    Its feels like an entirely different game with these spells. It is like Dark Fantasy Mmorpg

      Dar souls IS dark fantasy, I sometimes describe it as a punishing horror, action, open-linear world game depending on who I’m talking to. Obviously to us it’s not scary, but I have friends who find dying light extremely scary and couldn’t play black ops zombies solo until they were like 15 so yeah, to them dark souls would be horror. To me it’s not but I won’t deny that hiding enemies might have jumpscared me a few times. The atmosphere is very creepy at times too

    I'm surprised that there's a mod out there that makes more thoughtful and interesting choices for magic rather than just making them god mode where you cast meteors with farron dart animation

      My expectations to recieve necromancy as a thing in Elden ring is high.
      Thats the one thing I always thought was missing in Dark souls/Bloodborne. But I bet it's a pain in the ass to create something like that and make it useful.

      Well, Miasma and summoning are kinda broken. Plus, the FP regen makes mana potions pretty useless. It's all but a balanced mod.

      @@jsbfkdls well we don’t know for sure yet but it doesn’t seem to be a thing. Necromancy is really hard to balance in games, usually being either op or useless

    I recently discovered The Convergence and this is the 1st channel that I came across to look at everything, if I could recommend anything I would add time stamps for each spell. I'm watching the video none the less but it''s still nice to have them around, nice videos.

      @@theowl5126 If it's not from steam, then I cannot say this mod will work for it. Pretty much all mods are just for the steam version, and may work for GoG, but if you're getting it from any other source, it's not likely to work.

    Oh my goodness, when are we going to get a Dark Souls based mmo. This necromancer stuff would fit into a necromancer class perfectly

      One day, FromSoft will go the way of blizzard... it's treacherous path, it will bring us a whole world of adventure, but in the end all shall go hollow.
      But in all honesty, I'd love a good Souls MMO; Closest thing was GW2 with its dodging system, but it's hard to capture the aspects of a "souls-like" in an MMO.

    This mod looks up to par with the cinders mod as far as spell addition, though I'm not sure how they handled all the rest of the neat quality of life features cinders introduced. It looks worth a try, for sure.

    I've been watching a few different TH-camrs play this mod, and absolutely none of them have really messed around with this, which is a shame because necromancy is absolutely amazing looking.

      They are rather neat, and have even more neat stuff since I made this. A couple new spells I believe, and the covenant equipment are now available.

      It is really cool. The only issue is how often the summons get stuck or just randomly despawn In crucial moments. You also have to remember to release and resummon before, during and after boss battles because they get stuck where the fog walls would be.

    This is very cool however I find a Necromancer with just one summon at a time lacking. I think there should be something like a high requirement spell that summons like 3 skeletons at once for example so you could at least with one spell have a form of the classic undead army at your command.

      It definitely would be nice, but there are limitations due to how it had to be put together to make summons work. But if you're looking to have an army, you can use Turn Undead on the entire Catacombs. Sorta makes a setting like the rat covenant from DS2, but we're lacking the online part for forced invasions... Maybe one day we'll have a DS3 private server to work with mods.

    this only recommendation but a book weapon which memorized spell and when used change your spell arrangement mid battle , so you didn't have to scroll through buff/summon spells while using multiple combat spell,

    Of all my years of playing Dark Souls.. i never got to try mods that would make the gameplay be totally different.. i love necromancy in some games so i might make this my first when i get the chance.

      Definitely give it a chance; It's really interesting, and more spells and weapons have been added since this showcase. Plenty of replayability and fun things to try to combo out.

      @@VorrtaX You can get them through a normal playthrough by exploring and discovering things. A couple changes have been made to make things accessible earlier (some early teleports in firelink, for example). Not sure if there's been extensive guides yet (as the mod is in flux), but here's one I know from someone else who's helped out with the mod:

    Seriously, why did DS2 and DS3 never capitalize on Nito’s sorceries and miracles is a thing I’ll never understand.
    What I find most bizarre is that spells that should’ve been associated with Nito, like lure undead or poison mist or acid surge, we’re made into pyromancies.
    Like... Seriously ? You’re telling you make a *poison* spell into a *pyro*mancy and not a miracle from the lord of death and *diseases* ? The heck ?!

