That point before has him overwhelmed and the pressure seems momentarily to stricken him with fear and Djokovic ceases the moment and pulls ahead as Nadal recovers quickly but to late. Wow on quality and craft from both geniuses of the sport

Such a great game just like other finals they both played in whole season of 2011. Pure masterclass from both legends. That year 2011 changed dimension of men's tennis.
These two were on a different level back then. 2011ver. Nadal is kind of underrated because of so many losses against Djokovic, but he was a monster too.
Was just as good more or less but forehand wasn't aggressive as often as 2010 or as deep and he had to change his serve again after developing shoulder problems. Those factors are what made it easier to overcome Djokovic imo even though Djokovic improved as well from 2010.
Even if Nadal lost all the matches in 2011 to Djokovic, he was competitive in all of them. Each match was great level of tennis from both players, Novak just a bit better. Similar to Nadal-Federer rivalry from early years.
Both Djokovic and Nadal have displayed legendary mental toughness at different times and in their own ways. Nadal has had many insane comebacks and grasped victory in tight situations--2019 WTF vs Medvedev(down 1-5 in set 3 and wins 7-6), 2013 USO Final vs Djokovic(came back from 0-40 down 3-4 to win the crucial 3red set and the match), 2005 indoor tournament final vs Lubachic(came back from 2 sets to love), USO 2019 finals(down 15-40 and in danger of being down a break bs Medvedev in set 5), FO 2011 finals(Down 2-5 vs Federer in set 1 and ends up winning the set and the match), Monte Carlo 2008 vs Federer(down 1-5 in the first set and wins the set and the match), AO 2009 finals(feeling exhausted, down 0-40 and in danger of getting broken and losing the crucial 3rd set; Nadal proceeds to hold and win the set and match), AO 09 semis(Down 15-40 in the 5th set and in danger of getting broken and losing the match; Nadal proceeds to get a gutsy hold and break Verdasco and win the match), Madrid 09 semis(down a set and had to save multiple match points to overcome an in-form Djokovic). Djokovic's examples include: 1. USO 2010 semis(down 15-40 and two match points vs Federer in the set; comes up with clutch aggressive play to fight those off and eventually break Federer to win the match). 2. USO 2011 semis(down 15-40 and two match points on Federers serve; hits an all-time great return, breaks Federer and ends up winning the match). 3. AO 12 semis(down 2 sets to 1 against peak Murray and almost broken in the 5th set, where Murray may have served it out). 4. AO 12 finals- down a break to Nadal and exhausted in the 5th set. Djokovic capitalizes on an uncharacteristic error from Nadal and breaks back and proceeds to win what is called one of the greatest matches of all-time. To put this into context, he had played a 5 hour marathon vs Murray the previous match. 5. Wimbledon 2018 semis- the defacto final the match that brought back Djokovic's confidence. Nadal played a ridiculous 3rd set and had several set points. Djokovic somehow finds a way to win it. In the 5th set, Djokovic overcomes two 15-40 games and wins the match. 6. Wimbledon 2019-I think we all know how this one went. A match where Federer played better 95% of the match. Djokovic saved 2 match points and had 0 unforced errors in all 3 tiebreakers which he won. 7. 2020 Dubai semis- He overcame a one set deficit and multiple match points vs Monfils to escape the jaws of death. 8. 2012 French Open- Down 1-2 sets to Tsonga and overcame multiple match points to pull through. 9. 2012 Shanghai Finals- Overcame a one set deficit and numerous match points vs peak Murray. There is definitely more, but these are just some notable examples that come to mind when remembering these two mental giants.

Hard to believe that this particular Masters 1000 series tournament is one along with the Paris Indoor that Rafa has never won. Wheras, Nole and Andre Agassi are the leaders with 6 Miami Open titles apiece.
Hahahah and then Western propaganda says that Fedal is the biggest rivalry in history, hahahaha so funny. Djokovic and Nadal played a million uncertain matches, Federer and Nadal maybe barely 10. Without any dilemma, Djokovic-Nadal is the biggest rivalry in the history of tennis, probably in the history of sports as well.
