So glad I found your tutorial. I am getting ready to start on a cross stitch stocking kit and I am having trouble understanding their instructions for sewing it. Your tutorial certainly explained it so much better. I know that I will be able to finish it now. Thanks so much.
Excellent easy to follow video. Thank you Cindy! I'm doing this project for a client, wanting it to come out fabulous for years of use with her family.
Thank you so much for this. I have just finished a cross stitch stocking for my daughter and I look forward to following your instructions here to put it all together for a beautiful Christmas stocking.
This is just what I needed. I have just done one for my grandson. I was going to try to line it but will now use the iron on interface. Thanks so much.
THANK YOU! I did the stitching for a stocking for my husband years ago-- but never put it on a stocking! Now I know how! I want to make one for all the grandkids, too-- your tutorial is a lifesaver!
So glad i found this tutorial! I was thinking about making stockings this year but i was really worried about how complicated finishing them would be. You made it look so simple.
Loved this video...just spent almost 4 years making a cross stitched stocking for my first granddaughter (would put it away alot!) and I did not like the instructions for assembling....your video is so perfect and gave me the motivation to be excited about it again. Thank you!!
Loved the step by step instructions. Very easy to follow. You are a great teacher! Your stocking turned out so beautiful . Are you going to keep it out or put it away? TFS. Judy
I have a bigger stocking, can I do the interfacing or do I need to do a lining? I have no idea how to do a lining. I understand this video you did and know that I can do it
The lining should work it givesit stability. The twisted Stitcher has a video on adding a lining to a stocking on TH-cam. Watch that and do what resonates with you. There is no right or wrong way. 🌻
Oh Cindy, it's just BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I really like the backing..... I'm going to have to go to Jo Ann's to look for it.... I think it would make a cute purse! Thanks for the tut.
Excellent tutorial. Gives me a little more encouragement to finish the three I have almost done. Where did you get the backing material that is already quilted. Awesome job Cindy!
Thank you. Joanns is where i purchased the velveteen. If you click the down arrow by the video, It gives all of the details. Have fun finishing yours.🌻
Hello Cindy. Your stocking and tutorial is amazing. Could you please if possible provide the link for the backing material you used (Velveteen) for the stocking. I have looked on the Joann’s website and am unable to find it. Thank you very much
vipajoclto t - I see Cindy answered but I hope you don't mind hearing my info here. I stitched two in this series, holiday kitchen and holiday workshop. I kept track of hours in those days- each one took me 180 hours. That was 20 years ago, but I think it would still take that long. So worth it... lots of backstitching and detail.
@@EclecticSB you kept track. Good for you. I cant keep track, i work on to many things . I am happy i keep track of the start date and ending date. They are worth stitching.
time_to_stitch_ Thank you so much for the info! I knew that these beautiful stockings take up a long time! I'm a kind of a slow stitcher, so a single stocking will probably take me double than what it took you!😂😂 Maybe this year I'll get brave and start one! Thank you for telling me exactly the time it took you! 🙌
i’ve watched this tutorial like 10 times, i’m almost finished with a stocking i’m making this year and this was so helpful and makes me confident for the sewing portion when it’s that time! thank you !! question for you - if you do want to line the inside (because my stocking will probably have stuff in it) do you just use another piece of fabric? or is the stuff you ironed onto it protection enough?
Beautiful work and great video! I love how you just get to the point without any fluff or loud music to drown out your voice. This was so helpful.
You are a great teacher Cindy. I think I am almost as excited about your finish as you are. Its BEAUTIFUL
Thank you Cindy. I get to look at it everyday now.

Wonderful tutorial Cindy, thank you! I’m wondering what brand iron you have and if you would recommend it? Thanks!
Thank you. I have a shark and I would recommend it
May I ask... what type of fabric did you do the cross stitching on? Is that Aida cloth?
Thank you.
Yes, it is a soft Aida🌻
Love your stocking! How long did it take you to do the stitching? I always wanted to make one but I don't know if it will take too long
I like to know that too...
Thank you. A little over a year but i stitched over a 100 other pieces in between that.

If it will be used and stuffed a lot use a fabric to protect the inside. 🌻
How do you add piping?
I don't like piping. Piping get sewn between the layers
How long did it take you to make this in total?
I do several projects at once so I could not tell you. It was an enjoyable stitch.
Did you "block" the stocking before doing this? I'm getting different answers from everyone I ask.
No, I didn't.
Hi. Where can I find the pattern
Kooler designs online.
I put the link in the description below for you
