2004 daily driver 290+ miles on her as im writing this now. 😎 My wife's is a travelling nurse so we been thru the mountains of colorado, Ozarks mountains. All through Dallas Forth Worth metro plex for the past 10 years Made it back home here in Chicago July 9 2019...just passed emissions Nov 2019. Greatest truck on earth. The favorite part of my avalanche is that it’s on the Chevy suburban chassis so therefore it drives like a big car or a really nice driving truck all at the same time. Love love love love my avalanche. I think it’s going to be my forever truck. I had Silverado pick ups for 20 years but I love my avalanche more than any of the trucks!
2003 Z71 1500, 193K miles. Bought in 2015 with 114K miles. Had some teething problems, mechanic I hired to look at it missed the leaking water pump and blown intake manifold as well the tie rods. Had a carfax but didn't tell much. Truck came with new 20" wheels and tires. Had the pump and intake done, new plugs, wires and belts, tie rods and pitman arm. Had complete drivetrain gone thru. For some reason, this truck for the first year of ownership ate calipers and rotors. Changed to a different brand of brake gear and since then just normal wear. New beefier struts improved the ride tremendously. Being a Michigan truck began to show surface rust on front quarters, rockers are rusted. Just replaced the radiator a week ago. Overall, it has been a great ruck. Rides great, fun to drive, holds anything i need. Have a had full yard of topsoil in bed with no issues. Get up to 90mph on the highway and don't even notice the ride is so smooth. When this one's days are over I will get anotherr one.
oh man, that's awesome, glad they fixed everything for you... I'm glad your gonna get another one when this one goes... what kind of suspension do you have?
@@Kingcustomz the suspension is stock. Took the struts up a couple notches from the stock OEM'S that were on there. Not knowing what the previous five or six owners did or did not do to the truck, I just went ahead had all the recommended maintenance done to it.
1- They discontinued it because Of sales. They sold a lot of the last ones because they announced that it was going to be the last year. Problem is people were either wanting a tahoe or a Silverado they were not wanting to pay the money for the avalanche. Sadly a group of us was told by the designers of the avalanche that they will not be making another avalanche again. 2- It is the only truck of its kind no other vehicle has a mid gate that folds down. 3- Chrysler started putting saddlebags on the newer ram trucks. GMC was supposed to Hamon insert option for their pickups that had the saddlebags I don't know if they ever followed through with it or not. Anybody who I have ever seen to have on one love them
I agree with you. I've got one with 280k on it. Best vehicle I've ever had. I work in construction, and my kids aren't exactly small anymore. It's spacious, comfortable, versatile, and powerful. My next vehicle will be an another Avalanche.
@@Kingcustomz haven't decided. I have a 2006 rn, and I love the cladding, but 2007, 2008 are pretty nice too. I'd be all over a 2012, but that's outa my price range. I've gotta have the leather, Bose speakers, and the sunroof.
Oh man I feel yah. I love the cladding too.. it so armor like lol. Man get what you heart desires, you want a 2012 look around and I'm sure you will find a good deal
The Avalanche is the best versatile truck on the road. My 02 Avalanche 5.3L has 385,600 + miles on the original engine still runs but knocks now from the lifters. I will be getting motor rebuilt soon, due mileage and I want the numbers to stay the same as it was from the factory. I had transmission rebuilt back in 2016 at about 320K miles, it's great for hauling ATV, and any type of work material. I really like it for fishing, side storage pockets great as a cooler; can be easily be rinse out at end of day fishing trip. If you have the hard top cover over bed it can hold at least 250 lbs with no problems.
Wow man that's some mileage... you should check out my rebuild series on the motor if you havent already . AVALANCHE ENGINE REBUILD SERIES: th-cam.com/play/PLlHVUMZIDW-WWTwyrqpGi90-qzW1EC53F.html
I have a 2013, best truck ever. Luxurious reliable, stylish and functional. Best vehicle I own. Will keep it for a long time. Best part is is that the 2013 holds its value.
Awesome video! I agree with you about Chevrolet trucks. I started out years ago with an S10, followed by Siverado, 2 Colorados (LT and ZR2). Picked up a 2011 Avalanche LTZ in 2019 for $14000 with 98000 miles. This is the best out of the bunch. Like you said, there's no other like it. Been taking my dogs to the mountain on some hiking trips. Wife and kids are super comfortable inside. Hauling gardening stuff is a breeze, with the cavernous bed and midgate removal when needed. Just a minute ago, as I was watching your video via Aux, with the engine off, the dash reminded me to turn on the truck due to low battery. That's pretty cool. This is just an excellent family and utility vehicle.
Best camping truck ever! Kept a warranty on my 2008 Avalanche which changed out the lifters and associated parts around110K. Now at 195K+ miles she runs just as smooth as when I bought her and the non-leather seats show very little wear. I simply upgraded the radio head to a touch screen, got her repainted, and changed the grill out. Loved my choice to keep her as there are no other such versatile truck out there unless you want to spend thousands on the Chevy Lightning EV all electric.
