    This is such a wonderful tutorial. I also have a forward shoulder on my right side and am now eager to try this method in my pattern drafting to attain a better fitting sleeve and bodice. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

    This answers a question I have struggled with for a few years! Thank you so much! I know I need that forward shoulder adj.(mine is closer to 2 cm) and my garments look better for it, but I have never had a clear understanding about how to handle the sleeve and have tried a few methods that just didn't seem quite right. Adding to the back armhole and taking away from the front armhole is EXACTLY the adjustment I have been looking for. Thank you for being so generous to share on TH-cam

    I had to move my shoulder line 1.5cm forward as well! I guess mine is extreme too😨 Thanks so much for this tip!

    Love this! Question- do you need to adjust the underarm length between side seam and sleeve notches to match the respective lengths on the front and back bodice? After I make this forward shoulder adjustment in the sleeve the lengths no longer match, thanks!

    This was great information, Elsabe. I’ve always felt that I needed to widen the back of my armscye and narrow the front of my armscye to go with the forward shoulder alteration. I’ve never heard anyone else say it before. It isn’t much, but if I don’t it feels as if the back of the sleeve is always tight and I have a wad of fabric in the front armscye area.

    Hi - I have used this technique but just want to make sure I understand - the new centre point for my shoulder (and my sleeve) is now the new grainline? Sorry if this is a stupid question

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Marlene De-Abel - yes, that is correct. However, keep in mind, that the grainline is primarily a line that needs to be parallel to the selvage and is the guideline to help you keep the pattern on grain with the vertical grain of the fabric.

  • @marlenede-abel1336
    @marlenede-abel1336 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well done - would you do this after the high round back adjustment

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Marlene De-Abel - yes do it after the back adjustment.
