    I tried mine out first time today. I found you can peg the outer first and then get the inner up underneath it. Might be a good method in the rain.

    This looks amazing! I have the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 but I've been looking for a pyramid silpoly tent to stand up to wind and rain a little bit better, and I really like the idea of saving the pole weight by using a trekking pole (I always have them with me anyway..)
    I really like tents you can set up inner-only or outer-only, maximum versatility and weight savings depending on the conditions
    Cracking tent, really helpful video, just looked and it's on sale too - winner!
    Happy camping :D

    Not much in the way of ventilation. Looks like it'll get quite wet in there.

    It looks pretty good but the inner looks awfully close to the flysheet with no points to guy the flysheet out further.
    How have people faired with rain and win in it?

      I've modified it and added more pegging points. TBF I never had a problem with it as it was.

      Hi@@mickfitzvalleyandhill Just bungee cord on one of the loop to allow it to centre? Once centred do you then use the standard tie down?

      @@thisbigroadtripyes mate ... works a treat ... if the weather is ok I just stay with the bungee cord ... any threat of wind etc .. on goes the standard cord

      Thanks mate. I've been trying different pole configurations today. But nothing beats the single centre pole 👌

  • @ianshodan

    My issue with this is the lack of additional tie out points, they should also offer a half interior.

    • @mickfitzvalleyandhill

      Good points mate ... I'll probably add those at some stage ... that's if I ever take out in bad conditions 😉

      You have beaten me to it Ian. I think the tent looks great at this price point, considering it comes with an inner, but in windy conditions it would benefit from tie out points on the sides, like the MSR front range has.

    Hi ,please can you check the weight of the total system?
    About some wind in the mountain (not more than 30kmh-40) the one pole design its just enought?
    Thanks for the feedback

      Thanks for the comment. I've seen this style tent in atrocious wind and the design handles it perfectly. Their website says it weighs 1190g

    does the rain come in when you open the front flaps/doors?
    can you cook in the rain?

      Hello mate ... there's no perfect tent ... you can manage all the features you asked about 👌

  • @user-vu7rv1xf1l
    @user-vu7rv1xf1l 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you think the bottom of the inner tent will hold up with a dog & possible claws? Also will a dog send the pole flying or is it well fitted?

    • @mickfitzvalleyandhill
      @mickfitzvalleyandhill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello K and thanks for the comments.
      The pole is under tension when the tent is pegged out. So it's unlikely it can 'knocked over' by your dog.
      The groundsheet is as good as any backpacking tent out there. Even the best can be punctured, but it's never happened to me. I think your dog will be fine in it 😊

    Thanks for that review! What is it like to get in and out of this tent when it rains? With no vestibules and pyramid angles would the rain not get into the inner space easily?

    • @mickfitzvalleyandhill
      @mickfitzvalleyandhill  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All tents have their flaws mate. The lighter you go the more you need to manage them 😉
      If you sleep towards the back or to one side then you have a huge vestibule. I've never had it out in atrocious weather and I don't plan on doing so 👍