I have a 2004 4X4 Avalanche . Purchased it new. 219,000 miles. I love this Black on Black truck. I actually had it lifted in 2018. 6 inches. It looks like a TANK. Still rides as good as it always did. It has it issues every now and then but has never left me dead on the highway. And yes . If I could complain about anything it would be the graying of that plastic panel. Love your Videos!
thank you so much for that, i really appreciate it. id definitely want to lift up my truck as well, i need to do a video on that! yes the plastic is annoying, ill probably do a restoration video on this plastic.
Had a 2002 Chevy Avalanche. I had it for 17 years, the last 7 years in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with long cold brutal winters. The auto 4x4 setting worked flawless. I sold the truck with 230,000 miles on it. Only issues were some minor electrical issues and the tailgate latch broke in -20 degree temps. Best truck or car I ever owned.
If you don’t mind me asking how much you sold your truck for? I’m looking to sell my 2004 model with 115,000 miles on it and I’m not sure how much i can get for it.
@@Lxrd_Rome : Sold it to a guy from Fargo for $$2800. The engine was strong, tranny good, cracked front bumper/plastic cover. Tailgate latch broken when I tried to open it in -30 temps. Window motors were starting to slow down. With all those things fixed, probably worth $6000. Yours having 115,000 and todays market for used trucks, yours is worth a lot more.
I also love my Avalanche. I have the 2013 diamond edition. 99900 km's on it so far and it hasn't needed anything done, other than tires, the regular maintenance, and fixing the tailgate lock. Every time I take it in for the oil change, the dealership asks me if I'm ready to sell it yet. No thanks, it's paid off, low mileage and is solid. I love that I can camp in it, and fit lots of grandchildren in, lol.
I'm dropping a like just for this comment just bought a 2002 avalanche only thing I don't like about it the engine is small i had a 2 door Tahoe with a 5.7l
I've owned a 82 89 99 chevy truck. They all had several 100 thousand miles. They were all good trucks. I now own a 2005 avalanche Z71. I love it. Drives smoothe and has plenty of pulling power when needed. Oh yes I've loaded it down with 8ft lumber with the mid gate down .
Mine is a 2008 Avalanche and I have loved it from the first day I bought it! Only regret I have is not buying the 2011 that was for sale at the same time! Love it!
2009 77k ... best truck ..yes TRUCK I have ever owned. I have towed cars, lumber for a 12 x 12 deck ....many items in the bed. You can't beat the versatility.
I had a 2008 Chevy Avalanche LT and I loved it... I got rid of it because of the huge payment but I have regretted it ever since. I am currently looking for another one because I enjoyed it so much. I also had a Ford F 150 and it did not compare to the Avalanche. I have been researching for engines swaps that will work in it like the Cadillac Escalade engine because I heard it was stronger so that I can be prepared. However after hearing you about your engine rebuild I may take that route. I will definitely look at your engine rebuild video. Thanks for the information.
Hey how are you? I'm glad your getting back into the avalanche... yes I loved rebuilding my engine. It was an amazing experience and I learned so much from my motor...
Man, I JUST bought my very first 2013 black diamond edition, 75k miles on her, I haven't even broke her in yet. I can't wait to park my rig and go have fun with her, glad I stumbled across your channel!
Hang on let me go look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok they are at the bottom of the fender well, I have two molded drains their. Also the drain deflectors IE the ribbed things up behind the sails, They also have drain into the fender well. All of these including the one which you can only see when you lift out the long plastic grill on the floor directly behind the midgate should be kept clear of leaf litter, dirt, rocks and such. I do this whenever I have time or think about it. Heaven for bid they get clogged and the bed fills allowing the water to come in under the midgate. Although this is rare it can happen if one does not perform his or her due diligence. @@Kingcustomz
I agree as I bought the first year they were made and now own a 2010, I have also owned 2 Silverado Pickups as well. Every one was a perfect vehicle and no other trucks on the road are like a Chevy! I agree that discontinuing the Avalanche was a mistake! It wasn't because of poor sales, but GM felt they were splitting sales with 4 door pickups. I have put over 200,000 trouble free miles on every Chevy Truck I have ever owned.
I had the best looking 1 of 1 Custom 2007 Regency Edition Two Tone ( Sunburst Orange, Diamond Pearl White & Silver Painted Pinstripe ) Chevy Avalanche bought brand new out of Oklahoma ( Bob Howard Chevrolet ). Sitting on 22's & fully loaded, custom dash odometer lit up red, simply the best looking & I've seen many but none like it.
GREAT VIDIEO. I HAVE A 2008 AVALANCHE........5.3. HAS A A COLD AIR FILTER, HEADERS, INTERCOOLED EDELBROCK SUPERCHARGER, SCT TUNE (COMPUTER DONT SHUT IT DOWN). BUCKSTOP FRONT BUMPER WITH GRILL GUARD AND WINCH. 80K MILES. I LIVE MY TRUCK!
