I know they just wanted to create drama, but seriously, how does everyone believe in Chloe without even a doubt and expeling Marinette from school right away? How her own parents do not even doubt even though in the third season the same thing happened and it was proven that Marinete did nothing? They could at least remain serious in this scene. If I were Marinete I wouldn't trust any of these people in the same way anymore and would be very happy to leave that school...
I mentioned this in my unpopular opinions video (I agree with you btw) about how characters would be out in a situation and act completely out of character. Because them believing Lila is one thing… but believing CHLOE?!! I guess maybe cuz Chloe actually had “proof” but still. The writers just do random things to add tension but it never works😭
@@TheCartoonHotspot and you know what else? Conflicts are never taken seriously, the characters need to forgive each other and resolve everything in a scene with a few seconds, SECONDS! Why can't they be angry? Why can't they want to get away? Why are they forced to accept everything and work things out even though they are hurt by things others have done?
I absolutely agree with that, the conflict sometimes feel like it’s played up just for tension, and while they do serve their purposes (Sabrina’s redemption arc, Zoé’s confession), but it never exactly been resolved. Like if I were Marinette, I would be peeved that everyone I know, who knew Chloé would do something like this, who has done something like this before, and still take her words over Marinette’s. I get there were stolen stuff in her bag, but have they thought for a second that she could have been *framed?!* Do they seriously think that low of her, or do the writers really want to go that far with the conflict?! And they don’t even resolve the conflict since as soon as Chloé is revealed to be the “mastermind,” she just walks off…and they just let her. No call-out, no detentions, just no consequences or punishment for her actions. This is just injustice for Marinette honestly, ugh.
Yeah, I definitely agree with you because it happened once already, and while Lila might have this friendly persona that makes everyone believe what she's saying even after giving them a really bulls**t excuses over how she has a lying disease which should've been a red flag number one but that I understand. But for them to believe Chloe, the school bully, the girl who has made it her life mission to make not just Marinette's life but everyone else's in the school life miserable for her own amusement, that Marinette is a theft and stole from them is honestly disgusting, and it really shows how her only true friends are Alya, Adrien, Luka, and Zoe at this point because the rest of the class and especially the staff have double standards for her and honestly zero faith in her if its this easy for them to believe the worst in her without giving it a second thought that something else is going on. And honestly, if I was Marinette in this situation, I would've put my friendship with them on hold to self-reflect if I wanted to continue being their friends but for them to realize that they're shitty friends and to reevaluate themselves. As for her parents, I would argue that they probably feel disappointment in themselves, thinking that they don't know their daughter as well as they thought and that giving her the freedom to make her own choices and all that has led her to a dark path which is how my parents are at times so... Idk that what I'm thinking.
@@elinasakura I’m just as mad as you are for Chloe not getting in trouble, but that’s because her father is the mayor. He has power over everyone and is a pushover parent. If Chloe didn’t want to get in trouble, he would’ve made sure of it. But I also agree with you that any conflict Marinette has with her friends in future episodes should last for a couple of episodes to make it seem more real. I feel like she forgives them too quickly and everyone else is just so stupid and gullible, even her parents.
One thing that I found interesting about the episode is how people have different adoration for the people they love. For Andre he has an unhealthy adoration for Audrey as we can see, Zoe and Adrien has a healthy adoration for Marinette like Marinette has for Adrien, and even Sabrina for her friendship with Chloe as we see how dependent she is over it that is an unhealthy adoration. Hell, even the staff at the hotel have a nice adoration for Zoe as we see and probably like her more than Chloe 😂😂😂.
Zoenette is the perfect example of if you truly love someone then you have to let them be happy . I love them so much . Finally marinette confessed it's such a big thing. Although Gabriel ruined it but still adrienette nation won. I loved the episode .

The episode wasn't all bad, but it has many inconsistencies, like Sabrina refusing to steal because everything her father taught her even though she has already stolen before, or Marinete presenting her room to Zoe saying that she has never been there even though Zoe has been in the fourth season. It's like the people who wrote this episode were emergency newbies who didn't have time to rewatch the show 😅
Yeah we should be used to silly inconsistencies by now. I didn’t even bother mention it 😭 it’s just weird cuz why do the writers forget the little things??? Sabrina has stolen Marinette’s diary before and Zoe was in Marinette’s room in the episode ‘Gabriel Agreste’ but oh well😹 that’s miraculous for you!

