    The differential Pinion Flange is part of the universal joint that connects the drive shaft to the rear differential. Years of water and salt could rust or seize the flange, or cause other problems. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ differential pinion flange on your 1994-2004 Chevy S-10.

    At point 7:14 if this kind of play was happening before any repairs would it likely indicate a worn outer bearing possibly including the race? I am trying to diagnose the backlash play in my 2002 trailblazer that does this and before removing the nut and yoke. Thank you in advance.

    Nice video, informative. My only disappointment was no grease added to the brake hardware before re-installation of the pads. They came off without grease and went back on without grease. Gotta grease them thangs!

    The red threadlocker/permanent is not necessary, kinda overboard. Especially on calipers, blue would do just fine although you could do without any really. That's what the torque is for.

    My preload was only 5in lbs. No play in yoke. Isn't that a little low? Differential made no noise or vibration. Just need to change the leaky seal

    Brother I have a question I've gone into forums but have not found a satisfactory answer I have a 99 s10 the yoke has a damper 2 of the bolts broke I'm trying to find another yoke with damper but itd impossible I looked online nothing I notice that most s10s rear diff dont have the yoke damper. My question is this can I use a regular yoke instead of a yoke with damper for vibration why and why not I'm confused???

    Well that's new to me, using a click-style torque wrench to check pinion bearing preload

    Just wondering why are the brakes removed?

    • @DGZMusic
      @DGZMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      So they can charge more for labor

    • @Bentlyband22
      @Bentlyband22 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      so they don't affect the bearing preload measurement

    Why the new yoke? I was looking for video of rebuilding the yoke itself. It has a race and seal inside it too.

    That is a locking nut it would take more than 20 inch pounds to turn it in the first place

  • @robertpaul3675
    @robertpaul3675 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Why do you have to take off calipers?

    • @ravstafarian5186
      @ravstafarian5186 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      In order to remove the rotors, otherwise the drag in the brake system will make it impossible to accurately measure the preload torque since it’s very small.

  • @ChickenJoe24
    @ChickenJoe24 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm curious as well what's the size of the nut that hold the yoke on

    • @aflaks
      @aflaks ปีที่แล้ว

      when is the humming noise happening? acceleration, or when you let off gas, only after a certain speed? many times it's bad u joints there.

    The pinion nut did not locked to the pinion shaft ... it might loose and destroy the gears ...

    What size is the bolt on the yoke

    • @TRQ
      @TRQ  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      +Tommy Stokes We do not have this measurement available. It will be the same size as the original equipment bolt. You may contact your local dealership with the VIN To determine the exact size.

    The ugly design of that crashing plate, make people hard to control the tightness of the connection.