Speaking of American built car engines, I had a 1991 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 5.0L. It was alway reliable and ut had 256,500 miles on it before I sold it. And it was still running fine when I sold it. When it comes to naturally aspirated engines, GM knows what they're doing. The only time they honestly messed up was when they tried to use a spring for shutting down 4 cylinders for fuel economy purposes in their modern day fuel management systems. It seemed like a good idea to save gas, but they failed at that idea and alot of the springs would fail and cause damage in the motor. But a strait up V8 running 8 cylinders full time, GM has always been reliable with that in my experience.
Thank you so much for this review. I test drove the Chevy Avalanche when it first came out. Fell in love with the security of this truck. For us females out there it's like a purse you can drive 😁👍. My next Trans Former!!!
Towing is the reason why the transmissions go out on this truck. A lot of people forget to put the vehicle in "tow mode" and they overworked the transmission.
Just bought this truck yet again, my first one was a 2005. Only had it for 2 weeks before an oak tree fell on it at a Lowe’s improvement. 3 years later I decided to get another one. I a few questions to ask you bro… let me know if you could help me out on My journey, for a second time… I absolutely love this truck… I just bought a 2012 lt with 230k miles. But of course a lot of codes popped up, if I could get your expertise… I would greatly appreciate papa
I have a 2008 Avalanche LTZ 4x4 with 61000 miles on it and now it has 161000 miles everything is original I tow a 21 ft camper and I love it, I bought it in Aug. 2015 I will never sell it
I absolutely loved my 2008 Chevy Avalanche....had to get rid of it because I'm a Navy Veteran on disability and couldn't work nor was I receiving disability pay in 2016...but now that I'm doing somewhat better than that horrible year I'd love to get me another one ASAP...praying that I can one of these days... 😍🤩💯😎💯🤩😍
first off thank you for your service, very much appreciated. second im am so glad to hear you are doing somewhat better. third you will be able to get one soon, some how some way a good deal will pop up for you, anything is possible!
I have a 2002 Avalanche. 70k miles. I need air conditioner. Passenger front side panel. A leak in the top window shield. Im thinking i should fix it do to the low mileage.
Yep! Got the 07 bought it with 29000 miles, now is 158000 . Had dashboards cracked twice but GM replaced it with a mush better kind .apart from that the truck was ahead of its time. LTZ! Not giving it unless it’s for the Tesla Cyber truck!!!
damn good stuff man. honestly dude i don't know if you repair your own vehicles. but telsa will not sell you any parts for your vehicle. because you won't be certified to fix them
My Chevy dealer broke my dash installing a passenger side airbag repair and put a blue shop towel under it to hide it. When I got home it had fallen and they said they don’t feel like they are responsible for it! Then why try to hide it ! So now I have a broken dash to add to my list of repairs!
Just snagged an 08 from a buddy of mine. Honestly, I never really liked the avalanche line-up... But...BUT..I also admit when I was/am/are/will be,etc, wrong. I absolutely love it.
I have been eyeing Toyota Tundra until I stumbled on Chevy Avalenche being quite reliable and certainly cheaper. The question is which one is more of a comfortable ride?
My pops bought a blue z66 off the lot in 02 passed her down to me getting ready to swap the 300k+ mile engine still works great she never asked for a thing everything is 100% bone stock
Have a 2002, motor trend truck of the year!! I will buy another one when this one rusts out. My work truck, have plowed with this for 6 years, freaking excellent, tows my lawn business the rest of the year. Sun roof, roof racks, heated leather seats, what more could a working man want.
2200 bucks not a bad deal... how excessive of oil are we talking.. honestly even if you have to do an engine rebuild.. you would have a really good truck
Love my 2010 Avalanche LTZ and yes Chevy is better than Ford or dodge. I also own a 2003 Z06 Corvette , I think u should get one . It may change your mind about American cars not being great like our trucks. Haha. Good video and some great Avalanche info. Well done.
Well I'm totally biased when it comes to the Avi! My 03 was my Christmas presents from my Ex back in 2012 & I just bought my 2nd in June which is an 04 Z71. I LOVE my first one Soooooo much that I couldn't imagine life without an Avi! Unfortunately I live in the North east and rust has really done a number on the frame of my 03. I'm also throwing about a half dozen codes. Misfire cyl.3 , o2 sensors, air bag sensor & the typical evap issues. But most of those issues just started in the last year or two & it was totally my fault because I do most of the work myself (I hate paying someone else to do something I already know how to & after working on my own vehicles since I was in my teens I don't trust anyone else.) But I was having some health issues & didn't have the money for someone else to do the work. So all these little issues snowballed. 😔 It had 137k when I got it & now it's at 243k. So I definitely got many great years & miles out of my baby. But because of the issues with the frame I figured it made more sense to get another one instead of putting the money into the 03. And because it belonged to a family friend that I adored & it was the best gift I've ever received I just can't bring myself to let it go! (Trust me I've driven people crazy telling them about just how much I Love that truck! Lol) So now I'm going through it & using what I can on the 04. The 04 has 142k a solid frame & minimal rust so I hope to have as many if not more great years with this Avi! I'm still torn about what I'm going to do with my first one. I'm Really attached to that truck & there's a great deal of sentimental value in my heart when it comes to the 03. It's been really good to me over the years & I just have such a connection with it! I literally cried my eyes out when I bought the 04 because I felt like I was cheating on the original! Lol The Avalanche is an incredible truck! There is no other full sized pickup that can match the versatility of the Avi! And once you own one you become part of the whole Avi family, we're like a mini cult! Lol Everyone I know that has owned one just Loves these trucks! Definitely an awesome way to get around! And it certainly lives up to the name! Because when it comes to snow these babies can get through Anything! Personally I Hate snow but having the Avi actually makes it fun! So I have to completely agree with you the Avalanche is the best used truck out there!