Also, I honestly don’t think Djokovic is in the conversation of the greatest of all time if 2011 doesn’t happen for him. Imagine how different history would be if Rafa won a couple of those finals in that calendar year alone. This was a season for the ages. Beating Rafa in 7 (SEVEN) different finals (2 grand slam finals) and taking the #1 ranking from Nadal at Wimbledon. Nadal would be ahead of Roger for most grand slam titles of all time if it wasn’t for Novak. Magical year for Novak and one he needed to be involved within the conversation of one of the best ever in the sport of Tennis. Throughout his entire career he has been a thorn on the side of Nadal and Federer, but he’s no scrub Novak knows how to win and I predict he wins 20 grand slam major titles before he retires.
this is, in my opinion, the most important match in djokovic's career and the match that created djokovic we know today; if he lost this one, he'd probably never be able to build the confidence to see himself at the same level as fedal and nadal would've swept the 2011 season, setting himself clearly apart from djokovic and probably federer as well, for the rest of their careers.
I won't agree ..with or without this loss Djokovic could win what he done. He lost wimbledon final to alcaraz but won Cincinnati and US back to back ..so this match win / loss nothing to do with
@@Laland_1196 he was already a legend and arguably the greatest player of all time at wimbledon this year, so he already had the mindset of an all time great. he could've lost all those matches this summer and it wouldn't make a dent in his career. at miami 2011, he didn't have any of those, just back to back titles at AO, where nadal was the overwhelming favourite but got injured, and a title at IW(with a "surprise" win against nadal). this match made him believe he could go head on with federer and nadal.
The heavy defeat that year took Rafa to the next level. He has evolved from playing tennis that targets the opponent's backhand to playing more unpredictable tennis, hitting from side to side. It has also become more aggressive.
2010 Rafa looked like he would be the Titan of tennis for a decade to come…and the very next year everything changed. Final after final Nadal could do nothing to Novak
That has changed now. Djokovic beat Federer in 4 grand slam finals(all were great matches) and Nadal in 4 grand slam finals(2019 AO was a hammering). And Djokovic stopped Federer in grand slams(11) more than Nadal(7).

Most of federer titles are from when Djokovic and Nadal hadnt reach their prime. Last 10 years, when Federer was still 28, because i know some people loves to make excuses about his age:
Djokovic - 16 GS
Nadal - 13 GS
Federer - 4 GS
Wawrinka - 3 GS
Murray - 3 GS
Also Federer has the worst H2H record between the the big 3. Basically his numbers are from the weak era, but eventually everybody will agree Djokovic is the Real GOAT 😉
@@oscardiaz9170 hmmmm. looks i spotted another butthurt djokotard here. god, there are so many of you these days! anyways, ur talking about the weak era? well, let me ask u this: do u think gonzalez, hewitt, nalbandian, etc. are weaker than KEVIN ANDERSON (who djokovic beat in a GRAND SLAM FINAL IN 2018), or SHAPOVALOV (who djokovic beat in a MASTERS 1000 final last year)? huh? do u? and if u think h2h matters, ur IDOL AND DIVINE GOD, NOVAK DJOKOVIC HIMSELF, has a negative h2h against roddick. nadal has a negative h2h against brown. now does that mean that BROWN IS BETTER THAN NADAL?! OR RODDICK IS BETTER THAN DJOKOVIC? and also, u shud be ASHAMED that ur idol and divine, heaven-like role model DJOKOVIC was 1 POINT from defeat at the wimbledon final to a 37yo man 13 years past his prime, and then got ridiculously, humiliatingly CRUSHED by the same man, then 38, in straight sets a few months later? lol, all of u djokotards (im talking bout ciprian ghengea, rodion 8 6, joseph DT, travis bickle) are either furious 5-year-olds, or derelict, homeless drug addicts. there's no point is responding to u guys.
@man bat ... can u read or not? if u can, then read my previous comment
Djokovic will smash all of the weak era bully’s records in two years.
Man, I miss tennis
Hard to believe that this particular Masters 1000 series tournament is one along with the Paris Indoor that Rafa has never won. Wheras, Nole and Andre Agassi are the leaders with 6 Miami Open titles apiece.
