I just finished a class for Access. It was terrible. All I got out of it was terminology and anxiety about having to use Access in the future. That cost me roughly $1,500. Thank you for the free, better-than-college education!
@@endermanslayer24rulz Not all of it was bad. Just the mandatory class on using Microsoft products for business purposes. I did learn a few things I didn’t know, and I still have a handy textbook for reference, so it wasn’t a complete wash. I learned Excel and Access (at least, doing simple queries) from generous TH-cam creators...both have come in quite handy.
This is a very good start to provide a basic understanding of databases and the difference between Excel and Access. However, I think it is also worth mentioning that Access (and other database programs) are designed to allow sharing in a much more reliable way that Excel allows. If you've ever shared an Excel workbook, you can appreciate the pain involved. Sharing a data table with Access is much simpler, more transparent, and more reliable.
I want to thank your staff for not being selfish, and showing how to use programs, that benefit us in school, work, and personal life, these are things I never learned in High School, and when you are in college, you are expected to know, and thanks to your staff, I have been successful in my school work. Thank you for being who you are, and self-less, and giving us every detail so we can be successful as you all are. I am deeply grateful.
Very beautiful and wonderfully easy explanation of how data bases work and of how Access and Excel are different. Great job. Keep up the excellent work!
My lecturer just made me watch this video twice. Thanks very much. Also, a girl in my class asked me to point out that it's spelled "Dwayne"! Thanks Obama!
Microsoft #Access can be difficult to understand. Hopefully this introductory video on the popular 2010 version will help clear up any confusion you may have about using databases.
I have to watch the entire tutorial for my Theories & Apps/Digital Tech class. I'm glad the videos aren't brutally boring like some similar tutorials are.

I just came across this while searching Microsoft Access 2010 introductory videos for my Intro to Software Applications. I like the approach taken to explain Access. I plan on including the link for my students to watch. Great job, I've been teaching Microsoft Office 2010 for several years, too bad I just found it now. Do you also have a series for Microsot Office 2013?
We just released new tutorials on them. I can't send you the link via TH-cam, but just go to our website and click on All Topics, and you will find a series of Word 2013 tutorials. Videos are coming soon :)
The information at the end gives more information on our program, which offers free tutorials and videos to help learners in all corners of the globe. We are a nonprofit, so it is not a promo. We hope this clears things up for you!
Thanks for the compliments! If you subscribe to our TH-cam Channel you'll see the 900+ videos we have available, all broken down into topic-specific playlists. You can also visit our website, which offers text-based instruction in these areas: www.gcflearnfree.org/topics. While there's no PDF version available, you can click the printer icon toward the top-right of any page on our site to access a printer-friendly version of that lesson. We hope this helps!

How is more painful to share data in database
The language used is really easy to understand and avoid big words. It's awesome.