First off thank you for writing in and sharing your love about the truck. It's amazing to see people share the same passion. What I would do is replace the frame if you really love the truck so much.... replace the frame and build it back. Keep it as a little project and take your time with the build. For the second avi. Clean the frame and buy something called por 15. Use that to provide a rust protection on the frame. Cylinder three miss, replace plugs and wires. Give it a little tune up. To see if the coil is bad. Swap the coil with number three and five, see if the misfire jumps.
I bought my 04 4 years ago for $5000 with 160000 miles on it it now has 320000 miles. The engine is missing now so I started looking for a replacement truck. The same truck is going for 7-10 k now. I just put it in the shop to replace the engine. Hope to get another 300k out of it. Driving a 2011 Nissan while it is being done, and can't wait to get mine back. The dealer only offered $500 for a trade. I said no way. It's worth more than when I originally bought it.
Dude I've owned a 2008 and currently own a 2011 avalanche. I gave the 08 to my dad as a daily driver to keep his diesel off the road as much. I absolutely love the avalanches for more reasons than you listed. If I may add a few more things in my personal experience and opinions. My 11 avalanche has a 6spd tranny instead of the 4 and has a higher ratio rear end so it cruises at higher speeds and lower rpms than the 08 while also getting substantially better mpg. These rigs ride on a suburban frame and suspension so the ride quality is superb for a truck even compared to current new trucks. Also, these avalanches come with an optional 6.0 vortec max engine even tho it isn't labeled a max Truck. My 11 has a 5.3 and I have put a cold air intake, throttle body spacer, full exhaust system including shorty headers and a tuner. It's insane how responsive and quick to reach 80 mph in this heavy vehicle with only a few low budget external mods and not to mention it got me around an 8mpg gain depending on situations..so ultimately cruising at 70 or 75 at 1600 rpm with cruise control on it gets roughly an average of 23 to 24 mpg! These trucks have the fuel cell capacity of the suburbs as well!
@@Kingcustomz Diablo sport intune i3 tuner. I had also put 30lb injectors and msd coils, wires, and plugs before the tuner was installed. It was amazing what kind of difference installing the exhaust, cold air intake and tbi spacer made especially mid range and that was before headers, tuner, plugs, wires and coils.
@@Kingcustomz spectre intake and tb spacer, ac Delco injectors, flowtech shorty headers, deleted cats and single in duel out Flowmaster 50 series all stainless Except for the muffler. The truck has a perfect mellow tune with 0 crackle and pop and not to abnoxious when opened up. Drone is great also. The only issues I've had with this avalanche in 6 years is the one I'm dealing with today and that's finding a water leak into my driver side floor board from rain. Any help would be appreciated!
💯 first time and now new subscriber greatest video I've seen on Avalanche pickup trucks you're my new hero and heroes don't always wear capes Albuquerque New Mexico in the house.👊🏼👍🏼❤ plus we don't want to be making more I become more valuable the rare they get
I agree, looked for used truck, found southern well maintained 2013 LTZ Black Diamond to drive until my new Chevy Silverado EV on reserve comes! Who knows, maybe I don’t need it, but like the value of electric. We have two electric now…
Yeah I just picked up a 2005 chevy avalanche. Rusty but trusty lol. Frame was welded with thicker steel then frame came with from factory lol. Yeah was cracked but not anymore. Had NY states best welder with 40 years experience weld that frame back and its strong 💪 has the 5.3 with 166k miles. Gonna need brake lines NY salt I imagine but paid 1500.00. I know this video is 4 years old but I just watched another video where they advised to NOT buy the Avalanche. Do you still recommend buying a used Avalanche?? I'm looking at a 2007 with 59k miles. What price range would it fall into??? Its a LTZ with the 5.3 engine I believe. Its not in perfect condition but good for its age. Any info would help!!!!!!
So I have a 2004. And I love it. They only issue is the midgate seals which they have discontinued and aftermarket has no support on them. The 07 has that afm thing where four cylinders would drop dead. Which I don’t like
I 100% agree with you, the Chevy Avalanche it’s extremely reliable. While I was living in Japan, the Japanese pickup trucks really sucked. My cousin’s F-150 easily breaks down( maybe because he can’t keep it well maintained).
