Hello there, indeed it was a tense moment, but still one of those exciting moments too where you check the record button is pressed, the auto focus matches settings, camera actually switched on etc. Then as soon as i stopped recording, checking back to make sure I filmed it. Thank you for watching and for your kind comment 👍◕‿◕
Hello again my good friend, indeed it needs protecting 24/7 and many get injuries, mostly superficial and healable...although sometimes, sadly fatal. Thank you as always Manu. 👍◕‿◕
Wow. They were concentrating so much on each other that they got so close!! Just wow. Brilliant to film from so close Jane. I bet your heart was in your mouth and glad that the tree was there!!
Hi Dave and Sue, I hope all is well with Florrie! I could see from a short distance that there were 2 already with horns locked and so as I approached, there were 3 trees to use as cover and possible protection. Nervous excitement is the best way to describe how I felt, being so close to testosterone-fuelled Stags in the mood to fight. If there were no tree I think I'd have needed hospital treatment! I'm hoping to find another spare day to return next week. Thank you as always, my dear friends. 👍◕‿◕
Wow. Fantastic captures of the stags fighting and walking near each other. It was frightening to imagine how vulnerable you were as they were watching you... Glad everything went well! Best regards
Hello my friend, who can tell what is going through a testosterone-fueled Stags mind when it is readying to fight a very evenly matched Stag but then breaks off for a second and stares right at you? Thankfully, I managed to spook the aggressor and his rival followed him away. Thank you for your kind comment again my friend. 👍◕‿◕
Hi Anita, OMG yes, and there are some individuals that are just stunning! There is 1 white Fallow Deer and 1 chocolate brown one and I have been trying to film them both close together (they were one day out of the 4 days I have been at this location) but I have not even managed to get close enough with a big lens! I'm pleased that you enjoyed this video so much as there will be more lol. It just takes so so long to sort out around 100 videos and edit bits out etc to make 'a compilation' type video. I still have many videos to look back at from days 1,2,3 and 4. I don't have time at the moment and am hoping to be back there again next week and also back to the woodlands which are so much more challenging (4 days there without enough footage for 1 video) It is the busiest time of year for me on YT and has been for around 5 or 6 years now. But I am also attempting to decorate my daughters room at home, as well as other things lol. Thanks again Anita. 👍◕‿◕
What an incredible experience watching the red deer rut! The parallel walking looked intense and a bit scary indeed. Thanks for sharing this amazing wildlife moment! 😊🦌 💖💖 Subscribed and liked! 💖💖
Good morning, my virtual friend! I am delighted with these wonderful shots. I also photograph the red deer rut. But in our region they live in the forest and it is extremely rare to photograph them in open areas. It also appears that the farm where you filmed the video takes selective breeding of its animals seriously. Males are unusually beautiful. I wish you many interesting shoots in the future!
Hello my friend, I have spent 5 full days in woodland over the last few weeks and it has been the usual struggle to get close enough to film the Deer, before they spot you first and trot away. So a few days out at 'Tatton Park' has made a great change for me. The Deer are easy to get close to, but in all my excitement, I seemed to regularly put myself into dangerous situations. But it's just incredible to sometimes get close enough to look them in the eye! As for the Stags, I'm so pleased they are allowed to grow so big and actually live their lives out, rather than just being shot for meat. Thank you as always for your supportive comments, my good friend. Wishing you a wonderful Wildlife weekend! 👍◕‿◕
Hi Stefanie, it was on my mind that several people had been attacked that week and it was reported the Deer were more aggressive this year than any other. But it is a wonderful experience being so close... despite it being scary too! thank you as always, my dear friend. 👍◕‿◕
Wow, that was intense! No wonder it felt scary. They sound like lions and just look at those antlers. So glad you were still able to capture great close-ups! 👍20🙂
Hello again my friend, it was intense yes and there was nowhere for me to go once they started to parallel walk. With other testosterone fuelled Stags all around, being by a tree was my safest place to be. They do sound like Lions yes and once it starts to go dark and they all roar from different directions, you could close your eyes and imagine you were in the Serengetti, lol. I am hoping to go back to this location again next week. It feels truly amazing and a real priviledge to be able to get so close.... at your own risk. thank you as always for your sincere comments my good friend. 👍◕‿◕
@@WildlifeBirdsUK You are welcome, my friend. I can imagine how intimidating it must have been with the stags. Thanks again for your amazing stories and your passion for nature. I do enjoy your videos.
Hi Gaz, ltns my friend, I hope you and your limbs are good and you are getting out and about. I'm glad you enjoyed watching these impressive mammals. Thank you for your continued support and kind comment. 👍◕‿◕
@@GazianoOutdoors Thank you Gaz, yes, at the moment things are pretty good... changeable, but pretty good and I've no complaints... ride the good feeling as long as I can. 👍◕‿◕
Morning Jane was around that way this morning - plenty of action couple of 3 minutes or so locking of antlers - video is great and yes can feel very lonely when out there and this year between cars and people they have tagged they are running up quite a count !!!
Hi Graham, it was nice to meet you and thank you for sharing info'. If I lived closer, I'd be there most days during the rutting season. You left at a good time yesterday, as nothing happened and the cloud coming over destroyed the light in no time. People who think they are somehow 'tame' at Tatton Park should stay well away during the rutting season for their own good. Those that have been attacked are unlucky but I'm guessing most would have been avoidable. It's the number of cars that have been attacked that is a concern too. The huge Stag roaring on the edge of the car park road actually went for my car as I was driving past, with his 'woof, woof ,woof' sound that they make when chasing another Stag... I screamed past him in second gear and he was in the middle of the road roaring, as I drove off. You sure need your wits about you! Thank you for your comment and I'm hoping to get back there next week some time. Mon/Wed/Thurs look ok at the moment, so I'll keep my eyes on the weather. 👍◕‿◕
@@WildlifeBirdsUK yes I know the one he woofed at me as I went past but they are very territorial and worked up !! Have put a couple of photos on my website and will be included a short note about your own woof woof - heart rate is now normal 😂😂
Hi Jane called down yesterday afternoon - place was emptying out as the sun was getting lower !!!! thought Daves car was in carpark did not see him - but a super sized herd over far side - which by 16:30 started moving back to their usual spots - lots of roaring and running about - so still mileage for more footage i would guess - it is as if it has not really started yet r maybe this year it will be over before actually starting - anyway good luck this week if you get down
@@grahammanson9409 That seems to be the pattern for what I have seen and moreso for what others have said too. The general feeling seems to be that they are a week or so later with the rut this year, but considerably more aggressive. Maybe there will be a sudden explosion of locking horns, as more hinds come into season... maybe tomorrow... fingers crossed. Thanks for the good wishes. The same goes for you of course and perhaps I'll see you there tomorrow... thank you for the update too, much appreciated. 👍◕‿◕
Phew! You must have good stabilising software to get rid of your hands shaking while holding the camera. I bet you had thoughts about climbing the tree as a last resort😐But all's well that ends well👍
Hello my friend, it was pretty scary, considering there was not another person about if something did go wrong. I was looking at how quickly I could get up the tree, yes... there was nowhere else to hide behind, lol. It really doesn't look too scary on video, but being there, plus the aggressive roaring etc was totally different to the Deer I am used to filming, about a mile up the side of the fells and mountains. Indeed, all's well that ends well and I went home with plenty of video of these fabulous beasts! 👍◕‿◕

The harem must be protected. The wear and tear that the deer have during the rut is impressive 👌👏👍 26 Good job
