This is the only "produced" video I know of from Chris. And the only pre-recorded version of anything I recommend over his live performances. There's an interview on TH-cam with the director, actors and him about the video that's interesting. It is definitely meant to bring awareness to mental health issues. I would guess this particular situation represented by the video would be bipolar or maybe manic depressive. I don't know enough to tell, but that's a strong message and the love in the message of the song ... I'll take everything you can throw at me and still be here for you... it just hits on so many levels. Thanks for reacting to this one, great reaction! (Listen to the audio without the video so you can get the impact of the raw vocals, as well. His vocals take a back seat to the message of the video, but if you hear them alone, they pack a different punch.)

This was made to bring awareness to mental health. She appeared to struggle with bi-polar disorder... I cry every time I watch this...

Unconditional love and depression.. what a meaningful song! As much as he try to deal with her pain he still couldn't save her.. he was trying to take her pain away and the meaning is take your best shot Im not leaving! Fire away I'm still coming back for more.. but still couldnt help her from her mental depression

I cry everytime I hear this song. Dealing with anxiety and depression and those bad thoughts. Being hopeless and thinking the end is best.

GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS! CHRIS WANTS EVERYONE TO ENJOY HIS SONGS BECAUSE OF THE SONG NOT THE VIDEO. HOWEVER, WHEN HE WAS APPROACHED TO PLAY THIS WONDERFUL HEARTBREAKING VIDEO AS "THE VIDEO" TO "FIRE AWAY" HE IMMEDIATELY SAID YES. I CAN'T THINK OF A SINGLE SONG THAT WOULD WORK ANY BETTER. PERIOD!!!!!!!! THANKS CHRIS. THIS PROVES THAT YOU ARE NOT ONLY A GREAT MUSICIAN, SINGER & SONGWRITER BUT A SUPER HUMANITARIAN AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Thank you! 🙏🏻
From everything I have seen so far Chris appears to be a very humble guy who has his feet planted firmly on the ground!
It’s great to see someone use there talent to promote causes such as mental health in such a powerful way as Chris did in this video!

@@taylorfamilyreactions: Several country artists do that. Dolly has spoken about gay rights---and Reba not only has spoken about it, but has a song. Also Reba and Martina McBride, have songs about domestic abuse.

It makes me glad to see people with influence call attention to mental illness. My young cousin fell in love with and married a man that suffered from a bi-polar disorder, after their son was born, Mike stopped taking his meds, flushed the pills and no one knew what he was doing. He had a wild swing 1 day and beat her almost to death, she died of the injuries, the whole thing was so tragic. He went to prison, they got his meds leveled out, but now he has to live with that and their son is in foster care, people just don't take mental illness serious enough and the stigma around needing help is still bad enough to make people, like Mike, stop taking their meds. It is devastating.

in the early 80's we had a singer, Bob Seger, who sang almost EXACTLY like Chris. He didn't have the song repertoire but the voice's are identical!!!

This song hits so hard due to facing depression for the last 11 years. Worst of all is so called friends don’t care and just use you instead of caring. Hence why I have maybe a couple friends and try to lean on my family who care but you don’t always want to share those feelings with family as you don’t want them to worry about you.

Great video with an even better message about mental health. Fun fact about the video, Chris had a cameo as the bartender in the bar the police officer/main character has his shots in. Great reaction.

listen to Chris' cover of "its a man's world' (james brown cover ) live and his own songs 'either way' - 'barely alive ' - 'i was wrong' - 'higher' - 'north dakota ' - 'death row' - 'sometimes I cry ' ( but there are so many many more (past and present).. he is a true artist! And he always has a story to tell .. the best storyteller ever!! your reaction is great!

I really didn’t want to watch this video, the song hits home. My daughter is bipolar, and every three months she has an episode and I just let her “Fire away “ at me. This song is still hard to always listen to, but I wanted to see your reaction because I love how You interpret music. Thank you very much, you are very appreciated.

Relatable. I have bipolar 1. Many suicide attempts. It is never anyones “fault”, once I have the plan in my head, reaching out won’t work. I have the best support system that have been there through it all, diagnosed at 17, I’m 55 now! The suicide ideation never goes away for me! The attempts are not attention seeking or a cry for help! Mine were definitely wanting to die. To anyone taking care of someone like me, or are dealing with losing their loved one to suicide! Please know that you did everything right, but our brains are exhausted from fighting and there is NOTHING you could’ve done to stop it. We are very good at hiding & saying what you want to hear. This may not be the case for others who suffer with bipolar, but when I’m off my meds that is my story. Xx

It used to be called manic depression. Now it’s called bipolar. It’s super difficult to find the right chemical balance.

Don’t suffer from depression myself, however I have become an unwilling viewer on this from a few directions, and it is a bitch. Lost a good friend to a similar incident, great guy, successful, beautiful wife, baby on the way, had dinner with his wife, brother and sister-in-law, went upstairs at brother’s house and did himself in. Some family, also, very smart person, felt worthless, almost succeeded a few times. Be grateful you don’t have it, cause it’s a monster. Both were in their 20’s. Song brings red, wet eyes always.

If you listen to it without watching the video, there is definitely a different feel to the song, it is more a sad love song of someone saying 'I know your angry, unload on me I gonna still be there for you.'
As far as the video the woman seemed to be bipolar. Uncontrollable extreme highs and then extreme lows.

Not many reactors pick up on the fact that he was there to "save" her every time... until he wasn't. There is guilt in his voice, when he tells the doctors, "I didn't find her". You can't love someone out of mental illness.