      @LeadFaun His miasma or death is still a miasma, and disease would still be in his sphere much more than it would belong in pyromancy who, if you remember, was developed by the daughter of the lord of life.
      Speaking of, isn’t it weird how all the healing miracles are completely unrelated to the lord of life, who instead is exclusively associated with demons (Okay, I guess that’d count) and fire ? ^^

      Well no, pyromancy was developed by the witch’s daughter, or at least not by the witch itself since pyromancy was born after the witch became bed of chaos.
      And Gwynevere isn’t a lord of life, the witch was, she was the one that had the lord soul of life.
      As for Nito being the god of disease or not : again, he is the lord of death, his weapons do poison damage, diseases are one of the prime representations of death, his power is literally called « miasma » of death, which refers to the contagious odors emitted by sick people.
      But okay, let’s say he isn’t the god of diseases : his weapons and miracles still inflict poison and toxic, whereas the witch’s whole thing is fire, and *pyro*mancy is literally the control of *fire* not to mention that there is no chaos weapon that deals poison damage. Therefore, it makes much more sense to have poison and toxic spells be associated to Nito.
      At best I could see anti-poison and anti-toxic spells emanating from pyromancy, but poison seems a much more obvious fit with Nito than with pyromancy.
      As for life being the source of disease... where is that said ? DS2’s crestfallen Warrior says that life is the true curse, but that has nothing to do with diseases.

      Let’s see : life, death, light and dark. She didn’t get light, that’s Gwyn, death, that’s Nito, or dark, that’s the pygmy.
      Geez, I wonder what lord soul she got !
      Not to mention her lord soul is the one that created a « bed of life » as per the lord soul’s description.
      Edit 2 : granted, maybe for some reason Miyazaki decided that the lord souls wouldn’t be dichotomous so it’d be light, dark, death and then heat for some reason, and sure it’d make much more sense given all the fire magic even if it makes little sense thematically apart from a protracted « fire is the symbol/source of life » or something, but even if we suppose she didn’t get the soul of life but of heat or something, it still doesn’t make any sense with poison and it still makes far less sense than having the god of death who uses miasmas be the one that has poison spells.

      I know you’ve said that, which is why I said *for argument’s sake let’s pretend it’s not obvious that Nito is associated with disease more than the witch, the fact remains that his weapons and attacks are all associated with poison and toxic, whereas pyromancy is the control of fire, not poison, there it’d make more sense for the poison spells to be part of the guy who uses poison swords and poison miracles, than it does for the poison spell to be part of the art of manipulating fire*

      Oh shoot, I missed this gem on first reading : no, *poison* ie : a substance that *kills* people, that leads to their *deaths* doesn’t fit life nearly as well as it fits death, which kinda explains why Nito has poison spells and gives off poison swords.
      The same for say acid surge, a substance that both kills (in realty) and deteriorate, destroys, is much more thematically link to death and its theme of decay than it is link to life.
      You could make a case that « diseases » fit life as well as death, because after all diseases are caused by living creatures, but even then that’s be a really tough case to make considering the wealth of mythologies that link diseases to death (for quite obvious reasons), and the bear or even total absence of the reciprocary.

