    Coach, what are you telling your QB about throwing the screens/gift outside? Just if he likes it?

    • @joesalas5
      @joesalas5 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the walk players pre-snap and only throw if you love a 2 on 1. Throw it only if you "love it".

      We use a count system for our QB, it we have 2 WR's our QB pre-snap it asked where is the #2 below the hard deck. If he is attached to the box, throw the pre-snap screen. If 3 receivers, where is the #3 below the hard deck.

    What do you do vs 3-3 stack when 4 and LB gap exchange forcing QB to pull when 4 slants inside? Who blocks scraping LB?

      Joel Faulkenberry 33 is a tough front. OT goes to Mike is only real change. Not sure what you mean by 4. If it’s the Walk player they can’t bring him & stop backside QK Screen. If it’s the DE it doesn’t bother us because C picks him up.

    Hey Coach, great video. I'm trying to convince my HC to switch to Air Raid this upcoming year. I'm only planning on running about 3 runs, 3 screens, 3 quick games (if that), and 4-5 dropbacks. Do you think its realistic to make all these plays one word calls, or would that be too much for my players? Obviously, we would be using the three day install and so the kids would get used to everything, I'm just wondering if my expectations are realistic? Thanks Coach. Stay safe during this uncertain time.

      I think it would be a great idea. Kids pick up on the one words calls really fast.

    My concern is not having athletic tackles. I can find 2 decent pullers but 4 is a little challenging. It seems like there are fewer and fewer athletes around the 200-225 range, they are either huge or small.

      I feel your pain! Take what you have and coach em up.

    What did you use for the width of your WR? They seemed very close to the play. We try to get our WR wider to clean up the read for the QB, and to entice him to throw screens more often.

      I have never seen the done with 2x2 counter before, love the idea, I am stealing it. We have gotten alot of miles out of doing something similar out of g-wrap or one back power (iso). I like it better using Counter, counter allows you to handle different fronts better.

    • @joesalas5
      @joesalas5 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The base rule is on the numbers. We will make a tight call sometimes but I think what you are seeing is backups in there because of injury. They eventually got lined up on numbers just took awhile.

      Alonzo Coley sorry I missed you, I always like to bring my wife to that one. Longo had an amazing session there. That guy is so good I always feel dumb after hearing him.

    Coach do you think this would be great for fast Qb's. What day would you install the counter? Day 1?

    • @CoachJoeSalas

      Bey11ktb Yes & yes. Great for athletic QB. This our day 1 install.

    Coach do you always run this play away from the back?

    • @CoachJoeSalas

      Cody can run same side counter but we don’t do it very often.

    Beautiful! Lifelong Husker fan so even if Air Raid isn't intrinsically in my blood, counter trey is!
    I could watch this all day and I am just a fan, not a coach.