@@Kingcustomz new truck lol love my truck been nearly 20 years... lighter tailgate for starters but things are finally breaking down and wondering should I upgrade or replace? Like your pet you love old and disrespectful now is it time to take it to the forest kind of love
2007, bought it new and at 15,000 miles I switched to Mobil One and now it has 427,000 miles on the original engine. I recommend synthetic oil and using OEM parts such as Delco Iridium plugs. A good all around vehicle. GM dropped the Avalanche because they were considered a SUV and the Obama administration raised the CAFE standard to 35 mpg and to meet that goal GM decided to drop the Avalanche and sell Silverados to the customers who would have bought the Avalanche.
YES A MAN WITH COMMON SENSE! So manny people hate on the Avalanche and say its Unreliable. Alright. If thats true why do I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche Z71 with 236000 miles on it and have not had in in a shop to do any repairs other than cosmetic??

No new mods yet and the truck is running just as strong. I do have a huge project coming up with that truck towards the end of the year into next year so stay tuned
I am going to do a custom full rebuild from start to finish. A full restoration of the avalanche from ground up. Complete frame removal and clean and remove any rust found all the way to the body. With a full paint job and all new bushings and new rear diff rebuild
4x4 has a little lower towing capability because of the extra weight. however a 4x4 gives more traction for incline and stuff like that. they both have their place
Sadly I had to sell mine back in November. Despite all i learned to fix on it from your videos nothing could prepare me for the frame splitting along the entire drivers side of the vehicle.
@@Kingcustomz wasnt an option for me, I still owed about 8k on the truck. wish I could find me a second gen with the 6.0 they are rare
But it's worth every penny! 😉
TJ333 yes they are the hard part is finding them with low miles
Yes it is
I agree with you. I've got one with 280k on it. Best vehicle I've ever had. I work in construction, and my kids aren't exactly small anymore. It's spacious, comfortable, versatile, and powerful. My next vehicle will be an another Avalanche.
Oh yeah brother, what year you thinking?
@@Kingcustomz haven't decided. I have a 2006 rn, and I love the cladding, but 2007, 2008 are pretty nice too. I'd be all over a 2012, but that's outa my price range. I've gotta have the leather, Bose speakers, and the sunroof.
Oh man I feel yah. I love the cladding too.. it so armor like lol. Man get what you heart desires, you want a 2012 look around and I'm sure you will find a good deal
I do construction, I have an 07. Took out my back seats and have massive tool storage. Take out the the window and haul lumber. Best truck I ever had.
Yes I agree because I have owned my Avalanche for more than twelve years and I love my Avalanche
best trucks known to man
The Avalanche is the best versatile truck on the road.

I have an 02 avalanche. Amazing truck. Had it painted metallic blue with led lights and blue lights in the interior. So nice and easy to customize.
Woah metallic blue. I love that color
Im a ford man but recently bought a chevy avalanche and im in love
fords are good too but this truck is something else
I have a 2013, best truck ever. Luxurious reliable, stylish and functional. Best vehicle I own. Will keep it for a long time. Best part is is that the 2013 holds its value.
Oh yeah it definitely does
Awesome video! This is just an excellent family and utility vehicle.
hahahah thanks for watching man, this truck is super amazing! it is always amazing with all its functions and the saddle bags are amazing too!!
Loved my choice to keep her as there are no other such versatile truck out there unless you want to spend thousands on the Chevy Lightning EV all electric.
ew on the lightning lol, yes these trucks are awesome
Spray it down with truck liner. Problem solved.
Did you delete the air suspension?
Mine never came with air suspension
Had a 2002 Chevy Avalanche. I had it for 17 years, the last 7 years in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with long cold brutal winters. The auto 4x4 setting worked flawless. I sold the truck with 230,000 miles on it. Only issues were some minor electrical issues and the tailgate latch broke in -20 degree temps. Best truck or car I ever owned.
tail gate latch is expected to break in minus 20 degrees lol. but that is the best truck
If you don’t mind me asking how much you sold your truck for? I’m looking to sell my 2004 model with 115,000 miles on it and I’m not sure how much i can get for it.
@@Lxrd_Rome :
Sold it to a guy from Fargo for
These trucks are high in price at the moment. Current market lol
Dang that was cheap
I also love my Avalanche. I have the 2013 diamond edition. 99900 km's on it so far and it hasn't needed anything done, other than tires, the regular maintenance, and fixing the tailgate lock. Every time I take it in for the oil change, the dealership asks me if I'm ready to sell it yet. No thanks, it's paid off, low mileage and is solid. I love that I can camp in it, and fit lots of grandchildren in, lol.
Oh sweet, you know you have a keep when the dealer is asking you for it. Black diamond are nice
how much did you pay for it if i may ask?
@@mabufinneser7208 We paid 80 thousand Canadian dollars total, paid off over 7 years.
Dang that ain’t bad
That’s not bad at all
Yes I have a 2011 avalanche for 6 months now. Side pockets are nice and a lot of room. I love it. Had 69,500 now I have 7300 or close to it now. 😊😊
damn, you basically have a baby version for this avalanche
I love my Avalanche. Mine is 2008 but, was not first sold until 2011! I got it with 5k miles on it, and now have 156K on it! I love it!