Could it fit pyromancies ? As a Nito miracle, why not. Does it fit pyromancy ? By definition : no, since it’s not fire.
      Same goes for acid surge, iron flesh, and power within. I can accept sweat, even if the rational is a bit silly, because it’s supposed to be literally that : sweat, and I can accept dark pyromancy since it’s just humans mixing their dark soul with the pyromancy. But those spells ? Iron flesh would make far more sense as a cleric spell, since they are all about close combat and being resistant, same for power within, but poison, toxic, and acid surge would obviously fit much better the one lord that doesn’t have much to his name in terms of spells and whose domain is death, and visibly (from what he gives and does) poison.
      Edit : sorry for the « Patrick seastar » remark, I was just thinking of this meme where he is explained something and agree with both the premises and the conclusion but when asked point blank again for confirmation he says no, I didn’t mean to say you were dumb, unlike the character. If you understood it like that then my bad, I shoudn’t have lost my cool >

    Necro is the last class from the mod to try for me but wanted to be more melee focused and cant really find an armor that fits the build as well as fits the theme. And the lifeblood set in the wiki has no information on its location.
    Edit: nvm I found that set and it doesn't even work for a hybrid necromancer. Rip.

      there is 2 tomes, one in the profaned capital in the right side of the room before Yorn, and the other are in the Smoudering Lake in the open area (and yes, the first location is diferent to the wiki)

      If you mean the Gravelord's talisman, then the weapon art will cause foes nearby to have less resistances.

    Do you know if the miasma spell hurts everything, or just enemies? Just want to make sure so I don't use it and hit some npc's by accident and ruin a questline or something.

      I’ll never understand why the developers didn’t capitalize on Nito more (in all DS), especially when the first game features necromancers. With that, you’d think it would’ve been obvious to put the ability to raise at least one or two enemies.

      You can; You'll get soft-banned, and then you'll only be able to PvP with others who have been soft-banned.

    i just tried to play as a necromancer, but somehow when i try to summon a skeleton minion it just wont appear what am i doing wrong? do i need an items or an ingrident or is it limited to 1 summon per spell per REST per bonfire?

      If a summon dies, you'll need to rest at a bonfire to resurrect it. Otherwise, it should summon as normal. Sometimes you need to reload the area because they can get stuck in odd places, because of how they get summoned in.

      Yes, you can have one minion out at a time. I've tried getting around that, but didn't find any glitches related to it. However, I was able to summon then swap out the spell for something else and keep the minion.

    Only thing I ever care about Necromancers is raising an army of Skeletons. As long as I can get them Carthus boys and a couple other different ones (like the Dark Wraith or the Pus of Man), then that's all I want from this! ^_^
    Can you summon more then one familiar? Like, if you summon a Warden of Carthus, can you also summon another one to a certain limit? Or even just summon a Dark Wraith separately?

      Unfortunately, no; Summons are limited based on how they had to be implemented. Given that FS games are rather limited in their modding scope, summons are already a fairly hacky thing already. It may be something in the future, but it's difficult to say if it'll even be possible

      The biggest fun of playing Necromancers is the ability to raise your own little army.

      You can get summons like other spells; You find the necromancer vendor in Firelink (I believe its to the left of Andre, on the lowest level), and you can buy some. To unlock them all you find necromancer tomes throughout the world.

      Because that's the niche Blood magic occupies, and the goal is to have each spell archetype (sorceries, miracles, and pyromancies where necro is a miracle), to have it's own element. It's also not very far fetched for it to do magic damage, as opposed to say lightning damage, which would be very odd. Could it have been dark damage? Sure. Does it really matter? No.
      Plus dark damage in DS is more a manifestation of humanity. Seath did necromancy with his sorceries that dealt with magic back in the day. (also Nito did magic damage, but dark didn't exist back then technically).

      @@DistractionCrab yea, my point was that if it was DS1 - dark didn't exist, so magic it is, but in DS3 there is dark which would make more sense imho.
      Also, since necro is a miracle, dark would again make more sense, since there are already dark miracles in the game, but only one magic miracle(DMB, which barely counts).
      All that being said however, if you wanted the Blood magic to occupy the niche of dark damage spells - then i have the answer to my initial question. Thank you, and keep doing what you're doing, the mod looks amazing.

