And one was stray bullet in police practice what killed security guard. 122 cases use gun in ten years as taking gun out of holster and threating people with one counts also as use though you never actually shoot.

As a Finn I can tell you we have a VERY different environment for the police to work in. We have almost nonexistent organized violent "gang" crime, or criminal culture that idolizes killing police officers. Guns are very rare among the population, mostly bolt action rifles for hunting or marksmanship. The only cases the police really has to face weapons is either the occasional drunkard with a kitchen knife, or some even more drunk old man threatening to shoot the neighbors' cat with his shotgun. 99.9% of the time they aren't trying to actually kill anyone, rather pulling off such a stunt to get the attention of the system and let society know they are in a dark place and need help. Compared to the USA for example, where here is lots of gang culture idolizing the murder of police officers, and anyone can buy a gun off the supermarket. It's night and day. If you want to compare Finnish police shooting statistics to other countries, you also have to compare the work environment. For example, look up the stats of how often US officers get shot at or killed on duty.
did the police man actually shot him? because i didnt see the gun being fired , dont most finnish police use stun guns and if they have to use real guns they have to report it to the police department?
Yes, the officer shot him because the guy charged him with a knife at close range. It doesnt show that in the video though. It’s really rare for a Finnish cop to use a gun indeed and each gunshot from the police leads to an investigation regarding whether it was necessary or not.
@@loolya3 yes, I think they are trained to hit primarily legs and other non-lethal places. But they are of course allowed to shoot lethally aswell if the situation actually endangers the officer’s life. If someone opens fire towards the cops for example. But this is extremely rare
