Personally I think it was one off the best released motorcycles off the last year,, it's got everything,, great video,,☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Good video Chopsy, looks like you had fun. Never ridden on a track, it’s on my bucket list however when you look into it it’s quite expensive. Keep up the good work
Great to meet you , Bike looked fab, shame weather was a bit naff, but you still looked good out on Track 👍👍🏍🏍📸📸 Thanks for the 2 second part in your video 👍👍I look forward to the Road Test on a better day hopefully all the Best 👍
That little snippet from Snetterton at the end is killer. Funny now, as we know everything was ok with you and Kawasaki. That section of the track is a teeth gritter for sure.
Nice vid Chops. The XSR900GP is a stunning looking bike & is a decent enough track tool as well supposedly. Although, wouldn't know myself but regardless, it's too nice to potentially bin on a track day imo. However, either way, I think the R9 will be quite a bit sharper, as it should be. Very much looking forward to your review of it as well.
Nice one chopsy , the GP is defo growing on me love the Marlboro colour scheme , and sound s great , good smooth biking not worth the risk of stacking it mate .👍👍
Just posted my review of the XSR900GP after a two week loan from Yamaha… didn’t quite have the budget for a track day on it but I loved it, the perfect road bike
@LambChopRides although I've not had a single issue with the stock tyres, I've never really liked the feel from them. What would be your go to sports tyre these days if it were your money?
XSR900 GP is a nice machine, I will be changing from my MT-09 SP gen 4 to the R9. Wonder if the R9 is just one model or if there will be an M version down the line.
On my shopping list for next year, along with the R9. The comments on the feel of stock brakes on a lot of the Yamahas does concern me! However, I want something more of a road bike to be used for track days.
@@Mike_P646 Yes, but I would prefer the riding position of the XSR GP overall, and lots of the new Yamaha bikes seem to get the same wooden feeling brakes comment. If it was mainly for track use, it would obviously be the R9.
Almost an R9? 1) Different brakes 2) Different suspension 3) Different Frame 4) Different swingarm 5) Different Sub-frame 6) Different controls In fact, the only thing the same is probably the engine. It isn't even close to an R9

Couldn't agree more! 😁👍
@@LambChopRides two great videos and I’ve got a new bike ha ha😂
I love the vintage racebike look of the fairings
Great to meet you and your nephew mate. Weather held out for a few hot sessions in the end. Hope you both had a good day. All the best, Mr. RR.

It’s going to be a long winter again, I’m thinking I might try and get into the final trackday at Oulton next week. Great on board footage Chopsy!

Chops your living the dream bro! 😎
Great on board footage ❤. Nice to see what this bike offers on track . Great video Chops . 👍
It will be cool seeing them running side by side.

