    As someone who has hunted and trapped all my life, I really enjoyed seeing this video. Urban people just see how “cute” the furry critters are and don’t understand the damage they do to populations of quail, turkey or other populations.

      Urban people think coyotes are fuzzy and cute also. Until they are chewing on their kids and pets.

      I fully believe in hunting and trapping, but I could never have the arrogance to think I am keeping nature in balance. 😮

    • @margelittleboy
      @margelittleboy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DetourswithFrank I guess I need to understand how trying to undo the causes of over population by one species which was caused by destroying the animals that preyed on them, thus allowing, in this case, the raccoon to over populate, which then affects not only turkeys, but pheasants, grouse & many other species from being able maintain a stable population, is being arrogant. All of the creatures used to be important for the environment, but man & his ego for that almighty trophy, not just meat on the table, decided let’s try this & totally screw up what was once an abundance of a variety of wildlife. We’ve not only destroyed the wildlife populations, but also their habitats. Some are becoming wise and realizing that there less invasive ways to work the land & over time the land recovers and becomes more valuable & productive. Nature returns & a more balanced environment coexist. It’s always been a battle of animal vs man on land usage & sadly the animals lost & are losing daily. It would be terrific if mass hunts were not needed, but at this point it is. That won’t always be the case, at least that is my hope. I don’t mind a good hunt, I do mind the extinction of species because of man’s stupidity.

    In my experience, a raccoon can have up to 4 babies at a time. Now, if all 4 are females, that is 16 babies possible. No wonder there is an over population of them. Never corner a raccoon, it will tear you up. They don't just snarl at you...they can and will attack you.

    Hey! Great video! I follow an IA fur trapper who uses both dp and the [connabear] traps, so I was familiar with the process. What I DIDN’T know was about the ‘extra’ value of the essence and skulls. I know the trapper is happy to get skunks, but I assumed it just the fur. I bet he knows about the rest, but not if he bothers to harvest them.
    Man, I could tell you were in distress near the end of the video!! Sorry ‘bout that, but it did look funny…since it warn’t ME hahaha! I’ve used the Dawn, soda and peroxide mix on dogs and it really does work 👍😁! The tomato juice joke was a ripper!! Good one! And supper is ready, so bye for now. 💕👍

    Daniel Arms and Houston from the channel Arms Family Homestead in Oklahoma are about to start some trapping of raccoons etc. Trapping is in his family roots. He was named after Daniel Boone! lol They want to do their part in helping birds like turkeys etc live and thrive. Men may think I’m weird since I like this type of video. I do find this interesting plus anything that saves wildlife that my late husband hunted is a way I can honor his memory. He loved being in the woods whether he was hunting or not and I shared the love right along with him. He now lives with Jesus bc brain cancer took him. I have the peace only God offers and I’ll join him one sweet day.
    My husband called planes like that puddle jumpers and he hated them profusely!

    Brother David, I'll tell you what would have freaked me right out, when the craft was taxiing to take off, seeing that flap of window molding (weather strip?) flapping in the wind. Loose stuff on something like an airplane, make me nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Plus I swear, when you were taking off, it was 2" & when you landed, it was about 3 & A half inches (shudder). Do you eat a trash panda? I have kin that do or have. They say it CAN be made to taste decent, but none brags about how tasty they are. You're God's Master Craftsmanship. Be blessed!

    I flew a lot in the army, did a little scuba diving as well, as you come down and the pressure builds, you can hold your nose shut and snort with nowhere for the nasal pressure to go and it will "pop" your internal ear pressure and equalize the inside and outside pressure. You can suck in as you go up in altitude and do the same thing in reverse