Not at all hard to believe
4:16 racket smash.
Amazing
12:16 oh baby!! ON FIREE
2010: year of Rafa (3 major wins) 2011: year of Novak (3 major wins). Greatest era in tennis history
@@Flaeren ok I got it
4.48 one of the best drop shot in tennis history right there😍idemoo😘
The heavy defeat that year took Rafa to the next level.
He has evolved from playing tennis that targets the opponent's backhand to playing more unpredictable tennis, hitting from side to side.
It has also become more aggressive.
G.O.A.T
It’s mentally exhausting just watching their rallies
I feel sad for those who taught nole loose this match While Watching Live after he lose first set fighter for a reason idemoo love u 😍
Partidos de este tipo no volveran...😢
Nole will go down as the best of all time on hard courts. Here is Nadal playing his BEST on hard court, and still loses.
So annoying the woman yelling all the time out, shut up this is tennis not soccer
But their no timeout in futbol/soccer
The advertising on both sides of the net. I see what you did there... 😏
Harvard: Fancy a scholarship, bro?
Everybody says Federer/Nadal have the best forehand. Nole´s forehand is right up there as good.
Is that Marin Cilic in the crowd at 13:08 ?
No, it looks like him but its not, this guy is skinnier
2010 Rafa looked like he would be the Titan of tennis for a decade to come…and the very next year everything changed. Final after final Nadal could do nothing to Novak
That has changed now. Djokovic beat Federer in 4 grand slam finals(all were great matches) and Nadal in 4 grand slam finals(2019 AO was a hammering). And Djokovic stopped Federer in grand slams(11) more than Nadal(7).
@@chamindujanith6337 but now rafa has 22 and nole 21
@@Laland_1196 Yes. But Novak has 5 ATP Finals to Nadal's 0 and 38 Masters 1000 to Nadal's 36.
@@chamindujanith6337 yeah but rafa will soon win masters 1000 not sure about atp finals.. Djokovic also 0 in Olympic
@@Laland_1196 Still big titles
Djokovic-64
Nadal-59
Djokovic has also gone deep in slams more times than Rafa.
Djokovic 2011, 2015 & 2021 prime untouchable
2021 is not prime ..he only dominates in slams that year
@@Laland_1196 the nadal rg semi final was the best he ever played on clay
@@lioneye108 because rafa made him to do better after winning against him in Rome 2021 final .but unfortunately rafa foot troubled him that day made him many unforced errors..
@@Laland_1196lol novax made him run thats why he hurt his foot, but definitely not best nadal
These are some good fucking highlights.
Nole the ironman
Why seems so slow? I mean, it's like they're not hitting the ball strong, just topspin. I dont know why I feel the same in many matches between both players in 2011-2012...
Their game was based on defence and reliability back then, plus the courst were much slower. If you watch tennis matches from 10-15 years ago and compare with last years there was a lot more rallyes than now.
Nadal vs Djokovic Indian Wells 2011 - Canada 2013??? Murray vs Federer Shangai 2008???
Djokovic is better 💪💪
Great by Djokovic...but Nadal played too short
He plays so mostly, and that's a disadvantage.
Nole is 🐐 of tennis.
Back when Novak was applauded for what he really was, not booed for what people made of his success...
I think the big 3 are in the same level but when it’s comes to the important points djokovic flies alone
Very high quality match but the courts are too slow and give Nadal the advantage here.
Nole is better on slow hard court
Djokovic still better
He truly deserved this. He is superior in almost everything and nadal is just too passiv on this surface.
You can See how much pain nadal had in his foot at the end
3:56 looked out to me, anyone else?
Nobody talkin' about Corona being the tournament sponsor
Nadal is second player in the world after me
Eterno padre de Nadal👌👏👏👏
The match that ruined everything..
13:07 cilic?
Nadal got taste of his own medicine. He had done the same to so many players.
And on today’s djoker special menu: deconstructed Nadal with extra salt
It was his first sunshine doubles trophy in 2011 there after 🐐 extended it thrice. Total 4 no one achieved that not even Chokerer whom others consider great....
Prime Djokovic
Rafa bottled this hard
