This is awe inspiring. I stumbled upon this post on the 10th of March and practiced every midnight (cos that’s when I could do it without my siblings interrupting), I finally got the heck of it on the 12th got really good on the 15th. I’m so happy, now I moonwalk everywhere I go. Took me 5 days of midnight practices, yeeeeyyyyy!!!
Omg I can do it, but I'm inconsistent. I'll try and update as I go along. Edit 1: Did it smoothly for about 5 seconds then it collapsed. Edit 2: Seem to be getting worse and worse at it. I'll try again tomorrow. DAY 2 Edit 3: I feel like I can do it more often for a longer period of time, but it still isn't perfect. I might record myself later on to see if I'm actually doing it right. IDK LIKE 3 WEEKS LATER Edit 4: So someone liked this comment which reminded me to update this and to be honest I didn't really practice in those 3 weeks. But I have got a LOT better. I am able to do it consistently for a longer period of time. There are still occasional slips but I feel way better now than I did 3 weeks ago. Weeks Again (I forgot to practice) Edit 5: I finally mastered it! Feel like I could do it for minutes on end! By the way I am not a dancer at all. I have no experience with dancing. Heck, I could probably slip up with the Macarena. So this will probably take you guys a lot quicker than it took me so don't think that learning the moonwalk takes ages, it's just me and my trash dancing. But I've mastered it now and I'm pretty proud of myself.

Trying this out for the first time and holy crap, I’m actually getting onto it. I am in a rather confined space so I often caught myself trying to avoid ovstacles and over correcting which caused me to switch up my rhythem. I fixed this by doing it with my eyes closed, did it on a whim and wow did it make a difference to how smooth it felt.
My god! This is such a detailed and helpful tutorial and breakdown. I am incredibly uncoordinated and struggle with all dance moves. But you made so clear the exact body movements required for moonwalking. I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video. You have a real gift for teaching!!

I’m 75 and recovering after learning to walk again following a fall and surgery to implant a gamma nail in my femur. Is there an easy way do it on carpet or does apply to all floor material (hard wood, tile, etc.)? I’m just assuming, but you have to wear socks/shoes or can this be done barefooted, yes?
