite a bit of damage to the scooter but she was perfectly alright luckily and a friend of mine crashed his scooter as a fox run out in front of him from nowhere

I'm in Peterborough. Been riding 40yrs now. Harley's for the last 17 and wouldn't ride anything else. Been to virtually every part of Europe and in 2014 took my old 92 Evo accrossthe USA with 3 other mates. 6,600 miles in 5 weeks. Still got that but needing comfort as I get older I have a 2017 Ultra Ltd Low for the long hauls 👍

@@Nieuwhollands Same, started in Stellenbosch, then Joburg. Carolyne was in Joburg, in fact she lived down the road from me but moved to the UK when she 8 or so. I came over in my 20s.
That is just so beautiful. With patches of snow on the mountains what made your bike get so hot?
It was a stunning ride with amazing scenery. It was a very warm day, in the 30c range, colder up in the mountains. The bike did get hot but it was an LED strip under the bike that started to melt.
@@BunnyKingHogs I'm not too sure about those LEDs. The Dyna I just got had LED bulbs in the tail lights. They were not working right. When I looked at them 1 had either been glued in the socket, or as I really suspect had gotten too hot and melted the plastic in the socket effectively gluing the base to the socket! I got some LED adapters with circuitry in them to replace them. If these mess up I'll just go back to the 1157 incandescent bulb. Be safe my friend.
@@EasyRiderGreg The LED strip was underneath the bike, One of the cable ties had come off so it was touching the engine. We discovered the issue a few days later
