@sarahtushemereirwetwine3722 I was working in a store on a military base during summer break. It was after my first year at university. He was stationed there in flight school. He walked in one day to buy something and kept walking in every day til I went out with him. I did and the rest is history. 44 year anniversary this Sept.

This was so fun to hear. Thank you for sharing, Scott and Kelli! My husband and I prayed for each other as well and saw God's hand in it from the very start. We met in July and were married in November. Our marriage has only gotten stronger over the years. All praise and glory to God!!

Can someone PLEASE tell me WHY it is SO VERY easy peasy for some people to meet, hit it off BIG TIME, fall deeply in love and the rest is history?! WHY does this work out SO VERY easily for some people and NEVER for ME?!??!?!?!
I lol’d hard at “I’m going to tell this story because if Scott tells it, it’ll only be 5 minutes long and he’ll leave out important details.” while also asking if he recalls certain things and he shrugs, lol! My husband and I have a cutsy love story too and we’re the same way. Glad you shared your story.
I was single and never dated anyone before my husband. I felt embarrassed because I was thinking too worldly. I assumed I wasn't desirable because everyone around me had dated at least one person.
I went to a new church and prayed to God to not let me be boy crazy and hope to find a boyfriend. I prayed that I was going there to grow closer to God. However God put my husband there and had him walk right up to me. I tried to ignore him because I went to that church not looking for my husband. He talked me into being his dance partner because we were both short 😅(opposite to you guys).
Two days later he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. After 3 weeks of dating he blurted out "when we get married..." I don't remember the rest of what he said but guys know sooner than girls if they want to marry.
We had to wait 4 years to get married because he went to the air force academy and you're not allowed to be married and be a student there.
Something a lot of people don't understand you can get married and continue college. If he was at a regular college we 100% would have gotten married and not waited 4 years.
You are going to play this at you 50th anniversary 🥲

I met someone wonderful, have mutual friends, and just the dream, and it all feels unbelievable. And I'm afraid thinking what if it's too good to be true? But anything is possible. And everything is flowing respectfully, sweetly, romantically now. Was so mechanical at first but now it's like spring is budding rapidly. It's only been over a week or so 🙏🏼 Loved your testimony and getting to the point. Wow 😯 incredible. She's so sweet and bubbly, and he's so So reserved and manly. It's such a great contrast, what a lovely couple 😊❤️

I was taking a homeschool lunch break and listening. My 16-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter ended up beside me at the computer and totally enraptured with your story. They needed to hear this so much. They often comment, with a bit of concern in their eyes, on how they will ever find a Christian spouse with like values. We always remind them God will guide them and they have to look to Him to do so. You both have a fantastic story that was so edifying to hear.
Also as a side note, nothing would have induced my chicken self to jump off that cliff...my heart fluttered just watching that. 😛

Sooo thankful for this testimony!! I had to send it to my single friend. I’m 26 and also been in this gift called singleness. Which is a very beautiful gift and season. Never dated or had a boyfriend either. So that part really encouraged me. I’ll keep abiding in this gift until the Lord sees fit to walk me into the next gift, marriage.

Imagine a world where you have limited resources and you do the best you can and you build a house for yourself and someone comes to your house on a visit to "help you" and then they go around saying your house is "disgusting" and "worse than what you imagined" on the Internet. That is essentially what you did here, sister. I am sure you meant no intentional harm but be mindful that you are talking about someone's home. I am not from Africa nor am I of African decent but I am tired of seeing far too many well-meaning missionaries alienating people. We are taught to speak to and about others with empathy. Would you say these words directly to the people who lived there? It was "disgusting"? Would you want someone to come to your home and speak about it that way? There is always someone with more access than us. Do unto others as you would want done unto you. It is ok to choose more filtered and gracious words that don't make another person feel less than.
The Internet is a pretty global space, those exact people whose community this is could watch this and feel heartbroken and marginalized. And many of them are in this place of poverty because of generations of European colonization that stripped the land of natural resources, broke down existing infrastructure and over taxed them. Look up the GDP of some of these African nations before colonization and after, you'll see the impact colonization had on their wealth access. Let's have some empathy! We all make unknowing mistakes, let us grow from this and be more mindful when speaking about others' and their communities. Blessings to you!
Well to be honest, I'm 49 and VERY upset that God has NOT blessed with that so-called VERY special someone. Ever since the 9th grade, I KID YOU NOT, I have had the ABSOLUTE end-all, be-all MOST DIFFICULT TIME simply being able to find/meet a date or girlfriend or someone special. This has NEVER been easy for me no matter what and I have TOLD God that I do NOT appreciate this!! When I see photos on Facebook of my friends with their significant other and smiling on their adventures at the beach or the mountains or Disney World, I get SO VERY irritated and jealous and I want my turn to come BEFORE I'm an elderly man.
On top of all this, churches in general have FAILED singles and turned a blind eye to them. It's getting more and more difficult for me to hold out hope that I will EVER find/meet someone special. Truly and honestly, I feel that God has let me down BIG TIME and then some.
God is a loving father, He will not let you down. Think positively and spend time with Him in prayer and studying His word. He has that someone special for you.
I’m so sorry u feel this way. Your feelings are real. I have felt this way before and have been upset with not having a man of GOD. I would keep your head up. Also reading exodus-deuteronomy is a great read because it describes how the Israelites came out of their season of Israelites. I’ll be praying for u today

I am 21 years old and I have never in my life even kissed a man because I’ve had a dream on my heart that it will be only with my husband one day. It can be very discourging to hold unto a dream like that espically being a 21 yr old Christian in Miami now but honestly it sucks even more when I lose hope and pout so I’m trusting GOD that HE is faithful and I’m trusting HIS word that HE sees and hears me! I really don’t think GOD wants me going around and entertaining a bunch of men anyways espically if I’m not interested in them. With that being said, I still believe that GOD will work a miracle in life. Even for the married people, this life is temporary and their marriages won’t exist in Heaven. Pls know that he hasn’t forgotten about you. HE cares for u and I care for your feelings. I want u to be able to live out your desire for marriage so I will genuinely pray on your behalf.

There are parts of the United States that are EQUALLY disgusting just as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Kenya, Zanzibar and MANY other parts of Africa are well developed and as stunning if not more stunning than places like California, Montana,etc.. It makes me wonder how your interaction was with the locals during your “mission”…I pray to God to guide your thoughts before you make such insensitive remarks..Praying for you and your family 🙏🏾