I'm dropping a like just for this comment just bought a 2002 avalanche only thing I don't like about it the engine is small i had a 2 door Tahoe with a 5.7l
I'm a ford lover and I like the avalanche
Love my Avalanche..have had it since 2009 and it runs great. No plans to get rid of it
Dont ever man, it's such a great truck. I want to own a fleet of them.... lol
2002 Avalanche, leveled on 35’s with 376k+ miles and climbing.
Damn get it
How good is the truck for a daily
If you dont mind spending some gas money, then it's great lol
I've owned a 82 89 99 chevy truck. They all had several 100 thousand miles. They were all good trucks.
I now own a 2005 avalanche Z71. I love it. Drives smoothe and has plenty of pulling power when needed. Oh yes I've loaded it down with 8ft lumber with the mid gate down .
thats the way to do it
Mine is a 2008 Avalanche and I have loved it from the first day I bought it! Only regret I have is not buying the 2011 that was for sale at the same time! Love it!
im glad you love It. this really is a one of a kind vehicle
Is it easy to disable the vvt on the later models?
Have an 03 Avalanche 2500 and it’s a beast. Love it and can tow great. Get between 10 to 16 MPG combined on how I drive it.
i want one !!!!!
I have an 07 avalanche ls......I absolutely love it. All the use of a silverado.......rides like a suburban.....and handles curves like a sports car
Yes it does. It’s one of a kind
Just purchased a 2013 Z71 Black Diamond with 76K. I absolutely love this truck!!!
these trucks are awesome
I’ve got a 2005 5.3 Avalanche with the Silverado front end instead of all the plastics. Looks great, sounds great, and She rips
Glad to hear that man, these are great vehicles
Same here man. :)
Heck yeah
I also have a 2021 cfmoto 500 side by side but it won't fit in the bed. The Wheeler is 50 inches, but the truck is awesome yes.
it is an awesome truck, very very awesome
I just got a 2007 LT with 229,000.

Oh yeah 😁😁😁 keep that puppy running
2002 Avalanche, 290,000 miles and STILL gets to 100 MPH without a hitch...
Damn keep going strong my brother 🤓
same I got it a while back bought used and have fixed only problems caused by the previous owner love it
These trucks are amazing and can withstand so much
2009 77k ... best truck ..yes TRUCK I have ever owned. I have towed cars, lumber for a 12 x 12 deck ....many items in the bed. You can't beat the versatility.
It is an truck and a damn good one, you are so right about the versatility aspect of it! Ride strong brother 😁
I definitely wouldn't go with any Cadillac engine or anything Cadillac performance wise, Cadillac has a nice body, but poor underneath 🤣
You think so?
Man, I JUST bought my very first 2013 black diamond edition, 75k miles on her, I haven't even broke her in yet. I can't wait to park my rig and go have fun with her, glad I stumbled across your channel!

Love my Avalanche. Nice vision board in the background.
I love mine too 🙂 and thank you so much. I have a goals to meet lol..😁
Something many don't know about the Avalanche side storage is that they have drains and so you can put in ice and drinks for a camping trip.
really where are the drains
As an '02 Z66 owner with 418k miles running great accept for the trans gave out "again" so it's due for a 4L80 trans swap now.
It's a great truck. : )
That's sucks but get that trans and it will last forever
Best upgrade. Not much more money than your regular transmission swap. Driveshaft, 4 wire's on transmission connector and programming
Sweet, we can only hope that they will decide to bring this back.
Sitting on 22's & fully loaded, custom dash odometer lit up red, simply the best looking & I've seen many but none like it.
dang what happened to it

I want to get a winch for mine, which brand do you have?
I just bought a 2005 z71 124K miles im excited
its a great truck, im excited for you
Speaking of American built car engines, I had a 1991 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 5.0L.
But a strait up V8 running 8 cylinders full time, GM has always been reliable with that in my experience.
yes of course, I love a good old #v8 and heck yeah they messed up with their dod🥺
Thank you so much for this review. I test drove the Chevy Avalanche when it first came out. Fell in love with the security of this truck. For us females out there it's like a purse you can drive 😁👍. My next Trans Former!!!
oh of course, not a problem. I cant wait to see what you get.. when you get one send me a picture at sookwahryan@gmail
Towing is the reason why the transmissions go out on this truck. A lot of people forget to put the vehicle in "tow mode" and they overworked the transmission.
very true, the tow mode helps adjust the revs and eases up on the transmission
Mine is upgraded to the 4L80 much stronger transmission
Just bought this truck yet again, my first one was a 2005. Only had it for 2 weeks before an oak tree fell on it at a Lowe’s improvement.
