May have been a transmission issue. Seemed like there may have been issues getting into third gear. Regardless he just stuck with the chase, forcing an error without making a fatal one of his own.
It's worth noting that it can be really hard to hear/feel the bike bouncing the rev limiter with so much wind and the sirens. It would already take a pretty skilled rider to shift absolutely optimally. I'm sure the adrenaline of being in such a high speed chase didn't help either - the amount of concentration required for that kind of riding might leave you forgetting to shift a couple times.

Unless the guy getting chased murdered a man, I don't see any justification for the officer's chasing him like this, and aiding in the reckless endangerment of innocent bystanders.
Well, he was convicted of homicide in 2002 and shot someone in the leg with a shotgun in 2014 among other things so yeah, it could have been in the realm of possibilities. :)

finnish police dont have own helis, they borrow helis from finnish border patrol. But border patrol cant always supply heli very fast and this could happen.

What bike was the criminal on ? what model? and was it having something to adjust its weight or such the things that were coming out from either side of that bike?
Criminal looked to be on a Harley V-rod. Those things coming out either side were the passenger's legs.
Charming Charmer that v rod is fast as fuck he was getting distance with a pillion on back, and the cops bike sounds like a big 4cyl, maybe an FJR or Concours, which are fast fucking bikes. The cop rode with some real skill though, he has some brass balls to get after it like that