Marinette was deffo a huge part of zoes confidence boost. Marinette's determination to include zoe and stand up for her was the foundation of her new confidence. I'd also add that Plagg was the one that proper pushed her to be brave, especially when it comes to Chloe. Our little king, Plagg, was the final boost she needed to be her true self ❤

This episode was really good for an Zoe episode. I would give this episode a 10/10 it gives us story around the Bourgeois family and Sabrina definitely gotten developed in this episode which we needed for a while.
I have a feeling we’ll still see more from Sabrina in later episodes but yes I love adoration🥺
This season has been a fascinating display of how the show learned to use gringe in its advantage.
After 4 seasons of mostly awkward and unrealistic interactions in romantic contexts, well executed emotional scenes hit a lot harder because you never expected them to deliver genuine emotions in the first place. Examples include both confessions from this ep, the Marichat kiss frome Elation, Adrien's song from Perfection. If you read the script for those scenes, knowing what came before, you wouldn't expect much in terms of impact.
The show managed to take advantage of its trunkload of awkward, half-thought interactions from the earlier seasons when they couldn't reach for more mature executions
I adore Zoes confess, it brought me to tears on how sweet the moment was

I don't know how to feel about Zoe's help, on the one hand it's good that Marinette received suport, but it would also be good if she could get the courage on her own.
There’s nothing wrong with having support tbh! What matters is she still did it🥺
With Zoe being in love with Marinette, the show gives a really good message for kids, showing that being LGBT is normal, and there’s nothing wrong with it.

I definitely enjoyed this episode a lot, it was really sweet and I really loved Zoé here.
I agree with you about Zoenette, I honestly expected it since Kwami’s Choice and Perfection hinted Zoé’s real feelings about the Adrienette schemes (which is realistic and sweet bc she is both jealous but happy to help Marinette as well). I honestly find it easier to expect that more than Nathaniel and Nino, but that might be because we saw why it would happen (Sole Crusher) and I completely understand and like you said makes sense.
Now before I go to Gabriel, I want to say first: 🤬 you, Damocles. Stop just expelling students, especially Marinette, without giving her a chance to defend herself. You know she is a good student, but you treat her like a scapegoat. You even knew Chloé would do something like this, and you won’t even punish her! This is one of the reasons why she is still terrorizing you and your student, Damocles. And may I say again, 🤬 you, Damocles.
Now with Gabriel, sheesh that man needs a hammer to reality. I know we’ve seen this before, but the fact he magically forced his son to stop the kiss because he disapproves. It is beyond creepy and uncomfortable and I hate it. It honestly explains why Marinette feels off in the next episode, it’s because of Gabriel once again.
Overall, this is probably one of my favorite episodes in season 5 and I really, thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Everyone loves Marinette, so she's a Mary Sue" is the worst argument I see in the fandom
First off, a Mary Sue is, on its basis, a character with no flaws or struggles, not some fancy way to say "exclusively female character I don't like for stupid and petty reasons". A MS can't develop and grow because, by default, they're already perfect. Marinette goes through several depressions, fumbles a lot of social situations that sometimes led to Akumatizations, doubts herself every time someone mentions her failures, and has to deal with consequences.
Secondly, yes, most of the cast likes Marinette, but that's because she's genuinely kind, helpful and supportive. I can't be the only one who had a crush on a person who was randomly but honestly nice to me in a tough time.

I liked the episode and how we saw growth for both characters.
I honestly wish Zoe did have a crush on Adrien. It would actually give Marinette character growth and a challenge to overcome. But no. Marinette gets everyone because she's so special. All this episode made me realize is if Marinette decides Adrien isn't making her happy. That she'll leave him and date Zoe. I dont like that. I don't like that Marinette can just be able to have anyone if the other person she likes doesn't meet her standards. It's shallow. Plus. The owl house does LGBTQ ships much better. I get miraculous was trying to be able to take risks. But it just doesn't pay off.

I would give this episode a 10/10 if it weren't for the wired inconsistentcies and the Akuma over all. Zoe it's really sweet and ngl that Gabriel jump-scare got me the first time
But what if Adrien is controlled by mind hypnosis from Gabriel's ring. I keep feeling that Gabriel's ring is a hypnosis object. Rather than believing Adrien as a senti monster, I think Gabriel is hypnotising his own son. We never know. It might be true. If not, then that's fine by me. 😊

I finally watched adoration I have been waiting to watch the episodes in order and in English. I am so glad, that it practically confirmed, Zoey is not useless character and was not brought in to be Chloe's replacement as the bee miraculous holder when sole crusher and queen banana aired for the first many people hated Zoey and accused her of both if these things, I think that hatred on Zoey was unnecessary.

I honestly don't see Zoenette as a good ship. I have nothing against gays. Especially since I ship Lumity. However Zoe and Marinette don't have anything in common. Heck. They've barely interacted with each other enough to even develop a relationship. That's why I prefer Adrien and Zoe as a ship. Because they do have things in common. Both try to be someone they aren't because of a bad parent. Both are very sweet and caring. And both want to be able to be themselves.

I don't agree with you. The purpose is good as it is, and Marinette and Adrien are better together. I don't understand why everyone is like "oh well the only reason zoenette wouldn't work is because Marinette is in love with Adrian." Well has no one ever thought that maybe it wouldn't work because Marinette is straight? I mean not everyone is gay in this show, and she's never given us a reason to think she is. This is just my opinion. I want everyone who reads this to know, that God loves you, and cares for you. And whatever you may be going through, or maybe nothing at all, He sees you. God has a right time and place everything. God's timing is better than our own, and his plan is better than our own. Sometimes we just need to trust in him, surrender, and God will take care of the rest. He loves everyone unconditionally, and wants everyone to know Him. Whatever you may have done in the past, he will forgive, all you need is to ask.