3 years later I decided to get another one. I a few questions to ask you bro… let me know if you could help me out on
My journey, for a second time… I absolutely love this truck… I just bought a 2012 lt with 230k miles. But of course a lot of codes popped up, if I could get your expertise… I would greatly appreciate papa
heck yeah you can ask me all you want at sookwahryan@gmail.com or just ask it here
I have a 07 ltz avalanche love it never let me down it has 207k miles and still look brand new from the showroom floor I'm the 2nd owner

I have a 2008 Avalanche LTZ 4x4 with 61000 miles on it and now it has 161000 miles everything is original I tow a 21 ft camper and I love it, I bought it in Aug. 2015 I will never sell it

yeah you should, have the vehicle running right
Is it common to hear the airpump for the rear air shocks. Mine seems to be getting louder...2007
Are you on air ride suspension?
Yes..The factory shocks are air and the pump for them seems to be progressively louder over the last year.plus I have 100,000 miles
Are there rubber grommets holding this in place, maybe they are dry rotted
So now I have a broken dash to add to my list of repairs!
oh hell no, you better fight them.for that. ask to speak to the manager and if not call up consumer affairs at chevy
they will not want it to escalate. fight for it!

07 at 200,000 miles and just recently had to replace the fuel pump so no complaints here.
wow that pump lasted real long! good stuff buddy keep going!
It had 137k when I got it & now it's at 243k.
Lol
The Avalanche is an incredible truck! There is no other full sized pickup that can match the versatility of the Avi! And once you own one you become part of the whole Avi family, we're like a mini cult! Lol
Everyone I know that has owned one just Loves these trucks!
Heck no the dealer will try and rob yah. Keep the truck man
Which is best for the truck a 5.3L or 6.2L?
I like my 5.3. But the 6.2 is nice. I’m not really sure
2003 and i like it original owner .just started getting rust in 2019 I'm gonna fix.
oh yeah take care of that before she gets worse
Have a 00 blazer grabbed a 02 Avy z71 with 184!!! I’ve been in love ever since
you and me both brother
These trucks have the fuel cell capacity of the suburbs as well!
damn dude, what kind of tune are you running?
@@Kingcustomz Diablo sport intune i3 tuner. I had also put 30lb injectors and msd coils, wires, and plugs before the tuner was installed. It was amazing what kind of difference installing the exhaust, cold air intake and tbi spacer made especially mid range and that was before headers, tuner, plugs, wires and coils.
what brand intake and exhaust. 30lb injectors 😳😳
Any help would be appreciated!
do you have a sun roof, check and see if the drain is clogged... or remove the carpet and see if there Is a hole in the floor

Which I don’t like
5.3 is a good motor.
Yes I own one and it's very good truck everything what you says
Yes it is, there is no other like them
I 100% agree with you, the Chevy Avalanche it’s extremely reliable. While I was living in Japan, the Japanese pickup trucks really sucked. My cousin’s F-150 easily breaks down( maybe because he can’t keep it well maintained).
First off wow you lived in japan. It's my dream to visit japan one day! Second heck yeah man the avalanche is an amazing work horse of a truck
The bed for the avalanche seem kinda small. You think it can fit something for example like 48x40 size pallet
I’d have to measure that for you. But I’ve never had problems fitting anything into the avh
@@Kingcustomz even without having to let the bed down?
Not 100 percent sure, but I’ll look intoit
I got a 2002 bare bones that cost me a lot 20 years ago but nearly nothing ever since love my av but considering a upgrade
what are you thinking about
@@Kingcustomz new truck lol love my truck been nearly 20 years... lighter tailgate for starters but things are finally breaking down and wondering should I upgrade or replace? Like your pet you love old and disrespectful now is it time to take it to the forest kind of love
And by upgrading i mean everything minus the sound system i already did
man I feel yah, if you feel like getting a new one go for it brother. you got one life to live,,, live it up!
sweet! if you have any pictures, id love to see it.. tag me on them in instagram, King__customz
I got an avalanche that has 236k and its still runs strong. The turn signal and the actuators are going bad but other then that its awesome.
damn thats awesome man, keep going strong.. eh turn signals arent meant to last forever lol
Hm that's interesting, I've never known that
And damn that's so impressive 427k.. hope mine makes it to that
Thank you for the info
You got it buddy
Owner of a 2002 Avy z71 it gots 240,000 miles still reaches the top speed of 100mph and still tows hella load still strong 😎😎
Damn, keep it going strong !
2012 LT, clean with 113,000, listed for 16,900. Good deal? Thoughts?
link the ad, Ill check it seems pricey
@@Kingcustomz www.skbuickgmc.com/inventory/used-2012-chevrolet-avalanche-1500-ls-rwd-4d-crew-cab-3gnmcee0xcg242235/
Honestly, I think it's pretty pricey. I'd say maybe 9 or 10
Its pricey because for some reason used vehicles are expensive right now... best bet, facebook market place.... careful with them dealers man
Love my avalanche ltz 2011 long live the avalanche
I love them too man, all with yah brother long live
I got one pearl white ltz 110,000 miles.
