Garbage Truck Yard Waste, 2018 Mceilus ZR Hopper

  • April Showers bring May flowers, and those flowers need to be composted! The camera on this truck went out, and I am very surprised to see how much contamination was in this load! Normally when I see plastic in a tote (which isn't common in this subdivision), I mark the address down and the customer is contacted. They must have sensed that the camera was out this time.

    Despite the compaction process you can see there are some items that make it back out completely unscathed - those black sacks don't look crushed at all.

    What happens to trash and other stuff that doesn’t belong in yard waste? Does someone manually remove the stuff before it gets to the composting hoppers, or does it all go to the composting hoppers?
    Btw, is yard waste disposal free and therefore people are dumping stuff that isn’t supposed to be there in order to save money on disposing garbage?

    • @medicalgarbage3575
      @medicalgarbage3575  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is a good question. I know they let it sit and then run it through a trommel screen. I bet people are just not paying attention when they throw contaminants in their yard waste

    HI great yard waste video we noticed a beverage can and later loose papers and more regular Recyclables mixed in with the yard waste does the truck have a camera that Attached to the hopper and take pictures and people are not supposed to use plastic bags where we live and they have to Re bag there yard waste and then it will be picked up .we have been telling are township for a long while now to give us yard waste totes it is easier during the spring and summer in the fall it is heavier with bagged leaves and during mild winter and early spring clean ups it can be heavy . are people allowed to put tree small not long branches and fire wood and small logs in to the totes ?

    Great vid as always, notice you travel s lot to find your containers. must be similar to here not everyone puts them out every collection.
    My green waste route is an ordinary route plus half again,because that gets factored in. trouble is if everyone chooses to put their bin out on the same day. the route can't be finished. another truck has to run the route in reverse to help out .

      I'm from the metropolitan area they operate in, and in a lot of residential neighborhoods, people are allowed to choose their own trash service. It's mainly in the unincorporated suburbs, but some of the smaller cities don't provide trash pickup as a city service.

    • @medicalgarbage3575
      @medicalgarbage3575  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep this is true! Although I bet if everyone put their greens out, we would be able to handle it with one truck. I actually like the way you guys do it, it sounds more efficient, although kind of like toter Russian Roulette ;) great to hear from you Mitch, hope all is well overseas. Stay safe!

      1 highly unlikely
      And usually there is a camera somewhere I believe, kinda like a reverse camera that faces the hopper so they can see, for example to know if I can is still full or not and if they should give it a few more shakes
