    Corundum is Ruby and Sapphire
    This is a video clip sideshow of extractions of corundum ruby and sapphire from the World Famous Propsts Farm. I apologize about the music ahead but if you are a Creator please contact me for some exposure for your music. These crystals were extracted from 12 inches to 6 ft below the surface being located in a alluvial deposit in Maiden North Carolina. They don't come this size often it is a pay to dig spot with filling in your hole after each dig. I would calculate there are 20 digs between some of these monsters extracted. Corundum has a very high specific gravity which is very obvious when you have them in your hand by their weight. I keep most of my big ones as specimens in my HighCountryRocks collection the smaller ones are excellent lapidary grade ruby sapphire or a specimens. With many years of digging I have accumulated quite a collection of corundum. Please reach out if you are interested in purchasing some for yourself.
    There will be lots of informative videos to come.
    Most specimens showing are part of the High Country Rock Collection

      @HighCountryRocks do you know anything about finding gold in dry land mountainous areas like old dried up creek beds were there is no water?

    • @HighCountryRocks
      @HighCountryRocks  ปีที่แล้ว

      The old drainage areas are prime stops to check. Just take samples from different areas and see if you have color.

      They don't get much better from that locality. They dug really hard in the 90s and found some that size. ( Now they are one in a 1000) When digging there we are just cleaning up all the ground they missed. Treasure hunting.

    • @HighCountryRocks

      It is reservation only. More of a spring and fall place to dig. That clay will cook you in the summer.

  • @JennCoxOwens

    So how do you decide where to start digging? I have 44 acres and keep studying on what to look for.

    • @HighCountryRocks
      @HighCountryRocks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes it is helpful to have someone who knows what to look for. Have you found any quartz on your property? Or do you have small creeks or drainage areas? To better your chances for success the surface can reveal tons of clues. If you have any questions feel free to comment back. I would love to put you in the glory.

    How did Ronald known he had corundum all on his land??

    • @HighCountryRocks
      @HighCountryRocks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They found it working around the farm. What set it apart was it being such a heavy dense mineral and that hexagonal formation it brought it to their attention.

    Man please do watch your 6 cause Brian is definitely on the trail between Ashville and Damascus Virginia. More then likely he is near the hot springs area now and looks a lot different to so be careful, I don't think he would try to kill you if you found out who he was and he knew it but he would run fast and put a great distance between you and him quick.

    • @HighCountryRocks
      @HighCountryRocks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree it just stinks because I normally like to keep my head to the ground looking at rocks or for artifacts and now I got to watch my 6 like you say.

    Are all these your finding gem quality

    • @HighCountryRocks
      @HighCountryRocks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the stone. Gem quality is rare for this location. It is lapidary grade for sure though.

    ? Whats the market $

    • @HighCountryRocks
      @HighCountryRocks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what the digger wants to charge you to letting it go. There is so many discrepancies in the quality of the corundum it's really specimen based pricing.

      I am working down there today. I will mention that you are trying to get up with him. I don't know how the conditions would be to be digging right now though with all the rain we've had. I tried the other day and everything just filled up with mud water. Previous post on Facebook should provide you all the information you need.
