This was one of the better videos on ways to deal with a bowed board. Really appreciated your diagrams, very helpful. Thanks for this video, it really helped!👍👍👍
Duh !!!!!!!!! I have been using a jointer ( incorrectly) for more years than you have been alive! Thanks for teaching this old dog how to correctly push the curved board and not push the board down on the jointer.
After fighting severe cupping in some of my boards, I finally found this video and just by simply rotating the boards and just using extremely light pressure, the cupping is gone
Great video, really enjoyed watching. Learned a lot. How do you like the hammer jointer/planer A3-31 or a3-41? I don’t mind using the European guard looks like you are not a big fan… ?. Stay safe.
A3-41....I really like it. Been going strong for 7 years+, no issues so far. I use the guard some times. I just never got used to it. Functionality wise....its amazing.
This explanation is fantastic! I kept screwing up trying to flatten my bowed boards and now I know why!

This was a very thorough presentation of the concepts. Thank you.
Thank you for watching
Thanks for this, this is exactly the video I needed. I had the exact same problem with bowing after I resawed some maple.
This was a great tutorial. Well explained. Thanks.
I Appreciate that very much

Glad I could help - thanks for watching!!
Thank you for the nice demo. How do you proceed if you dont have a jointer but a planer instead. ??? Thank you
You have to build a sled and attach the wood to it
I really enjoyed that - I know someone who would benefit from the guidance regarding just pushing down as hard as you can!
