Wonderful Video Presentation as always Mr. Anderson! Please encourage your people to add Sweatshirts and Hoodies with FlowHive logos on them to your website offerings so we can all show our support in cottony comfort! Loved the rainstorm - however, where I live, we have the highest water/rain situation since the mid 80's the bees are stuck in their hives. I absolutely agree about the foundationless frames, though I have placed the one piece food grade frames between them to help keep the bees going straight. I'm very glad that you mentioned the issue with commercial "wax" foundation being heavily tainted with agricultural pesticides and other undesirable residues and that's why I avoid that. It's a pure joy to be able to see what's going on at the opposite side of our planet. What a great time we are living in :)
It’s always exciting to see how everyone from around the planet cares for bees. Such a wealth of information and beekeepers are always willing to share. What an incredible planet we would have if everyone thought like beekeepers. 😍
@@BESHYSBEES I try to get around when I have time, and it's great to be aware of what other beekeepers are experiencing, or bringing to the table of success with bees :) It's no secret that I'm a FlowHive FAN :)
Frederick Dunn that’s cool brother, I can’t bring my self to own one 😢a family friend was given one for Christmas and after a few unsuccessful attempts to super with the flow frames he gave up and gave it to another beek to try. I love the idea and all the enginerding behind the flow hive it’s just not my cup of tea. Take it easy Fred
Cedar, thanks again for another great Video! You do such an incredible job explaining how everything works. I am one month in with the my Flow Hive and have already added my second box on top. Excited to see how they do and get ready for the flow super. 😃
Thank you Sir! I couldn’t agree more! Thanks again for all you do. It was your videos that actually turned me on to the Flow company, and now I’m hooked! LoL!!! 🤣 And like you, the Anderson’s do such an amazing job at explaining and breaking things down.
I'm in eastern New Mexico and the beekeepers around here often use two brood boxes. Is it not true that a second brood box will give the queen the ability to make a bigger colony and therefor able to fill the flow super faster once it is put on?
Hi I’m a kid from England andI purchased a flow hive a couple years ago and have only now got a swarm ( thanks to are swarms Bering so big because they didn’t all swarm last year as it snowed for months) And I would just like to thank you for making it possible, My family has kept bees since my great great grandfather made a bee hive which I am planning on restoring and fitting with a flow super or a flow light system anyway Thank you for helping me by the way in 14
Awesome video as always guys. I've recieved my flowhive hybrid and getting my nuc very soon. Looking forward to seeing some naturally drawn comb. Very useful video 😁
Hello Im new to bee keeping I have a 10 frame 16''x20''x9 5/8 deep box and a 16''x20''x6 5/8 medium box. Could you please tell me what size frames I should buy?
I started the beekeeping with plastic foundation and now gradually moving into foundation-less frames, I would still use both. I found that the bees generally draw up more drone comb with the foundation-less frames. When I would not place two foundation-less frame beside each other unless they are drawn, this is due to avoid cross comb building.
I am from Afghanistan and I love an educated person of the people of Australia The best one person I learn the method of bee breeding and organic honey excellent farm model how to be a bee honey and honey bee nutrition of natural flowers
So by my understanding there is a lot of checker boarding, is it a bad idea to have a natural comb, plastic, natural and keep that pattern? Namely to help them stay straight? As well are you supposed to have that much of a gap on either side of the frames, won’t the bees use that space? Interestingly enough I’ve discovered my 8 frame box can technically take nine, now this is my first time keeping bees but should I or should I not add a ninth frame?
As a new beek you should look up bee space, without knowing the exact dimensions of your hive body it’s hard to know if you will have enough bee space, I’d say use a ninth frame until the frames are drawn out then spread the eight, the benefit is you can get the comb drawn out past the timber and makes it easier to uncap
I have burnt out the inside of my new hive using a gas torch and I have blackened a few frames with this method, is this bad or do the bees like the charcoal effect? I thought the toughened wood on the frames might also resist wax moth after being slightly burnt?
There was a study done on that and they determined that scorching or burning hive interior surfaces was actually detrimental to honeybee health. IF I can find the link, I'll share that. Maybe the Flow-Folks have opinions on that also?

im a kid who wants a flow hive
Tony Nguyen better start saving, bees are not cheap and either are flow frames
so if you are adding a new brood box would you all ways add the new box to the bottom of hive.?
Hi John, bees rarely build downwards so if we were adding another brood box we would add it above the existing one and below the super - Sam

Hi Gea, are you wondering what size brood frames you need or what Flow Frames as a Super are compatible with your existing Brood Boxes? - Sam
