    I've already run 90 miles in this shoes and it's a perfect speed day shoe for me. I want my speed day shoe to be hard enough to let my legs work fully but also it needs to be soft enough to not need too much recovery after my speed workout. This shoe is definitely what I was looking for, its soft/hard balance is perfect. Huge thanks for recommendation, Kofuzi, I wouldn't consider to buy it before your first review about it and now I really enjoy it every time I need to run fast!

    Seeing all the comments on how much people love this shoe, made me get a pair myself a few months back. I’ve put around 60 miles on my pair and they are definitely comfortable, but fuel cell seems like it’s not optimal for me. I’m heavier set (around 100 kg or 225 lbs) at 6’1”, and any more then 4-5 miles would hurt my calves for a day or 2. I didn’t feel much energy return, but a lot of plushness/softness.

    I got the Rebel v3 thinking that it'd be a "specialty" shoe for the occasional speed workouts and as a gym workout shoe (including playing racquetball, which it's really good for), but it has indeed turned out to be a lot more than that. For such a low-stack and simple shoe with no plate of any sort, it really does handle everything pretty well, including long runs at easy/slow pace. I took it out on a 13-mile run recently although my intention was to run just 10 miles. I still felt really good after 10 miles so kept on going for 3 more. I also have the all-white colorway and it's great for casual wear as well. One of the few "pleasant surprise" shoes of the past year for me in that it could do a lot more than I expected for a very reasonable price.

    I just picked up this shoe when the v4 came out. I really wish I had picked this up sooner! Easy and comfortable step in feel and super comfortable while running. I found that it was easy to spot when my stride was getting a bit sloppy towards the end of my run and could easily correct

  • @parrotbrand2782

    I really enjoy these for slower runs. I feel a bit unstable if i ran faster bcos these are among the squishest shoes that I have. I have 2 complains.
    1. The outsole grip is lacking on wet roads, esp inclined wet roads
    2. The midsole foam is so soft, little stones get wedged between the soft foam and the hard rubber outsole patches.

Never really by the same shoe twice because running shoes are expensive but this shoe was to good not to buy another pair so I did now I have 150 miles on them. Great review! I love this shoe...light, cushioned, responsive, versatile, very fun shoe at a highly competitive price. This replaced the Novablast 3 (retired due to mileage) in my rotation. My only nitpick is that I do wish for more cushion on runs over ~10 miles (which I usually run with the Saucony Triumphs).

    • @lhprx4
      @lhprx4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      which one you liked more? novablast3 or rebelv3?

    • @atalk143
      @atalk143 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lhprx4 That's a tough call - The key differences (IMO) is the cushion vs agility factor. The Novablast has more cushion but at a cost of some slight clunkiness. You feel the chunk of midsole underfoot. On the hand, the Rebel's cushion is not at the level of the Novablast. The ground feel is more noticeable but the ride is more lively...it feels like a more natural extension of your foot. Both are great shoes but I do lean towards the Rebel in my situation.

    • @michaeltanel3815
      @michaeltanel3815 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a very different stack in the Rebel vs the Triumph or NB3!

    • @atalk143
      @atalk143 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@michaeltanel3815 Most definitely! IMO, the Novablast 3 is more versatile in that you can go longer distances because of the better cushioning but the trade-off is lesser agility and response. In my current rotation, my longer runs (longer than 10 miles) are done in either the Triumph 20, the Asics Superblast, or the Puma Deviate Nitro 2. The Rebel V3 is such a great shoe as long as you avoid those longer distances (at least in my experience). The NB3 gets squeezed out because I prefer other shoes depending on the distance. I completely acknowledge that I am blessed to have/afford all these options but if I could only get one "affordable" shoe to do it all, it would be the NB3 (or the Deviate Nitro 2) 😅

    After your original review of the v3 I ended up picking it up. I really love this shoe and find myself reaching for it more often than my 1080v12s. It just feels so lively and fun. Love my 1080v12... how good is the cushion on rebel v3?

    • @CannabisTechLife
      @CannabisTechLife ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danieltay1052 IMO it's more responsive, but less cushiony feel. The FuelCell foam seems to compress more on each step vs FreshFoam which I feel holds it's form more but still compresses. My v12s are good, but they feel a bit more sluggish if I want to pick up the pace or do some sprints.

I have never put super high mileage on these though. I tend to stick to my RC Elite v.2, which I have holding on to very tenaciously, with fall back of using the SC Elite v.3. Really appreciate you mentioning the ASICS sky because I love the rebel v 3 but I can’t stand something like the ASICS gel nimbus 25 and I’m scared the sc trainer is that mushy as well! I can’t have mushiness or my feet go numb like 5 miles in.

    woo hoo I was on that NYC run as well - after meeting up with you in the park for the 5Ks haha - question for you that I will try to hit up the live stream later though - with the new SC Trainer out now I feel like it is a much closer match to the SC Elite v3 in terms of geometry and the way it feels running. I like it and its probably a better overall shoe but it appears to have lost a bit of the fun of the v1. Very curious to see the Rebel v4 actually the pictures look like its a super departure from the previous models

    I had the v2, great shoe. By 500 km the upper was showing exhaustion, by 550 the outsole was gone so the shoes had to be replaced. I did not get the v3 as I was not convinced they were different enough. Great shoes, but do not last.

    You left out the Velocity Nitro 2, which I think is very similar in a lot of ways. Definitely not as squishy but less prone to bottoming out on heavier runnners. I would say the Puma beats it in the durability and grip department which makes it even more versatile on a variety of substrates.

    How's the stability on somewhat uneven packed dirt? Does the forefoot have enough cushion for long runs?

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will assume that these are two, unrelated questions
      A1. It’s a very neutral shoe that feels low to the ground. The predominant instability you may feel will be from the unevenness of packed dirt.
      A2. Yes. I’ve taken it as far as 20 miles in blacktop/concrete
