    I've of my favorite examples of presuppositions we used with our friends when I was younger was "does your mother know you're gay?" Lol but times have changed

    Thanks for the video! Just wondering how the presuppositions from the questions in the last part would cope with being negated? Surely if you change "Why are you so stupid?" to "Why are you not (so) stupid?" you are no longer presupposing that "you are stupid" (meaning "you are stupid" is not a presupposition?)

    Thanks for your video. i am kind of confused. You mentioned that negation test could distinguish between presupposition and implicature. but I watched another video said negation test can distinguish presupposition and entailment. are both of them correct?

      Yes. It’s just a little different.
      Entailment and presupposition differ because negation will fail with entailment.
      Presupposition and implication will differ since negation will deny the implication but not deny the presupposition.