Thanks Wattie 👍
What a lovely bike, bummer that i got to pick up the missus at work every now and then. Bike sure looks way better with that pillion cover.
Looks like a fun track bike although the weather was not good to you, thks.
“Just had lunch as you can hear”… nearly missed your lunch sound but finally heard it at @12:44 😂
Nice video. Looked like a busy day there
Just posted my review of the XSR900GP after a two week loan from Yamaha… didn’t quite have the budget for a track day on it but I loved it, the perfect road bike
After all that caution on track, Chopsy promptly binned it on the way home 🤣
Looks like you had some fun, I can't wait to get mine to Brands 🙂 And can't wait to see your follow up review of the XSR900 GP
Thanks Pete, bike worked fantastically around there! Just needed better tyres, or tyres I could put complete faith in 👍
@LambChopRides although I've not had a single issue with the stock tyres, I've never really liked the feel from them. What would be your go to sports tyre these days if it were your money?
Nice looking bike, I've seen one in the flesh 👍, looks pretty quick as well
thanks for 2 mins of footage following me :D rubbish day tho, weather was crap, heavy traffic on track, loads of red flags :(
What was you riding?
Cool you finally showed the Kawasaki crash I guess everything is cool with them now 🤔
I love these looks awesome.. great thrash on track Chops :) Pete
The XSR is set up very differently to the R9
🫳🎤
No 💩 Sherlock 😂
@ its elementary my dear Watson.
Yes Mr. Shit.@@daystate123
Bet your fun at parties
If only we got these in the US. One could dream
They make a body Kit in the UK to make an XS-900 to look like a 1984 Yamaha RZ-350 in USA LC-350 in other countries with different body work
Velocity-Moto?
Nice vid chops. Love my xsr900gp it's a great fun bike
Love the video mate 👍
Looks like a 90s race bike with those fairings ,,,,,nice
I rode one of these the other week. Very good for what it is. Bugger the wet on track though chops. Too iffy for me !
Good to meet you I was the one who said I know you 😂
Taking 20 stone around a track is quite a big ask (no pun intended). Think it does pretty damn well tbh.
XSR900 GP is a nice machine, I will be changing from my MT-09 SP gen 4 to the R9. Wonder if the R9 is just one model or if there will be an M version down the line.
xsr 900 GP is the road version of the R9. R9 is the track version of the 900 GP.
Forget the budget chopsy is on👍
Good on you. Looked like fun. It would scare the life out of me. Do they have a really slow group?
Great bike.
Yeah there were two groups below this one 👍
John, just used the discount code for helmet city ..thanks
No problem, glad it helped 👍
Put two YZ or WR 450 pipes under MT09 for exhausts.Wonder if it would work with a tune?
I love that bike.
Was that an R9 in the garage I saw?
So needs a double exit exhaust like the YZR500
On my shopping list for next year, along with the R9. The comments on the feel of stock brakes on a lot of the Yamahas does concern me!
However, I want something more of a road bike to be used for track days.
I have the naked version and the front brake is very strong and comes on quick. The rear works but lacks a bit of feel
@@bryansuperduke1290r the brakes are improved greatly by just replacing the pads. I’m sure there made for longevity rather than performance
R9 has Brembo's👍
@@Mike_P646 Yes, but I would prefer the riding position of the XSR GP overall, and lots of the new Yamaha bikes seem to get the same wooden feeling brakes comment.

@bryansuperduke1290r fair point,a pad change will definitely help if you buy the GP 👍
I would buy this over the R9 without a doubt.
Totally different bikes, but you need to keep making vids, or TH-cam won't keep paying you 👍
Hope you were undamaged at the end, unlike the Kawasaki 😮. I do like the look of the XSR900.
If this ever comes to the USA, someone better hide my wallet😬
I prefer the xsr to the r9
The r9 seems abit of a cop out to me
Apart from being completely different they’re almost the same 🤣🤣
Different geometry, engine mapping, gearing, tyres , fairing ,brakes, swingarm, suspension but basically yeah 😂
We can blame the upcoming ban on petrol engines, why we are seeing the MT09 being used in many many guises, 😢
Sorry, but that was pretty boring and not to the usual Chops standard 😢
What a shithouse keyboard warrior comment. If you can do better......
That bikes pick up looks super slow
But chop’s we Americans drink black coffee
Serious question Choppsy, are you living a bitcoin standard? Im thinking of changing my SDR for an R9 next yr
👍👍
Almost an R9?
1) Different brakes
2) Different suspension
3) Different Frame
4) Different swingarm
5) Different Sub-frame
6) Different controls
In fact, the only thing the same is probably the engine. It isn't even close to an R9
Even the engine has different ecu, fueling and ignition timing.
Missed the main point - the R9 has an aluminium frame. It’s going to be far lighter and stiffer.
R9 is 5kg lighter
Notting like the r9. The r9 is way worse my zx6r has more bop then the r9 and that’s the new flag ship for yam hahah no thank you
Keep crying and the R9 will sell 9 times more than the zx6r and yamaha will update it in the future and there will be a new R1 in 2027.
