🙄 On April 13th this month, the Japanese government issued a 'J-ALERT' (just like the UK one) to the people of Hokkaido. Indeed it was a red flag. I'm always suspicious of nonsensical things like this. So, I turned mine off and removed the sim and battery. I turne it on 3 days later. I alerted someone who lives nearby that I'd turned it back and they rang me. No sooner had I said "HELLO" then the phone turned OFF. Is this the governments way of saying "SC*EW YOU FOR TURNING YOUR PHONE OFF"? After all, some people said that they'd heard that if you REFUSE the alert that phones will not work. So, I;m left wondering. After all, I am now having a succession of problems since then. Three days ago ALL my contacts vanished and had to be PAINSTAKINGLY input again. Then the ring tones ALL vanished and they TOO had to be installed again from SD card. Then the ring tone I had ASSIGNED to someone (so I know who it is purely by the ring) had gone to default ring tone. I feel it HAS to be the government. After all, this NEVER happened before. If it continues I'll simply smash the da*n thing. After all, I am NOT a phone zombie - unlike most who are like 5-year-olds walking round with them constantly up to their ears or held out in front of them. It's time that this was seen as an illness and recognised as a form of OCD where most people are totally OBSESSED with these horrible things. I don't even need it and I'm waiting with my hammer and if anymore faults occur, my hammer will have some fun with the phone. I HATE the things and i DO NOT trust this government!
Dear iPhone users: Simply turning off Extreme and Severe alerts Notifications may not work. Go to “Home” section in Notifications and turn off notifications there as well. Thank you for reading this.
You're right but don't be too worried. They're not doing this proactively either - they've reluctantly and belatedly capitulated to pressure from joint emergency services and civil protection agencies to implement a workable population warning system that's long overdue and common in other countries for over a decade. This isn't a government initiative so I think we can relax.

Well i presume since i live in the 10% areas where we do not get very good internet or mobile phone signals, we are expendable. What will I be doing at 3:00 PM on Sunday? I will be enjoying the fact that I do not own a mobile phone.
Am I the only one who didn't receive an alert?
Same here
Not everyone got it. Only people above iOS 14.5 and above android 11
Disabled it ages ago.
Not interacting with this manipulative contract
didnt even come, good job

DO NOT DISTURB ME ON ST GEORGES DAY 3PM
I was so scared I forgot about this
That scared me so much even though I knew it was coming 😭
Same with me! I had a heart attack too

…yeah, let’s worry about extreme weather, but don’t worry about antagonising a nuclear power
Can’t see how a message is gonna save us from an incoming nuclear attack.
Yeh the russkies need to stop antagonising all the western nuclear powers... silly russkies
John Connor: _No problemo._
My phone literally says in advanced settings "turn off/on emergency alerts".
It’s not for extreme weather that’s rubbish it’s a ww3 alert obviously.
It’s almost time! I hope you’re prepared!
You are so right , people in this country are neive and the government are preparing us for their warxxx
Yeah iv got me candles love
Why on earth would we need this in the UK? More to this than just extreme weather alerts.
Oh get a grip! It's another way to control you!
Its a scam so they can monitor your phone..
@ studio, simple answer though….don’t have a phone😊
@@princebuster93 Some people are required to have mobile phones for their jobs so it's not simple anymore.
What happens if they actually fire a missile during this test?
That's the one event the government won't warn you about

Dear iPhone users:
Simply turning off Extreme and Severe alerts Notifications may not work. Go to “Home” section in Notifications and turn off notifications there as well.
Thank you for reading this.
Or be cool like me who stopped updating phone when Covid hit.

The government never does anything proactively, I'm worried.
If you have an iPhone just go to settings > notifications then scroll to the bottom. You can turn both emergency alerts off. Takes 10 seconds lol.
Rather than spend money on this why not spend it on sorting out flood defences in areas that are subject to floods?
lol i think the costs are a little different
@@princealbert123 Personally I think it's just a test of public compliance. I keep these alerts disabled.

Thats because you are well controlled.
Oh now I get it because I was playing with my friend and he got it done a lot of cash on the church right now
1:22 You don’t need 5G nor 4G coverage to send a notification.
I had it I got scared
Mine went off. However I was in Superdrug and they had music on so I didn't hear it.

My phone didn’t work and it’s a brand new phone. My husband who has the same one worked at about 3.20pm. I checked that my notifications were on.
My phone is 3G, should I upgrade to be safe? 😂
You will probably be safer 😂

Controlling people… no need of reaching to phones…. For that sense.
Is this in Australia to?
Never follow main stream media, so had no idea about it. Also we have no signal where we live, so the phones do not normally work. Just had the emergency alert and only one phone worked, 3 others did not receive the alert. How does the government know who gets it or not. Well i presume since i live in the 10% areas where we do not get very good internet or mobile phone signals, we are expendable. Since the government have promised for many years that rural areas will get better internet and phone signals, but have done nothing about it, and now with the move from the standard land lines, not going to be able to have them in the future, it will only get worst.