And best part it’s 4x4
@@laidspipe heck ya man... 4x4 rules
I'm looking at 2010 ltz 143,000 on dash. They want 11,000 for it .do you think it's a safe buy with the miles. Or is that to much.
send me the link

I think maybe 8 grand is okay
Ok thanks
😃
YES A MAN WITH COMMON SENSE! So manny people hate on the Avalanche and say its Unreliable. Alright. If thats true why do I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche Z71 with 236000 miles on it and have not had in in a shop to do any repairs other than cosmetic??
Yeah man lol thanks, it's amazing you never had it for any crazy repairs. You must've taken really good care of it
@@Kingcustomz yes sir. The biggest repair i had to do was redo the brake lines. I did it myself for a eith of the cost of a dealership to do it and it WAS NOT a vehicle misshapen it was my own Human error when I thought it was a great idea to jump it off a 8' drop🤣🤣🤣
I Love my Truck. Just changed out the block at 212k miles
damn, that lasted sometime for sure
@@Kingcustomz I can't think of ever owning nothing else.
me toooo
This man speaking fax my first vehicle was my parents old avalanche with 440k on it i put another 100k on it before it blew a rod on me few years down the line to know i bought another one
awe thanks man, I appreciate that. do you still have it now
@@Kingcustomz nah sold it to the scraper it was beyond the effort of work that needed to be done it leaked antifreeze oil gas and power steering fluid i was missing a good 3 ft chunk of the drivers side frame bumper and headlights were held in by zip ties and duct tape from an accident my dad got it in so i scraped it, but i got another one the one i got now is an 06 lt with a 4 inch lift and big ol wrangler tires on it
@@junepearthespork1469 oh sweet! if you have instagram tag me on some pictures. id love to see it! King__customz
@@Kingcustomz alr i will tmr bc its dark out where im at sorry for the late response😂
it's all good bro, whenever you get the chance 🙂
I'm looking at possibly getting one now. I'm curious do you know the difference between the Z71 and Z66 packages?
Yes I have a video on that as well.
Z71 is the same as z66.. but the z71 has 4x4
Thanks for the reply
No problem.any time
Say you have to replace the heater core?
I might lol
@@Kingcustomz How long would it take?
That’s a big job maybe all day 12 hes
Factz..my 02 i purchased in 2018 now has over 240,000 an is still powerfulASF an to this day has not had a check engine light come on💯💪🏿🏆
true stuff man, these trucks keep going
I put a 2 15” subwoofer in my 2002 chevy. Avalanche custom made i tweak my truck a lil bit
Nice man, do you have pictures
I have 2 12” shallow mounts under back seat
Any badass rims u recommend for a 06 avalanche
No I suck at rims lol... the ones i have on my truck are from a 2019 silverado
My 2011 was Great. Only had 88,500K miles when the tornado air intake. Broke off n something flew down into the pistons. After looking at prices i decided to have a rebuilt engine put in. Online these n Other vehicle prices are OFF the Roof! Dont know Where youve seen them CHEAP!!
At the time of this video prices were cheap. Now days. I can’t say the same lol
How's your truck holding up now, any new mods?
No new mods yet and the truck is running just as strong. I do have a huge project coming up with that truck towards the end of the year into next year so stay tuned
@@Kingcustomz how many miles do you have now? I'm about to get a spacer lift
Mine has about maybe 20k on the new rebuilt motor
@@Kingcustomz cool what's the project you have coming up
I am going to do a custom full rebuild from start to finish. A full restoration of the avalanche from ground up. Complete frame removal and clean and remove any rust found all the way to the body. With a full paint job and all new bushings and new rear diff rebuild
So it can pull more in 2 wheel drive then 4 wheel drive
4x4 has a little lower towing capability because of the extra weight. however a 4x4 gives more traction for incline and stuff like that. they both have their place
I have a neck out for them avalanches lol 2500hd trim were nice. I need that tho haha
They are great trucks!
Sadly I had to sell mine back in November. Despite all i learned to fix on it from your videos nothing could prepare me for the frame splitting along the entire drivers side of the vehicle.
oh man, im sorry to hear that, I hope that never happens but If it does, I will swap my frame.
@@Kingcustomz wasnt an option for me, I still owed about 8k on the truck. Plus it was having a few other issues, so I took the hit and got rid of it
I now have a very nice new ford explorer, that I pay more for in payments each month than I pay for rent 😅 but hey I learned more about car maintnince from owning that truck and watching your videos then I ever thought I would so I call that a win
@@ravinnox2640 awe man a Ford really lol😥😥😥. Man that sucks, would you ever own another one? And thank you so much, I'm glad I was able to help youm
@@Kingcustomz I got the only car in the lot I could afford. I wanted to grab my old Chevy floor mats out of the avalanche but they wouldnt let me. Shame...they scraped the truck too so i really should have taken them.
Another...sure if I could afford it lol
@@ravinnox2640 awe man sorry to hear that. florida has the cleanest avalanches ive ever seen. and they arent that expensive also. i hope you actually get one soon again😁
Hey my brotha I need to find my inline fuel filter on my 05 avalanche 5.3
so some models are on the frame under the drivers door area, some are built in with the pump. mine is built in with the pump
Did you keep your air suspension or delete it?
Mine never came with air suspension
