My mic keeps going out on OBS and it has my voice duplicated so I get an echo? Any idea how to fix that? And what issue do you have with the discord being separate.? Are you trying to mute the other players? Will it just play all the audio?
I use Shadowplay a lot for capture and this is a massive update IMO. But what's even bigger to me is that having a unified app for Nvidia's software and hardware is a MUCH better experience for people new to PC gaming. As much as people complain that GeForce Experience was an awful program (it wasn't), it made life WAY easier for people new to PC gaming. Their game settings optimization tool genuinely works well in most games. And providing an automatic means of updating drivers prevents so many friction points with newer games that require game ready drivers to run well. This is just an absolute win for both noobs and people using Shadowplay as a capture tool.

Okay and? Uploading 120fps footage gives youtube more frames to work with. When you only upload 60fps youtube may cut a few frames here and there and the resulting video can still be a bit choppy.
@@l4rkdono '120fps highlights are glorious', hmm maybe for you because youtube viewers cannot see it and that was my point. When you upload 120fps footage or 240fps because it looks awesome on your monitor, it doesn't matter, youtube will always convert it to 60fps. The choppiness is more likely to occur when the original footage is not optimized for TH-cam’s encoding process, so that's more of an encoding issue than an fps issue.

What about the replay feature recording to disk not ram, will this be fixed? Also i truly believe that I've heard that nvidia has plans for av1 in the future, (maybe on HU but dont quote me on that)
@EposVox I said as an issue due to the amount of people complaining about shadowplay eating through the OS ssd write budget, especially with high bitrate and since obs and amd both record to ram. Shadowplay got a ruge chunk of my ssd life, and since I've removed the shadowplay caching from my os ssd (got an old hdd just for that) my ssd life % has not dropped a single percent, and its like 6 months now, and before that it dropped from 100 to 23% in a year. Although it's a feature, the fact that it eats the ssd life like that, for me(and a lot of people on reddit), makes it an issue. Hope this clarifies my comment :)
@griffin1366 as i said in the answer to my comment i did this after discovering that it was eating my ssd, but i had to get an HDD just for that, yeah i had an backup harddrive but what if a didn't. Also, i had removed every mechanical drive from my pc but had to put them back just for shadowplay... It should go to ram like amd and obs do. And the fact that it defaults to the OS ssd and eats it, we are knowable enough to identify and fix this but the majority of people aren't especially with nvidia that has more of a user friendly drivers and cofig compared to amd.
There have been no technical improvements to the NVENC encoder in Shadowplay. So it's still great for recording replays, but it's not the best option for recording gameplay. Disadvantages of NVENC in Shadowplay: - B-frames are not used - GOP 30 - Adaptive quantization modes are not used - Color space Rec. 601 - There is no possibility to select bitrate control modes.
And yet, if you’re capturing interesting enough clips or making good enough videos with them, none of that matters in the end. Shadowplay is the most convenient and least-performance-impactful solution and thus what many of us use for capturing basic gameplay as we play I’ve personally been pushing to see all of these get fixed, but none of them will stop me from using it

Hoping someone can help me because it was very useful to have the ability to use capture replay which included my webcam and my game sound because no one want to record all the time but just want to use a capture replay feature (better for ressource consumption) and save a clip from previous 30 seconds (for example) the splitting soundtrack feature from input and output is missing by the way from GeForce experience
They're going to migrate features from NVIDIA Control Panel over the coming months (all features & settings they're not deprecating at least) and sunset the original NVIDIA Control Panel at a later date!
I am just so so so so glad they finally updated the overlay. With Shadowplay being my preferred way to capture clips (bc ease of use and native to my GPU), I am so elated that it's now 1. nicer to look at, and 2. not taking up my whole screen. 120fps option is super cool too. It took way too long for an update to come out. I was thinking of jumping ship from Nvidia, but honestly I think this update changed my mind
Dang it! The ONE feature I want is the ability to select the game audio source. Since I use Wavelink I've just been setting my "mic" track to the WaveLink game audio source instead. And OF COURSE Nividia resets that every update plus random intervals in between. 🙄

This update comes at a cost. You can't record your desktop anymore, since it says "a supported game is required" when attempting to record your screen. There's no way to turn on desktop capture after updating. If anyone can help, it would be nice. Otherwise, I'm stuck trying to record a google slides presentation, which I typically would use ShadowPlay for (I use it to record everything on Windows), but I can't record it and need to find another recording software. I like the idea of keeping the desktop private, but I use shadowplay for both gaming and recording videos for my job since it used to be an efficient way to capture the entire screen (just press alt+f9), so this update has really disappointed me.
As a widescreen user I miss the option to crop the aspect ratio or just a conversion option to record/stream in 16/9. This and a audio mixer and it would be perfect for me.

My shadowplay isnt working properly since I updated to the latest drivers and the Nvidia app, the recording looks okay on top but distornionated in the middle and the bottom.
I miss the fact that the rtx HDR works much better then the windows hdr for a price oke, for e sports it is a blast because you can set the mid grey to 100 and boy no more hiding for you re enemies in dark corners you can just see them earlier and beter in all conditions which is a blast and a big relief !. My apex legends experience got so much beter that i m playing it again !!
Ngl I've been enjoying the 120 fps option. It really makes your videos look 2x as smooth. And I thought it wouldn't matter on TH-cam...but it actually does make it look more fluid. Quite interesting.

@@AresSznn maybe you haven't adjust your hz? try to double check : right click on your desktop page > display setting > advanced display > choose a refresh rate (some people don't know their monitor come with default 60hz and need to adjust their hz at their own) so just making sure
Only took them a couple of decades to finally update their software 😅 Understandable tho, they're only a multi-gajillion company, cant expect them to have resources to update their interface every decade or so. Joke's aside, its nice to finally get a new UI to work with, their old was hella clunky.

Sadly I've had terrible shadowplay performance with inconsistent frame rate recordings and awful frame pacing for the frames it actually captures. 120fps is cool but when the captured frame rate is 108fps with awkwardly pauses its not a helpful addition. Same with 60fps, mostly ends up 52-55 and laggy. Fwiw using a 2070 super. Just wish it were more consistent.

Would dynamic vibrace work in windowed games? For ultra wide monitors for example so not the whole monitor is extra vibrant but windowed game only.

If you mean the separate audio tracks for mic and system sound: that has definitely always worked

Most people use it for slow-mo (as demonstrated in the montage)/instant replays on-stream, or frame blending for "smoother" looking video
It definitely still makes the videos look smoother on youtube then base 60 fps I've tested it multiple times.

@@AresSznn maybe you haven't adjust your hz? try to double check : right click on your desktop page > display setting > advanced display > choose a refresh rate (some people don't know their monitor come with default 60hz and need to adjust their hz at their own) so just making sure

It doesnt matter what hz monitor you have,you can record at 240fps on 60hz monitor.try to update manually nvidia app.mine didnt had auto update.its already 3 versions released

You can definitely see half of the clips being at half speed for cool slowmo lol
Sadly I've had terrible shadowplay performance with inconsistent frame rate recordings and awful frame pacing for the frames it actually captures.
120fps is cool but when the captured frame rate is 108fps with awkwardly pauses its not a helpful addition. Same with 60fps, mostly ends up 52-55 and laggy.
Fwiw using a 2070 super.
Just wish it were more consistent.
But you can’t stream games. :(