      @@EliasKaydanius Oh yeah definitely I understand where you're coming from. Just wanted to let you know where the devs were coming from. That way there's not two Dark Miracles. And yeah DMB is barely one, haha. It was nice in DS1, but in DS3 "shrug" They'ved buffed it, so it at least is nice to have now.

      ... No ? Death and Dark are separate things, with separate lord souls attached to them.
      Whereas magic is using the power of a soul and intelligence, so in theory you could make magic out of any soul (dark magic, light magic, « normal » magic, fire magic, etc), it doesn’t make sense for a miracle or spell derived from Death to deal dark damage.
      It’d make sense to either do poison damage, bleed damage, curse damage, or its own category, like in DS1 with obscure, which wasn’t dark.
      What’s weird is that necromancy does magic damage despite the developers making the same mistake as you and DS2 and confusing dark with death when they are two different things, by having you invoke so many dark and abyssal creatures.

    Personally I think fromsoftwar shouldn’t put convergence players into a banned server but put them in there own server for jolly co op with other convergence players

      That would be nice; I'd rather like private server capabilities like OG Demon's Souls Archstones private servers, but from what I've attempted with the networking code, it's not so easy with steam obfuscating a lot of the stuff.

    Can anyone confirm that the class can summon multiple different minions if attuned to different slots (I.e skeleton/wraith combo, etc) or does the game force you to only have one minion at a time?

      The installation should just be a drag and drop; What issues are you running into? Just it not doing anything, crashes, or otherwise?
      Does the splash screen show up when you start the game (showing convergence)?

      It works similarly to how the base game does: It depends on the catalyst. It's primarily magic damage, but scales off faith. However, catalysts have affinities for damage now (shown in their item description), so it comes down to finding one with a magic affinity and working with its scaling.

      Currently no; Summons are quite difficult to implement with FS's "system," so the modders have not been able to do that. It may be a future thing, considering they have plans up until 2.0, their main release.

    Skull Throw is ripped off of Bloodborne which was my favorite spell. Thanks for this! Hope FromSoftware takes inspirations from both Cinders and Convergence mods and actually varies the current spells and actually adds necromancy now! I love the projectile type spells on dark sorcery(necromancy but I suppose deals dark damage, doesn't matter what it deals as far as it's being black ☻) that it lacks.

      It is possible to play online, but you'll get soft-banned and put with only other mod users (not necessarily CV). So up to you, if that's what you'd like.

      There isn't any friendly fire, but your AoE support spells do. There are some specific to minions, but other general support AoE should also work.

      You shouldn't, as long as you use different save files. They flag you for soft-bans based on invalid data in your save file. So as long as you manage your saves correctly, you should be fine (that's what I do, I have an online-save, and modded saves.) But if you want to do online stuff for this, you'll need to make sure you keep it separate between both accounts.

      You cannot. Only one minion available at a time currently, given how the game had to be muddled to make summoning work. This could be a feature suggestion to bring up in their discord, if you think it's important enough.

      Necromancies are magic damage, so will be boosted mostly by the Magic damage rings (B. Dragoncreat, Magic clutch, and the new ones added). This also means you'll have to use a magic-affinity catalyst (chime, since they're miracles) to have better damage overall. Minions are also a large source of damage, and you can use some of the druid spells to buff your summons, as well as heal them as needed.

    Can some one please make a class ranking video I don't want to have to look up like 31 classes to see what ends up as what I started like 6 already to see how they are I'm normally a strength or dex player but the mod seems like a magic kinda mod thanks for doing this class tho

      They're all balanced about the same; So if you want to play strength, then start as the Dreadnought, if you want something dex like you can pick one of the classes with high dex or starts with dex weapon, and so on with w/e magic you feel like starting with.

      @@dennisgentzyel189 Yeah, it can seem like that since magic is a major emphasis on this mod, but melee works out very well. My recent 100% run started as druid, but I focused on melee and it was very strong.
      It's usually best just to pick the class you think looks like will have the weapons you want, and you can transition as needed (there's unlimited respeccing, and it's easy to farm tongues).
